Red Wine, Not Beer: Healthy Alcholic Beverages

Questions were posed to Dr. Oz about which alcoholic beverage was better: Red Wine, Beer, or Liquor?

Dr. Oz felt that they were all comparable as far as calories goes, but did point out that Red Wine does contain nutrients like Resveratrol which promote health more than the constituents of beer or liquor.

We know that the hops and barley in beer are going to give you a little protein and many more calories, but generally your body will metabolize beer fairly well as long as your liver is in good shape. But don’t abuse your liver!

Buy only the best organic beers from small breweries who specialize in this area of the business. You can supplement with a good B-Complex and Vitamin C as well as a good mineral supplement which includes vanadium which assists in the proper metabolism of carbohydrates. Nibble on healthy nuts while drinking your brewskies and that will also add to better management of the calories and the effects of the alcohol within the body. You may not get as shnockered as usual, but then, that’s usually a good thing.

Now…which of these three types of alcoholic beverages is the healthiest choice? Yes, Red Wine, and there is more proof than the random studies on Resveratrol. The civilizations in Europe can show you that the regular consumption of Red Wine with meals leads to a healthy and happy populace over thousands of years.

In Italy, Greece, Spain, and other European countries, we find that a healthy lifestyle that incorporates Red Wine with food gives people joyful passion, a sense of family, and a good reason to come together to celebrate the finest food and drink in the land.

This is not an excuse for a party animal, it is a Way of Life. Red Wine has factors that science has not considered which contribute to the Joy of Life. I could say it in French, but it means just as much in English. Red Wine adds that healthy splash of joy to your life.

Red Wine enjoys many pairings with food. You should be aware that some great goat cheese, some organic olives, and some artisan whole grain bread will be an ideal combination with your finest bottle of organic Red Wine.

Then have a glass with your balanced meal of meat, vegetables, and whole grains. Save your fruit to eat separately for now…

One or two glasses of organic Red Wine on a daily basis will not overload your liver as far as the alcohol or calories goes. You do want to eat well when you drink well.

Your attitude when drinking Red Wine is also of supreme significance. Joy, laughter, happiness, love, and pleasure all go with the territory when you combine your Red Wine with good food and family get-togethers. Eat together and drink together…joy abounds!
