TheDoctorsTV and Potty Training Ideas, Menstrual Sponges, and Head Trauma from Sports

TheDoctorsTV show tackled some funny topics today and we had a good laugh while Dr. Jim sang his Potty Training song for everyone to demonstrate the new little watch that reminds younger children to do a ‘bladder check’.

It’s true that kids get lost in what they are doing in the moment and sometimes forget that they need to urinate frequently. They there’s that sudden urge… You know the rest if you are the parent or the caretaker of a young child. It’s the rush to the bathroom.

So this neat watch reminds kids to check their bodies to see if they need to take a bathroom break. Dr. Jim’s Potty Training song makes the tinkle time pass with a grin and a chuckle. This will help children learn to read the messages that their bodies are giving them and the training will reinforce the effective communication signals the body uses to signal the need to empty the bladder. Even adults who are suffering from memory loss will find this watch system to be a useful reminder, so there are fewer accidents with wet pants.

Yesterday, Dr. Lisa didn’t like the idea of menstrual sponges, but women around the world near oceans where sponges grow have used them for centuries with good results. It’s nothing new, just the methods of trimming and cleansing the sponges have improved with the commercial marketing of these menstrual sponges. Don’t dismiss them just because you have to take a little time to rinse and cleanse them regularly during your period. If you didn’t have tampons or pads, then you would revere these simple natural sponges.

Dr. Travis sees head trauma in the emergency room all the time and he was adamant about preventing such needless damage to the brain. Dr. Jim showed the audience some helmets for kids to wear while engaging in sports or in any activity that risks the head, brain, spine, and neck. The doctors talked about school sports like football and discussed the potential injuries that come from repeated head trauma. It boggles the mind that parents and smart adults still encourage their children to play such rough sports. It’s not all that smart after someone suffers a serious injury. It happens all too often. I am more of a fan for Tai Chi and Yoga, ballet and gymnastics, volleyball, tennis, and skiing than I am of football, but to each his own. My younger brother was the quarterback at Idaho State University and he had to quit after a serious shoulder injury. It affected his life beyond the green grass of the football field. Personally, I would rather be mountain climbing and repelling than getting a pounding on the football field…and I have without injury or damage to any body parts, especially my delicate brain.

Your brain is the most important organ in your body and you want to ensure that you treat it with respect, care, and enduring tenderness. You can nourish your brain with herbs, essential oils, and whole foods. This is the cornerstone of your health and well-being! Burnish your brain…
