Paula Dean Admits That She Has Had Type 2 Diabetes for Three Years

Paula Dean finally admits that she has known that she has had Type 2 Diabetes for three years on the Today Show this morning while trending on the Net.

This comes as no surprise to those of us who listened to her describe her health issues to Dr. Oz a few months ago and the new efforts of her son, Bobby Dean to re-create his Mama’s Meals on his new TV show on the Food Network which has aired two episodes.

Paula Dean is not the perfect picture of health with her southern flair for cooking with butter, frying food, and making everything in sight too high in calories. She is a sweetheart, but her body has paid a huge price for her choices of food and health care.

The Today Show and Paula Dean Reveals Her Struggle with Diabetes

Paula tried to downplay the role that the food preparation methods and ingredients played the key role in the disease process in her body; but her body doesn’t lie. It suffers…

She has been taking medication for three years and told the Today Show crew that she decided to keep it close to her chest to tell only her family and doctors. Her reputation means a lot to her. She is making an effort to help people who have Diabetes learn to manage the disease better, but she is missing the point entirely. She needs to come clean and change her food choices to a Raw Foods diet to prove that even a southern gal with bad habits can turn around a major disease process like Diabetes.

Paula is no poster child for Diabetes in my opinion, except for those who want to continue to destroy their health through denial and refusal to fundamentally change the food that they eat. Paula admitted that she is a paid spokesperson for an organization and is ‘compensated’. She is compensating for her stubborn attitude of denial that her southern cooking style is primarily responsible for her medical condition with a lot of ‘sound bites’ and excuses that just don’t hold water.

Last year we shared a video with you here on this blog about the value of a Raw Foods diet and the ability to reverse Diabetes. It’s possible, but it takes a strong Will and discipline. I doubt that Paula has either… She made excuses for the way she eats and lied about ‘moderation’ when we know better. She needs a new definition of ‘moderation’! Perhaps she will listen to Bobby.

Her sons, Bobby and Jamie, are examples of our children surpassing ourselves as parents and learning from our mistakes. Bobby’s new Food Network Show “Not My Mama’s Meals” is going to be informative and useful to curb the appetite for unhealthy fats, sugars, and calories with make-overs of his mother’s recipes.

Since I have been well aware of the risks for Diabetes with my maternal grandmother having succumbed to the disease decades ago, I have advocated a natural whole foods diet for as long as I can remember after learning how it decimated her health and her family when she died of complications from the disease. My sister’s ex-husband also refused to take care of himself and was diagnosed with Diabetes. He died last year. I made it a point to regenerate and strengthen my body to prevent my children from being vulnerable to the risks. They are both exceedingly healthy adults.

It is possible to do something constructive about Diabetes, especially by changing your Lifestyle and food choices. It’s not necessary to become a prisoner of this disease! Even though Paula and others believe that they are managing the disease with medication, the hours of their lives that are imprisoned with testing and monitoring and adjusting it all steals what is most precious!

Paula will be appearing on The Chew this week and let’s hope that she has a conversation with Daphne Oz about her food choices and healthy living! If Paula really wants to serve the public a dish from her home to yours, she might just want to adjust her food preparation methods and find a home with Raw Foods.

This is the place to shop for people who want to live free of Diabetes and other degenerative diseases… In other words, for those of you who want to live WELL, you will find your healthy ingredients here! It’s a daily demonstration of loving your body through the food that you give to yourself and your family, not a defiant lie of ‘moderation’ or occasional indulgence. It’s a healthy Lifestyle now and always! In this way we are both our own best advocates for being a great cook and a caring health care provider combined in one individual. Paula needs a new motto for Oprah and those who would listen to her discuss Diabetes, doctors, and food.
