Kids are great in the garden, too. They love to parade around in the dirt. They love pulling up weeds, plucking fresh strawberries, and watering the plants among other tasks that bring them their daily sustenance. When you share the garden and the process of growing your own food with your children, you instill in them a respect for their health, their acquisition of food, and the natural world.

There are some excellent ideas for parents and educators in the Raw Diva Newsletter to enhance your experience with your children. I have used several of these ideas with my kids when they were younger. They loved going on an expedition in the grocery store or at the Food Coop to find something on our List and then select something especially for them. I had an ‘Expense Account’ on file for them at Thunder Market, so they could stop in any time and get an organic snack, a fresh piece of fruit, a cool natural beverage, or treat one of their friends to a healthy food item.

In this new Raw Diva installment, there is a great recipe for a Smoothie made with fresh raw berries and other natural ingredients that will please the palate of everyone with a glass who is thirsty for bliss! It is one of the recipes in the 140 page cookless cookbook specifically written for kids in the kitchen.
