Weight Mangement in the World of Oz: Food, Mindset, and Clothing Plus
Dr. Oz brings in audience members who have been losing weight and loving it. The Food choices, the Mindset of what it means to one’s Self-Image, and even the place of Clothing is all a plus for those who want to lose some girth and get healthy in the process.
If the food that you are eating is not delicious and healthy, you will NOT arrive at your ideal weight or maintain it gracefully. You will continue to find ways to cheat for the ‘taste’ of it when addicted to the stimuli of sweet or salty which is artificially conditioned into processed foods to keep you coming back for more. You need to learn the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of taste. You need to balance sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and pungent using a variety of foods and spices to season your food and make the ultimate healthy choices.
You know deep down that your state of being over-weight or under-weight is a ’cause-effect’ relationship with behaviors, attitudes, habits, addictions, and misinformation. Surely you realize that you have been commercially hypnotized to eat specific processed foods and harbor attitudes about those foods by major companies who exist to make money from the hypnotic trance they spend billions to keep you entrained in their expensive clutches. They want you to be their customers for life…and it’s costing you yours!
Dr. Oz gave the audience a good recipe for a Green Drink, yet if I were you…you might want to include carrots to his cocktail of great vegetables. If you don’t have the juicer or the time to prepare your own Smoothie; then get these three Blends from Sun Warrior and not only will you get your Greens, but you’ll get additional protein and nutrients that are not easily available – yet oh, so valuable for your health! Read what David Wolfe and Raw Food enthusiasts have to say about Sun Warrior protein powder and Green Drink mixes! Green Drinks have never been better than this:
You can do this! You can change and be your own person. You can find internal resources of self-control and behavior management which will bring you pride and self-esteem. The shame you’ve felt for being out of control and at the mercy of corporate food moguls will become a distant memory and will serve to remind you of the progress you are making when you drop the pounds, trim your waistline, become the epitome of health and wellness, and regain your resilience of personal responsibility and the freedom to be your own boss.
You can learn the methods for maintaining a healthy Lifestyle and employ behaviors which will allow you to succeed and find your way to your goal of being the ‘ideal’ you hold in your mind.
Your Mindset will propel you toward this success. Draw your ideal body. Look at your drawing daily. Close your eyes and feel the gratitude that you give yourself for accomplishing this ideal. Every time you prepare your food, drink a healthy beverage, decide between junk food and whole foods, and take good care of yourself; you will see this ideal image of the true and authentic YOU in your mind and you won’t stop until it is the inner and outer reality. Promise yourself this now and be relentless in the pursuit of your ideal.
Season your food with healthy spices, herbs, and seasoning blends from these two sources. When your food is tasting fantastic, you will eat it in lieu of any other burger, fries, cake, cookies, artificially-sweetened or overly salted packaged items, or other fake foods that seduce you.
You crave certain flavors and tastes due to imbalances in systems in your body. If you crave sweets; then you will find that the Earth Element (spleen, stomach, and pancreas) are out of balance at a bio-energetic level. When you eat the foods that nourish these systems or take the nutritional supplements or herbs that balance these systems; then you will no longer have those insatiable cravings.
If you crave salt; then the imbalance exists in the Water Element and your kidneys, bladder, and reproductive organs are out of balance energetically. When you nourish your body to return to a state of balance; then the cravings for salty foods will be normal again. There’s a place for salt in our diets, but the craving for saltiness in foods and snacks signals the relative imbalance.
These are the two ‘biggies’ for you and eventually we’ll get to the others. If you begin to eat sour foods like sauerkraut and organic pickled daikon; then you’ll notice a change. If you begin to eat bitter greens and bitter foods, then you’ll notice a marked shift in many health indicators. If you eat pungent and spicy foods; then you will start to notice a transformation which is tangible. Play with your seasonings and go for variety’ with both warm and cool and neutral herbs and spices. Balance is the ‘key’.
The woman who spoke about giving yourself some quality time with Self through meditation, prayer, reflection, peace, centeredness, contemplation, and personal growth; then you will engage the Mindset which brings you Balance. The changes will occur more rapidly and with greater ease.
Dr. Oz stated that fundamentally our bodies are all designed to eat Whole Foods, but there are individual differences which are the reasons for responding differently to the same foods as your friends and family members. Your metabolism is uniquely yours and those levels of imbalance in any of the five areas we described make you different from the person next to you. Don’t judge yourself based upon these social circumstances. Find your own way for your own sacred body and your own special needs for your well-being.
Just as the vivacious Richard Simmons discussed, the path to your goal can be wild and crazy – but you must never give up on your dreams for weight management. The emotional rebirth and the new life that you feel when your body image and your behavior changes to be healthy is captivating and oh, so satisfying!
