The Doctors on TV and Calcium Sources That are Actually Absorbed By Your Body
Dr. Oz and the physicians on TheDoctorsTV never fail to amuse me when they hawk milk, cheese, and other dairy products as a good source of calcium for the human body. What calcium from which natural sources does your human body actually absorb?
Believe or not, a calf does better when consuming cow’s milk than a human infant or an adult. If you are a calf, then you can utilize the protein and calcium in your cow’s milk. If you are a human, there are MUCH better sources of calcium for your human body that your body will absorb and use for healthy function and structure.
Doctors like Dr. Oz and Dr. Lisa on TheDoctorsTV keep referring to milk and cheese as the primary sources for calcium in the human diet. Well, recently Dr. Oz began to realize that calcium supplements can alter one’s heart beat. It’s about time our physicians were truly educated and informed about the actual bio-availability of calcium from food and supplements. It’s not what you think!
Calcium is one of the minerals that the human body uses for much more than bones and teeth and nails, although you would think that those three which get the most discussion become the ‘go-to’ body parts that people think of when someone mentions calcium. The truth of the matter is that virtually every cell in the body uses calcium and our nervous system, especially our brains are going to use calcium ions every time a thought is processed to send the signal along the pathways of our nerves at the bio-chemical level. Your brain is as important, if not more important than your fingernails, so when you think of your health…be sure that you are supplying your brain with essential calcium for mental clarity and the proper function of the communication system that your body, mind, and spirit relies upon for optimal well-being.
There are so many organs and systems in the human body that use calcium that it is impossible to name them all and impossible to name one that doesn’t require calcium. Even the heart muscle constantly uses calcium to support the contraction and expansion of your heart to keep it beating with rhythm and regularity. Many food sources and nutritional supplements of calcium cannot be utilized by these organs and systems. Just because the calcium molecules are in these substances, there are no guarantees that your body can use them!
Bio-availability and absorption is essential for the human body when it comes to calcium and other minerals. If your diet is lacking in the co-factors that accompany calcium metabolism; then your body will be impaired. All of these co-factors must be present to function properly at the bio-chemical level. Furthermore, if your body is able to absorb calcium to strengthen the cellular structure of the tissue of your organs; then it must be in a certain form to be used by the cells.
In the testing with my EAV equipment that I have done over the years, we have found that seaweed is the best food source of calcium followed by whole foods like kale, other dark leafy greens, and carrots. It’s true that broccoli and other vegetables will offer up their calcium, it’s important to realize that your body only absorbs a portion of the minerals in your food depending upon the health of the digestive system, the endocrine system, and the blood. Foods like yogurt and tofu were better utilized than cheese or milk.
The moral of this story is to eat your seaweeds and your dark leafy greens more often than the other less bio-available food sources of calcium. The ideal source of calcium from a nutritional supplement is Liquid Ionic Calcium which easily crosses through into the cell from the blood. But don’t just take your doctor’s word for it that milk and cheese are going to be sufficient for your body’s calcium needs…it’s just not the case for most human beings.
Kombu, wakame, hiziki, nori, arame and other sea vegetables are the ideal whole foods from the ocean that your body will recognize and absorb when you prepare them properly. You can learn how to steam dark leafy greens and prepare them with spices and herbs to make them delicious and nutritious. Leave the cow’s milk for the calves and feast upon the whole foods that will supply your human body with the minerals that it treasures and the supplements that it can utilize without stressing the heart, kidneys, or endocrine system!
