TheDoctorsTV and World Health Issues
The doctors have been exceedingly busy traveling to countries around the world to perform some amazing volunteer medical service. We applaud those physicians and assistancts who give of their time and expertise to assist those who would not have access to quality medical care in so many countries around the globe. There are still so many towns and rural areas in America that do not have health care easily available to them!
I admit that I was impressed many decades ago when I heard about the Barefoot Doctor. It made me want to make health information readily available to those who really wanted to know more about their bodies and how to keep themselves well and strong, instead of only seeking out doctors when there is a problem or getting your six month check-ups.
There are other countries in the world where people are stronger, older, and wiser than within the USA. We have much to learn from these cultures and you can bet that we will continue to share their ancient wisdom here on numerous posts for you to glean the knowledge that they live by that may be of value to you. The Japanese embrace the wisdom of eating regional foods, plenty of root vegetables, and fermented soy products. You can now get miso paste and find tempeh in most Whole Food Markets. In Italy, those who live long and prosper drink their red wine, eat their grapes and fresh vegetables from the fields, and enjoy their garlic with laughter. In China, brown rice eaten with vegetables, spices and herbs as their medicine, and greens like bokchoi lend to their longevity and their happy dispositions.
The DoctorsTV doctors faced some of the world’s most difficult diseases and health problems during their travels. The cleft palates and birth defects in India brought Dr. Drew great joy to help children who deal with social judgment as well as difficulty eating, but he gave the gift of change through his surgical expertise to those who had saved forever just to make the train ride to the clinic. Dr. Lisa smiled as she held newborn babies in her arms following difficult deliveries. Dr. Travis became the mechanic to build bikes to make it easier for children to be tested for HIV. Dr. Jim shaved heads to support the families of those children who suffer from cancer. All in all, the giving back actions made me grateful that this TV show is reaching a broad community around the world. It opens our hearts!
Being Italian, it is always my way to share my wealth around the dinner table with friends, family, and guests. When you eat well and live well, it becomes a natural process to share your joy with others.
I was reminded today of just how important it is to share your precious moments with people while they are still alive! My old friend, Theodore Hall, at age 66 decided to suddenly leave his body yesterday to our surprise. There were things that I still had to share with Ted and now I am going to have to visit him during one of my OOBs… He wrote several books, cared about the environment, and played a mean guitar. He even helped Dr. Bruce Lipton bring together some powerful knowledge about the Body, Mind, Spirit Connection.
If you haven’t spoken to someone you care about deeply for quite some time; then take a few minutes today out of your hectic schedule to re-connect with an old friend and share a memory around a great cup of herbal tea!
Perhaps if you share these teas with them around the kitchen table; then they will live long enough to create new memories for the next generation!
Live Long and Prosper!
