TheDoctorsTV and Oz: Hypoglycemia and Colon Cancer Discussions about Solutions
One of the panel experts that joined our doctors from TheDoctorsTV talked about hypoglycemia today. Her advice was to snack on Nuts and some other healthy foods during the day to prevent spikes in glucose levels in the blood.
Most of the Nuts you find in the grocery stores are RANCID! They taste bad and they will upset your stomach, instead of helping your blood sugar levels remain balanced. You really need to find Nuts that are fresh and organic to do you justice when it comes to being a great snack that you enjoy.
Many types of Nuts are bland in flavor. This is the reason why so many companies tend to roast nuts and add salt to give them more taste. Although it may be good for your taste buds, it is not so good for your health. It is much better to find a good source of raw nuts which have been seasoned with healthy spices and herbs. We want you to give these delicious Nuts a try and you’ll never go back to Planters again…
Now, it’s important for me to say this out loud and in print. Dr. Travis said that his audience should not trust websites that want to sell you a product when you are looking for health information online. That’s weird advice! Dr. Travis should know that there are both legitimate and scam sites that sell products for a variety of reasons on the Net. You simply need to be smart enough to know the difference!
We are here to educate you, expose you to ideas and information, and to point you in a direction that is honorable. We are compensated to a small extent by the companies we are affiliated with when you make purchases from our links. This is normal and legitimate business practice and there’s nothing wrong with it. It makes it possible for us to give you this information without charging you for knowledge. You don’t have to come in to my office and pay me $100 for an hour of my time.
This arrangement works for all of us. I provide valuable information and you benefit from reputable companies products and services. It’s fair and reasonable. That’s why we’re doing it this way, it WORKS for everyone. So, Dr. Travis, an attitude adjustment might be in order… It’s true that you cannot believe or trust everything that in online, but there IS great information and good companies that promote excellent products on the Net – we’re living proof of this fact!
While we aren’t going to get into Hypoglycemia here, we do want you to learn about a few ways to balance your blood sugar levels with whole foods and snacks. It’s imperative that you eliminate refined sugars and high fructose corn syrup from your diet. There are plenty of natural and wholesome sweeteners available now. You can snack on fresh organic fruit or dried fruits which your body recognizes and metabolizes more gradually.
You also want to ensure that you have adequate minerals available in your body that are required for metabolizing foods that have carbohydrates, protein, and lipids. When you are deficient in minerals, your body doesn’t have what it needs to deal with carbs and your blood sugar levels go crazy. You can’t expect your body to perform its regular duties when it doesn’t have the raw materials like minerals that it takes to accomplish these biochemical actions in your system. That’s where whole foods come into play! Whole foods have all the minerals, vitamins, and other co-factors that are needed to digest them properly. This is Nature at her finest…
So you can nibble on healthy Nuts and Seeds with all the confidence that you are giving your body what it requires to remain balanced and strong. You’ll know that you are doing it, because you will feel that you have plenty of energy. You will feel sustained!
Dr. Oz discussed the pains and the symptoms that indicate the possibility that you might have cancer in different organs. He gave an example for Colon Cancer. He suggested that fiber would make a difference and that’s a common tip he gives to his audience on many episodes. It’s one thing to be evaluated for Colon Cancer, but it’s another thing to actually do things daily that keep your large intestine strong and healthy.
Root vegetables and dark leafy greens are excellent choices in your daily diet to provide the fiber and the nutrients that will nourish your digestive system. Beans, lentils, and whole grains are especially good for the large intestine. Cultured vegetables and miso are also going to lend you some help when it comes to keeping your digestive system in fantastic condition. If you want a little extra support, you can occasionally make some kudzu root Pudding. Never underestimate the power of prunes and other dried and fresh fruits like figs, dates, and bananas. They all have trace minerals, vitamins, fiber, and other co-factors that nourish your body as they are digested in the intestines.
The other factor that many doctors never think about is WATER. Water makes a huge difference in the health of your colon, needless to say the entire human body. If you are dehydrated, then your colon is affected in many ways. It is essential for you to drink pure water and keep your body hydrated sufficiently to maintain the proper function of your lymphatic system, blood, and literally…every cell’s function. Proper hydration also keeps the stool soft and that’s good for your colon.
Besides water and freshly juiced fruits and vegetables, the other thing that’s going to contribute to the health of your colon is movement. You don’t have to run marathons or engage in crazy exercise, but you do need to keep moving. Yoga and stretching do wonders for your entire body, including your intestines. This helps you breathe and gets more oxygen into your system, too. It’s all part of a healthy Lifestyle that will keep you feeling great!
