The DoctorsTV and Oz Give Preparedness Information: We Go Beyond with More Ideas

Dr. Oz had three experts discussing the threats associated with Biochemical Weapons, specifically Anthrax, Botulinum, Plagues, and other pathogens which can devastate a population or endanger your individual lives.

The doctors on TheDoctorsTV explained many risks from natural disasters to emergencies at home with the onset of labor in pregnancy or problems with young infants.

The most significant information shared was the concept of creating and implementing a ‘Preparedness Plan’ for you, your family, your office, your schools, and your communities. This will be your defining moment for survival when you do this immediately.

It’s not enough to only talk about the risks and the infectious diseases that could impact your health and your ability to survive an attack from terrorists or an accidental exposure from a government lab or transportation problem. Discussion is insufficient; it is imperative that you implement your Plan and have your Survival Kits and Emergency Supplies on hand in all locations and in your vehicles. This is ESSENTIAL!

You must realize that you won’t have the luxury of ‘time’ once an Emergency occurs. You need to have these items readily available instantaneously. If you think that you can get some of these Survival supplies after the event happens, you are sadly mistaken and it may cost you your life or complicate your ability to respond without compromising your chances for survival with a good outcome.

Regardless of the source of the biochemical agent, the immediate response will be the key to what sees you through any Emergency. First, you have to know that YOU are most definitely at risk where ever you live in the world, but there are targets which place emphasis upon major cities, major industries, major municipal locations, and public places from grocery stores to football stadiums that terrorists select to affect the largest populus with the maximum impact to accomplish their goals. If you live in the city, frequent public places, work in targeted facilities, interact with large numbers of people, or happen to be traveling on a roadway that is within the perimeters of the event; then you need to have ALL of the Survival supplies and materials with you for use at a moment’s notice.

Fifteen years ago this was NOT the case, but after the events of the last decade the reality of this landscape has changed our perceptions and the methods of Preparedness in a variety of ways. There are also challenges that we face in the environment from naturally-occurring viral and bacterial pathogens like Anthrax which can infect ranchers, farmers, those living in rural areas, and those camping in parks and recreational areas. It’s important to cover all one’s bases, depending upon your Lifestyle.

Even now…our First Responders face extraordinary situations which few people can even imagine. In one instant, exposure to a bacteria like botulinum or one of the plague bacterium can start a chain reaction on the scene, during transport, in hospitals, care centers, and at group events. The airborne and the blood-born illnesses that result can then spread to other vulnerable populations quickly or over a longer period of time. As Dr. Oz showed, bubonic plague can be transmitted through rodents and fleas and other critters; then in weeks there can be hundreds of thousands of people affected over a vast distance. People are much more mobile and travel internationally or from state to state daily for work and for vacations.

We have been alerting people to the frequent occurrence of prions which are linked to Mad Cow Disease that are now being found in wild animals that often end up on a hunter’s table. Swirling Disease is being seen in fish hatcheries in addition to being found in rivers and streams in natural settings. Even a simple act like catching a trout and eating it while on a camping trip can now be life-threatening.

The sad scenario at this time is that the Christmas Would-Be Bomber on the airplane that doused his own trousers in flames has given intelligence when interrogated that signals that terrorists intend to follow through with existing plans to conduct their nefarious deeds at any time. This is exactly why it is imperative that you get your Survival Kits and Emergency Supplies now, without fail; because time is an issue that enters into the equation. Even if it is a Natural Disaster like the earthquake in Haiti; the timing of an event often determines one’s ability to survive or get out of Dodge safely.

All it takes is one quake or one plane flying over your area to put you into a position that could cost you your life unless you have your Preparedness Plan and the materials you need to effectively deal with any type of event. Don’t count on our First Responders to be able to get to you in time or have what is required in their inventory. There are weaponized biological agents that have been developed for which there are no antidotes, pharmaceutical drugs, or emergency care techniques that will suffice. Ebola and hemorrhagic fever cause bleeding which is not easily stopped, certain strains of viral agents for which there are no known drugs which work, or symptoms which are not recognized until the disease has progressed to a point that is life-threatening. The lungs are one of the major organs in your body that can be the first to be affected and you should have products on hand just in case your physicians or hospitals cannot treat you before the CDC calls in their experts. You don’t want to be a casualty or a statistic!

Keep Honey Loquat Syrup and Fenugreek Seeds in your pantry to dissolve mucous and phlegm from infections stemming from your lungs. Nutri-Biotic concentrate and plenty of purified water needs to be in your Storage system to address undiagnosed pathogens whether viral or bacterial in nature until you can get a culture done to find out what you’ve been exposed to and then treat it accordingly by professionals.

You also can keep a supply of specific Essential Oils of therapeutic quality on hand in your Medicine Chest that are known to be effective against bacteria and virus. The Thieves formula was developed in Europe when the Plague took so many lives, but those who survived used these particular EOs. Cinnamon, Clove, Lemon, Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and Tea Tree EOs are important oils which you can stock at home, at work, and keep in your children’s backpack in their own little Survival Kit. It is also wise to keep Lavender, Myrrh, Helichrysum, Rosewood, and Blue Chamomile on hand for emergencies as they will help soothe and heal the skin and internal organs.

Where there are infections, there is often pain; so it is a simple matter to keep some Pain Relief Holographic Chips in your Kit. If there are injuries from falling in quakes or accidents; then these Chips will provide some immediate relief and peace-of-mind while you are waiting for the professionals to take care of you. Sometimes you need to buy some time until you can get the primary care you need in hospitals, emergency care centers, or from medics and response teams. When you have some of these items with you, it gives you an edge in the nick of time when you need it most!

Survival Kits and Emergency Supplies are available from our favorite online source. They have a comprehensive inventory and can help you determine what will work for your Lifestyle. We can also direct you to our long-time friends and business associates like the people from the Survival Center to give you further insight and access to specialty items which most general stores do not carry or cannot acquire. These people have many decades of direct experience in Preparedness and it would be wise to avail yourselves of their knowledge and expertise.

We think that you need to go beyond what the doctors told you to do in order to be fully prepared for an emergency. You need more water and Food Storage than suggested for a longer period than just three days. The items in Eric’s Kit were good, but we like the Crane radio as much or more than those requiring batteries. Solar flashlights and candles will never go to waste. One little porta-potty lid and bucket just is not enough if there are more than two people in your family or workplace. I laughed when the doctor emphasized having toilet paper on hand. Yep, it’s true that it may not be possible to get to the store to get more.

It is important to have your documents and paperwork safely protected and within reach in case you have to leave quickly. Extra copies can be stored at work or in an alternative location in another community outside the area where you live. Important information can also be kept on a flashdrive which you can carry with you and give one to every member of your family, so the critical information is accessible and transportable even if you cannot take your own computer with you in an emergency situation.

You may want to consider getting a Ham or Short Wave Radio and have communication plans ready to go with all family members and business associates for ‘continuity’ when your typical services are out of operation and you need to stay in touch or get things done. Alternative shelters and modes of transportation are also considerations that deserve your attention. Alternative energy and power sources, extra fuel and extra clothing are excellent choices when preparing for Natural Disasters and extreme weather conditions. If you keep a BackPack loaded with Survival supplies with you at all times, you are going to be far ahead of most of the population. Be sure and pack some good protein bars, pure water, juices, and nutritional supplements in case you get stranded and have no access to food or potable water sources between destinations.
