The View and Salvia Divinorum: What Do the Wacky Women Have in Common with TheDoctorsTV Physicians?
Just when you thought that this issue was settled by calmer and more intelligent minds, the women of The View and the physicians on TheDoctorsTV show us their ignorance.
They may be right on target when it comes to wearing red and sharing the scoop on fashion, medicine, men, cosmetic surgery, and the wild and wacky ways of Hollywood stars like Miley Cyrus; but when it comes to the truth about Salvia Divinorum, they are in the dark.
Perhaps you would rather listen to the ‘talking heads’ who have no experience in these matters at all. That’s fine with me. I would just like to add my two bits to the discussion for those who seek the truth beyond the hype, fear, and rumor mills.
Neither Whoopi, Elisabeth, Joy, Katie, Sheri, Travis, Jim, Drew, or Lisa ever used the term, “Entheogen”. The knowledge of the use of Entheogens is beyond the scope of their views about the world! They are locked into Social Consciousness where people, events, places, things, and the ‘hot topic’ of the times encapsulates their meager mental capacities. I intended that to sound exactly the way it is written. They are not well-read, they are not spiritually-oriented, and they are not aware of the cultural traditions surrounding the path to the awakening of one’s inner reality.
These people are hardly qualified to provide the public with any information, although Dr. Travis thought that he had cracked the code when hooking up one individual to equipment to determine the effect of one vaporization of the natural plant material on one person. Any clinical scientist worth his salt would know that a study with a greater sample looking at any number of parameters is warranted before drawing any conclusions! Dr. Travis can’t even grasp the fact that Sea Salt is healthier than commercial salt…
So let’s examine a few points about the Salvia Divinorum issue. It will take more than this one discussion to adequately fill you in on all the aspects of this topic, but at least it’s a start that gives you some guidance to follow on your own time.
Salvia Divinorum has been used by indigenous cultures in Mexico to enter an altered state of Consciousness to experience a heightened level of communication with the natural world, the plant kingdom, and their inner nature and perception of reality. This is a sacred ceremony that is carefully entered into with more care than a surgeon and his scalpel entering into the human body…
This natural plant material is not a drug to be misused or abused for recreational purposes. Miley Cyrus and others who have shown such disrespect for the traditional cultural use of Salvia Divinorum should be embarrassed and learn from their mistakes. There are far too many people in Hollywood and too many other celebrities who are shallow and have no knowledge of the history of appropriate and safe applications of sacred substances. It’s not only Salvia…it extends to everything from red wine to tobacco!
Oh, the games people play…
People abuse and misuse these substances as often as they abuse beverages like coffee, whole foods like cacao, and herbs like ginseng. It shows their immaturity and the failure of our educational system to pass on the wisdom ways of our elders. This knowledge was traditionally shared in the oral traditions by indigenous cultures around the world. Young people were initiated into the inner circles of the Wisdom Schools and sacred circles of the wise ones.
The women of The View are on the opposite end of the spectrum when compared to the Shaman. The herbalists and healers of the ancient apothecaries of the East performed far better than their Western counterparts who are only ‘practicing’ medicine with synthetic drugs and invasive surgical procedures. The doctors on TV and in offices and hospitals around this country are only recently taking a serious look at Tai Chi, Yoga, bodywork, herbs, whole foods, and all of the natural methods that have been passed down over thousands of years of success and efficacy. That’s the View from here!
Even Diane Sawyer on ABC World News is asking the question about the ‘Garden of Eden’ being located in Missouri. We are well aware that E.DEN was in the Old World around the region we now call Cypress…just consult the Sumerian texts. The most promising views are coming from astronomers today who theorized that the Earth once had two moons as discussed in the journal, “Nature”.
At least there are a few people on TV who are exploring what lies beyond common human perception and belief systems like this evening’s report on ‘Life after Death’ and ‘Out of Body Experiences’. There’s so much more than the ‘lukewarm topics’ on The View about Miley Cyrus smoking and role models in our society. When will Barbara bring on someone who can engage in more intelligent discussions? Sheri wasn’t sure whether it was ‘stevia’ or ‘salvia’! When will the producers of TheDoctorsTV and Dr. Oz bring on real experts that will carry on the traditions of giving the next generation the ancient knowledge that keeps them well, happy, wise, and curious about what it is to be a human ‘being’? Is it ‘Beyond Belief’ to hope that we can evolve beyond the personality’s limitations and definitions of what is real and what is relatively important? Let’s hope so…
