Water, Dr. Oz, and Dehydration: Water When?
Dr. Oz discussed his anti-aging ideas about the use of water. Water is a huge topic that is much more complicated than what we will cover in this singular post. Dehydration plagues more people than one can imagine and it shows in such a variety of ways in the human body, especially visible in your skin.
What’s happening within is even more significant that what you see on the surface of your body when it comes to hydration. Let’s put it this way: Unless you are properly and constantly hydrated internally and externally, you will never enjoy a comprehensive state of Well-Being and Wellness.
I want to emphasize one major concern that I have with water. People drink too much of it with meals. Stop that! It’s one thing to sip a little water or red wine with your meals, but don’t dilute your chyme in your stomach with lots of water when you need those strong enzymes to break down your food.
You have plenty of time between meals to sip your purified water!
There is a lot of evidence that is emerging about the quality of your purified water. Many of us use structured water and pay attention to the alkaline/acid balance or pH of our water. Don’t skimp when it comes to the quality of water that you introduce into your body.
It is relatively important to have a good water purification system for the water you drink if it comes from a municipal source; and it stands to reason that it is equally important to shower and bathe with purified filtered water.
There are times when it is appropriate to spend some time in a hot shower, but not all the time. There is much to be said about the stimulating experience of being in hot water and then having a refreshing splash of cold just like they do in Nordic countries with sauna and hot springs with a cold dunk after the heat has been applied… I must say that after growing up with hot springs just a few steps away and enjoying a swimming pool heated with this mineral-rich hot water cooled down a bit for comfort; it is a practice that I support for improving circulation and strengthening one’s heart and lungs. The skin benefits from trace minerals, but only those in their natural state. It is better to get your minerals internally with food and supplementation or with the use of superior formulations in natural organic cosmetic and skin care products which we discussed yesterday.
Water is essential and you cannot place enough emphasis upon the water you drink and bathe in daily. Dehydration compromises much more than your weight and the texture of your skin, it impairs many biological and chemical functions inside your major organs and systems. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate…
If you are going to listen to Dr. Oz and choose to drink water before a meal to possibly salvage the intake of 75 calories; then at least drink your water half an hour before you sit down to eat your meal. Remember that you don’t have to drink water with your meal. It is better to have a glass of red wine with lunch and dinner! Drink freshly juiced organic juices for breakfast, but don’t mix whole grains or milk with your fruit or juice. A nice blend of 8 to 10 vegetable juices made fresh is highly desirable and don’t forget your spinach, beets, celery, carrots, cucumber, parsley, ginger, and lemon to enhance your veggies. You can juice cabbage and greens, but the taste is stronger and you should blend them. Tomato juice is a good base juice and you can add spices like cayenne to enhance the flavor with a pinch of sea salt to boot.
We would like to think that the container that houses your water is of significance, too. If you have a large family or entertain, then an AquaVerve unit works beautifully for your home and your office. If you travel, then taking a healthy bottle of water with you is extremely important. Your choice of containers also makes an impact on our environment – so be mindful of the material that comprises your container for your water as well.
Athletic Performance and Sports enthusiasts must be especially mindful of staying hydrated before, during, and after any activities. There’s all kinds of equipment that helps you with this, but we kind of love this specialty item called the Hydrapak:
Now, more than ever, it behooves you to create your own water. There’s no better unit that is readily available with a proven process than Tyent. If you want to spend money wisely and make a great investment in your health and Longevity; then getting one of these Tyent water systems is the way to go:
All in all, pay attention to the water you drink and be smart. When to water your body is just as important as what water to whet your whistle with!
Water, water everywhere…and knowing what water to drink is worth every drop!
