TheDoctorsTV and Health Headlines with Hot Ice Cream, Workplace Wellness, Flower Power, and Sheepskin Boots

The Doctors began this new season on TV with some great health topics of interest to many of our visitors. The production crew has been scouring the Headlines to bring current hot topics to your attention. Some are silly and some are serious…and we always have something to say about both!

We cannot recommend that you splash tabasco hot sauce on your vanilla ice cream, since the face that Dr. Travis made expresses our impressions of the horrific nature of this combination. Are you trying to confuse your taste buds and brain? You can’t really take this seriously, it is funny! There are two cultures who actually make a ‘good’ gelato from artichokes…but then why waste a perfectly great artichoke when you could steam it and dip it into an garlic aoli!

We do endorse some exotic ice creams that are healthy for you. If you ever get a chance to eat at any Indian restaurant that makes their own ginger ice cream; then you will understand why that is socially acceptable and palatable at the same time. Ginger Root is one spice that goes either sweet or savory with success. The Ginger Root aids in digestion and the sweetness of the ice cream cleans the palate from the rest of the spicy foods you’ve just eaten.

The silliness of craving both hot and ice cream only makes sense when you think about the bio-energetic nature of the foods and the body’s attempts to bring balance when certain foods are consumed. Ice Cream from dairy is cooling at an energetic level and when you eat too many cool or cold foods, your body will crave warming foods to obtain a natural balance. Likewise, if you eat too many hot spicy foods, then your body will crave cooling foods to restore balance. Generally, they are eaten one at a time, not hot sauce poured over ice cream…but some weird people just have to get their jollies one way or the other!

We loved the segment on TheDoctorsTV today when Dr. Travis pulled out the fresh fruit and suggested that the workplace offer fresh fruit to their employees along with Massage Therapy and Nap Pods. Dr. Lisa had originally demonstrated the Nap Pods with colors on a previous episode, but we found it refreshing that Dr. Travis encouraged business owners to provide Massage Therapy in the workplace for Wellness. It won’t be abused, it will be appreciated! The doctors did mention that productivity does increase when employees and workers have access to good food and healthy choices that keep them alert, active, and in good shape. Those chairs were a great idea and everyone can take it a step further with healthy lighting, healthy air, pure water, and other Wellness opportunities that exist at the most progressive business offices in the world. Just take a tour of Google’s offices…

Dr. Jim needs to be acknowledged for his fair statements regarding the position and the points that Jenny McCarthy makes about the correlation between autism and vaccines. The more you actually research this field of inquiry, the more you will appreciate it that she used her ‘celebrity’ to bring more attention to this subject. I recommend that people who have been given vaccines use homeopathy to address the health risks that vaccines present and that you educate yourselves before submitting to arbitrary vaccinations. We’ve discussed this before and I am sure it will come up again.

If you spend any time on Twitter, you will have heard by now that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are using the Master Cleanse as a detox regimen and tweeting about it. It is not the easiest cleanse, but it is safe and effective when done properly. Many people ignore valuable programs, products, and methods until they are brought to the public’s attention by someone they respect or know from being visible to the general public. It’s not all good, but it is worth paying attention to in order to ascertain the relative benefits for yourself.

Dr. Lisa explained how she wears those comfy Sheepskin Boots that so many of us have enjoyed over the years. We still do… I first began to wear Sheepskin Boots before and after skiing in Colorado in the 1980’s when Tecnic first made the most comfortable ones I have ever worn. Once the Aussies began to market these boots, they began to come in many more styles, colors, and sizes. They offer more structural support than sandals, loafers, and slippers; but you really want to rotate the types of shoes you wear for the purposes for which you are wearing them in every situation. Be sure your shoes ‘meet the need’ for what you are doing at the moment… We do follow the general rule of removing our shoes while in the house and love the time that we enjoy barefoot in grass, soaking in hot springs, and wading in the river or lake. It really does depend upon the terrain. Use your brain to shoe your feet…

The Bedroom and the entire House can be GREEN and healthy now. The companies that have been designing products for your Bedroom and Home and Office are now outfitting every room for every purpose with the environment and sustainability in mind. Get that book that Dr. Travis held up when he was making fun of being GREEN in the Bedroom, but by all means – engage the greening of your Bedroom as we discussed a few days ago with you. Furniture, bedding, pillows, carpet, paint, and lighting can all contribute to your health and an improved Bedroom experience whether you are sleeping, making love, or relaxing in an amazing home spa.

Lastly, the most valuable segment on this brand new episode was the discussion about the use of the flower essences for addressing emotional, mental, psychological, and spiritual imbalances. We have been using Bach flower essences since the 1970’s and they do work when you learn enough to use them correctly or work with a trained professional. Clearly, these doctors were unfamiliar with Back Flower Remedies. Dr. Travis felt that he had to issue a warning to be careful, since not everything that comes from a flower is safe. There are poisonous plants in Nature, but flower essences are not derived from these. It does stand to reason that you will benefit greatly when you experience these essences at a personal level when you want a more natural holistic approach to finding balance in your Being. This is an area that is worthy of your continued pursuit along with the value of Essential Oils used in Aromatherapy. Just be certain to use the highest quality of oils and essences available without harmful chemicals that some companies use to cut costs in the manufacturing process. Quality is the key with Essential Oils and flower essences.
