TheDoctorsTV and the Correct Application of Tea Tree Oil for Respiration, Rose Petal Replacement for Your Bra, and Better Breakfast Choices
Are these doctors totally nuts or are they just poorly informed? OMG, don’t use Tea Tree Oil neat in your nose!
Honestly, these doctors appear to be complete amateurs when it comes to the use of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy! I must tell you that I am incensed by their inaccuracies on this topic.
The correct application of Tea Tree Oil is to diffuse it. However, if you insist upon applying this Essential Oil to your skin, then you must apply it to your wrists or your feet. The proper method is to blend it with a carrier oil. Do not use Tea Tree Essential Oil neat. It is caustic. You don’t want to irritate or injure your skin. You do want it to be pure and powerful enough to be helpful for your Respiratory System and to kill pathogens.
Don’t listen to this advice from the doctors unless you want to damage the delicate tissue inside the nostrils. Tea Tree Essential Oil is far too harsh to use inside the nose.
I DO recommend the use of Tea Tree EOs or Melaleuca, but you have to use it properly. It is effective for fungal infections and other pathogens. If you decide not to diffuse it, then at least take the precaution to apply it to your wrist or the soles of your feet, instead of your delicate nasal cavity. You must use the highest quality of Tea Tree Essential Oil that money can buy.
And who is their right mind is going to walk around with rose petals in their bra? Not any smart woman that I know! It is preferable to use the Rose essence on any garment. There’s a tradition of using Rose Water in many cultures. A spritz of this floral essence is the proper method for the use of the beautiful energy of the Rose!
OK…now that we’ve gotten that nonsense (non-scents) out of the way, we can move on to healthy Breakfast choices. Dr. Jim and the other doctors mean well, but they haven’t studied the realm of healthy food nearly as much as they need to before offering you good food selections for Breakfast.
Do not eat apples with your granola!
It’s fine to get an organic granola and combine the whole grain with nuts and seeds. If you must bring fruit to the table; then it must be a sub-acid fruit like raisins or berries or banana. The enzymes needed to digest fruit are different than those necessary for breaking down whole grains, so food combination principles apply to breakfast granola and other whole grains like oats, millet, buckwheat, and barley.
If you add yogurt to your granola, then make sure it’s not too sweet and has no fruit. We recommend coconut milk yogurt instead of a dairy-based yogurt. Granola goes nicely with coconut milk, rice milk, almond milk, and soy milk. But please…resist the advice from the doctors to choose skim milk.
Scrambled eggs and a whole grain is better than the doctor’s idea of eggs with toast and orange juice. Remember the food combination rule to not combine orange juice with bread or other cereal grains. Why ruin scrambled eggs with toast when you can enjoy your scrambled eggs with a whole grain side. We love our millet or brown rice with our eggs made with a savory sauce using sea salt and herbs.
Scrambled tofu is also a healthy treat, especially when you season your tofu with spices. We love our roasted garlic cloves, parsley and cilantro, thyme, oregano, cumin, and a dash of cayenne. We often use a good curry powder to flavor our scrambled tofu and we like to splash the dish with a little tamari finished with a sprinkling of gomasio.
A great veggie omelet suffices for a healthy breakfast on its own and it doesn’t need a bran muffin nor fruit to make a complete meal. The veggie omelets that we made in our Natural Foods Restaurant were always one of the most popular breakfast selections on our menu along with our whole grain Belgium Waffles and real maple syrup covered with slivered almonds and pecans.
It’s important to use fresh organic vegetables in your egg omelet. You can finish off the sauteed veggies with fresh cilantro and other herbs and don’t forget the garlic! We found that a good variation on our veggie omelet is to add a flavorful sauce like salsa or pesto made from scratch. We also liked to experiment with a wide variety of vegetables, including asparagus, roasted red peppers, and artichokes in our veggie omelets. A dollop of Nancy’s Sour Cream or Tofutti’s Sour Cream made from soy does make that omelet into a special treat and enriches the flavor of the veggies.
What’s with the doctors and milk? Get over it already – it’s not a healthy choice unless you personally know the cow and she has just been milked out in the barn just hours before you drink that white liquid. We’re encouraging you to be extremely careful about which dairy products you introduce into your system. It’s not good to invite a ‘mad cow’ to breakfast or any other meal….
Most zucchini is too watery to use in pancakes, so unless you want to float your butter in your cakes; choose a different accompaniment for your pancakes. Nuts are the best choice. When you glaze an organic batch of nuts with maple syrup, you will be in breakfast bliss when you chop a few and lend them to the texture of your buckwheat pancakes. We use oat flour and other whole grain flours in our waffles and pancakes, but we tend to steer clear of wheat these days.
French Toast deserves real maple syrup and it’s not fair to ruin it with orange juice or milk…go tell it on the Doctors! I was famous for my French Toast, because I could time it to be removed from the skillet at just the right moment when it was golden brown in spots and never soggy nor dried out. There are many sides that are good to pair with French Toast, but for me – it was free-range bacon. The sweetness of the maple syrup and the saltiness of the bacon are perfect.
I’ve certainly entertained my fair share of bagels and cream cheese in days past, but I prefer a nice tofu spread these days. In fact, you can purchase Tofu Egg Salad that spreads nicely on a bagel, slice of whole grain toast, or teff tortilla for breakfast or for a light lunch. I have made my own sweet tofu spread for bagels using a blender with all organic ingredients to create a spread from scratch. My favorite spreads are nut butters and chocolate for morning magnificence.
Nut Butters on slices of banana are the best recommendation that the doctors offered to you today! But it’s important to vary your nut butters, including cashew and almond butters. You haven’t truly lived until you’ve indulged in hazel nut butter and chocolate… In addition to spreading nut butters on bananas, we enjoy strawberries, pineapple slices, segments of papaya, mango, and peaches. Often we just love to have fresh fruit for our Breakfast with our Vital 18 and Brain Toniq.
Speaking of liquid breakfasts, you don’t have to be ‘on the run’ to enjoy a Breakfast Smoothie! In fact, more often than not, a Smoothie makes a very good choice for starting your morning with enough nutrients and calories to see you through until lunch. Vital 18 and other great ingredients will enhance the nutritional value of your Smoothies.
The newest thing that we have to offer you for the healthiest powder to add to your Smoothie is the reformulation of Tri-On. Ask us how to get this amazing blend of herbs and nutritionals in powder form! Your body will be eager to awaken in the morning just to ingest this magical mix with your Smoothies.
