The Land of Oz: Healthy Oils for Healthy Hearts, Nuts for Health, and Restoring the Delicate Brain

Dr. Oz finally got around to pretending to be the wizard behind the curtain from the Land of Oz.

First he attempted some humorous play with healthy hearts and the Tin Man. Healthy oils like Flaxseed Oil, Fish and Krill Oil, and organic Olive Oil are excellent choices for supporting a healthy heart. My favorite is organic olive oil while I often recommend Flaxseed Oil or ground flaxseed meal. Krill Oil is a superior choice to most Fish Oils, but Coromega is a good tasting choice for both children and adults. While Barlean’s Flaxseed Oil is good for supplementation, grinding your own Flaxseed meal is better for you, so here is one source we recommend.

The Forest was the place for the doctor Oz to introduce people to Papaya from the rain forests and tropical paradises. It is great for digestion, because the fresh fruit contains active enzymes that most of you don’t get from your cooked foods. Both pineapple and papaya are perfect choices for eating half an hour to fifteen minutes before you eat a main meal. Of, course, you can add fresh papaya and pineapple to Smoothies and fruit salads for breakfast, snacks, or between meals.

Pistachios are healthy nuts as long as they are organic, free from red dye, raw or slightly toasted, salted only with sea salt, and fresh…fresh…fresh. Many nuts are healthy choices that do not come from the Land of Oz, but can be added to your healthy diet, including walnuts, pecans, almonds, pine nuts, brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, and filberts.

It will blow your mind when you venture into the forest and find nut butters from Love Street Living Foods. The chocolate and coconut blends are fabulous and beyond BLISS… The Cashew Butter and all the other nut butters will knock your socks off as you walk the yellow brick road to ultimate Wellness.

I have never lost consciousness nor had a concussion. Dr. Oz said that he has experienced two concussions. Many people do. If the brain is damaged, it takes magnificent measures to restore this delicate organ to fully function again. It is better to prevent injury or trauma to the brain, than to try to ‘fix’ it after the damage has been done. TCM Herbal Formulations, Superfoods like Cupuacu, and ZPTech products are essential in restoration. The CieAura Holographic Chips would also be advisable for balancing the energy in the body after injury or even without any damaging event, to maintain the health of the brain and the nervous system.

Tai Chi! Dr. Oz has been visiting the Land of the East to suggest that Tai Chi will help following a concussion. But you are going to have to do more than the little bit that Dr. Oz did today with an audience member. Learn either or both the Short Form and the Long Form from a Master Practitioner and don’t dabble with amateur wizards…

Whose idea was it really to invite the ladies from Good Morning America to appear as the good witch and the bad witch? Regardless of the casting choices, do these people know their sandwiches? Peanut Butter sandwiches can be both good and bad, depending upon what, which, and when… And make sure that your witches make your sandwiches with whichever exotic meat you find at Fossil Farms or your own local free-range rancher.

The sirloin burger is classified as lean, but it is STILL not as good for your health as a turkey burger, especially when you make your own. You are going to have to check out your restaurants to find one that makes organic sandwiches with free-range meats of any kind whether red or white. It’s better to find a lion, instead of a mad cow in the Land of Oz. While you are looking for a pair of ruby red slippers to wear, get some good gluten-free foods and enjoy some ruby red pomegranate for the genuine path to health and happiness.

You know how I feel about cheese, so that swiss cheese needs to be replaced by an authentic artisan aged cheese on any sandwich. You might as well use arugula, basil leaves, watercress, soy mayo, organic stone ground mustard, pesto, organic tomato slices, and anything except iceberg lettuce on your sandwiches to keep them healthy for you. Have you ever had tofu spread on a gluten-free bread? It’s better than egg salad sammies! You can make sandwiches with eggplant, portabello mushrooms, avocado, and whole foods using all the colors of the rainbow for better health.

Speaking of rainbows and home, it is important to live well upon the Land with whole foods that are colorful and varied in your world as a home cook. Don’t take the turmeric that way in the ‘Potion for Motion’ that the audience member made Dr. Oz drink down. But do use turmeric in your cooking and in supplemental form for improving your mobility and flexibility and warming the body. Garlic is great to cook with, too. There is a reason why the East and the Mediterranean people are healthier than people in this country. They learned long ago and still to this day use healthy oils to bring out the goodness in spices and garlic with food preparation. Follow their lead on this…

Now I must say that I don’t think that Dr. Oz is a real wizard, although he has done some studying of the human body and the Healing Arts that make him feel like he can be of help to Dorothy and you. I know how that feels to be glad to be of service to others… But the Road to Wellness is paved by your own choices, because at the end of the day you will be the only one who takes the journey for the duration of your time in this Land of magic, wonder, and well-being.

Should I drink soda from a glass or out of a can? Your opinions?

  2. Healthyself Says:

If it’s Brain Toniq, then the can is OK; but most cans are aluminum and can leach out into the soda. So unless the can is as healthy as the soda, stay away from a can. Most healthy sodas are in glass and that’s the best medium for liquid libations of any kind. Go with glass…
