TheDoctorsTV and Oz: Healthy Ideas for Burns, Spills, Job Thrills, Cuts, and Guts!
It was a busy day on TheDoctors with many examples of health risks that people face while on the job at work. This risky business results in harsh accidents or problems that need immediate solutions.
Dr. Oz recently talked about Burns. He and the doctors all seem to think that placing a cloth with cool water is their best solution. Everyone agrees not to use butter or ice on a burn. But we have to tell you that when we think about what to do FIRST for a BURN; it is natural to turn to Lavender Essential Oil.
Lavender Essential Oil was one of the initial oils to be found to be exceedingly useful in emergencies that required a quick fix whether for a burn, a toothache, a pain, a gouge, or any irritation to a foreign substance. Lavender…as long as it is pharmaceutical grade oil…immediately reduces the pain sensation, lessens the redness, deals with the inflammation, and stops the damage from getting any worse. You need to apply the Lavender Oil neat to get the best result.
Don’t mix oil and water. Allow the Lavender Oil to penetrate and soothe the skin or delicate tissue. You can wrap the area if that is helpful. Later, check the area and then use room temperature water if you need to clean the area. You can continue to apply several drops of Lavender Oil until the skin is completely repaired or the pain stops. If the burn is a third degree burn, then go to the hospital or to your physician for the next phase of treatment.
Cuts and scrapes respond to Lavender Essential Oil, too. When the skin has suffered a cut, even if it is small like a paper cut; then include Helichrysum Essential Oil to accompany your Lavender EO. This expensive oil will help to regenerate tissue and speed cell repair. Myrrh is a cost-effective substitute, if you find that Helichrysum is too costly for your budget.
If you spill hot coffee, hot tea, or hot chocolate on yourself; then you need to carry these oils in your purse or bag when you are traveling or going through a drive-through and drink in your vehicle. One preventative measure you can take is to place napkins in your lap or around the hot cup, if you know that you are a spazz! LOL
The other preventative measure that any rational human being might think of is to order your hot beverage less hot than the temperature that burns you. You cannot drink it when it’s scalding hot anyway, so why order it that way. It won’t cool off that fast! Test it before you risk injuring the delicate tissue in your mouth or your hands. Protect your hands at all costs, because it’s hard to go about your day-to-day tasks when your hands are suffering from second or third degree burns. Not fun…very difficult…so by all means pull your hands away from a hot beverage that is falling. It can be replaced, but your hands are not easily replaceable. Test the temperatures of handles on hot tea cups or those to-go containers that are paper-thin allowing heat to easily be transferred to your hands.
If you are unconscious enough to eat hot pizza when the cheese is so hot that it will burn the roof of your mouth and your tongue; then keep two bottles of Lavender, Myrrh, and Helichrysum Essential Oils along with some MSM powder. Keep the MSM powder near the chair or table where you eat your pizza and keep a spoon in the container, so you can spoon it immediately into your mouth. HOLD it for several minutes until the pain subsides and then apply the oils. Once you apply the oil, the pizza will be cool enough to eat the correct way at a decent temperature.
Dr. Jim was feeding his face with some hot sauce slathered on pieces of chicken the other day. This remedy applies to food that it too hot for the human tongue and tummy! The burn in the colon was the subject that the doctors were warning about with a few laughs about the raging fires from hot salsa and peppers that burn the hell out of your digestive system. People who have bio-energetic cold syndromes often crave hot foods. Balance is the key here. Eat a wide variety of foods which are cold, cool, neutral, warm, and hot to maintain a balance of energy. Then you won’t crave the hottest of the hot sauces on your ribs or chicken wings. Yah, yah, yah, I know that it’s a manly man’s challenge to try to take the heat; but you are nothing more than a manly fool when you do. You damage those tissues and you pay a high price when you gorge yourself on hot stuff.
It’s one thing to enjoy your BBQ sauce, your salsa, and your spicy foods; but it takes it too far when you feel the BURN in your gut and all the way through your system. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone who is worthy of your high esteem… LOL But when you do partake of hot stuff that takes a fire engine to put out the fire in your mouth and your stomach; then at least have the GUTS to take care of your body following your indulgences! This is why there are certain accompaniments like cucumbers or raita, yogurt or lassi, cardamon seeds…or something comparable to quiet the fire blazing in your mouth! But NOT water…that only exacerbates the hotness!
I suppose it goes without saying that the smart thing to do…is to NOT eat foods that are going to create a firestorm in your mouth in the first place, but we know some of you will do it regardless of what reason predicts for your behavior. At least now, you have a few ideas about what to do when…
