Dr. Oz thinks that people have to choose between Green Drinks or his new ‘Red Drink’ with beets for healthy beverages. That’s insane, because you can enjoy both Red Drinks and Green Drinks every day. You don’t have to sacrifice one for the other!
In fact, if you blend your beets into your usual Green Smoothie; then you will get a new shade with more nutrients to start your day or get a boost in the middle of the afternoon.
Dr. Oz mentioned that beets were a good choice for improving your health and that he was switching to Red from Green… He doesn’t have to throw out the baby with the bath water. He can rotate between a Red Smoothie and a Green Smoothie during the week. He could even find time in his busy schedule to include one of each during the course of his day. Many of us drink three Smoothies every day. There’s no law in the land of Oz that tells you that you can only have one a day.
Real Green Tea…imagine that…Dr. Oz is finally convinced that the traditional tea with thousands of years of solid proof behind its consumption in the East has actual benefits. Sometimes he sounds so smug… But at least he is coming around and getting his head on straight! It’s no wonder that the Healers in the East perceive Western Medical doctors as novices who are only beginning to touch the hem of the garment…
Do NOT take Chromium alone. It doesn’t matter what Dr. Oz tells you, you need all of your trace minerals daily to know genuine Well-Being. If you want to ensure that you have sufficient levels of Chromium as well as the rest of the minerals from a supplement, then Liquid Ionic Minerals is your answer. All of the major and trace minerals are represented and present for your ultimate health… There are many fine sources of Chromium in whole foods which will support your metabolism. I will leave it to you to conduct a Google Search…
Dr. Oz acts like no one understands the humble egg. Those of us who live close to the earth on the land actually raise chickens and eat our hen’s eggs. The source of your eggs is extremely important. Know your hens and be exact when it comes to selecting free range eggs. Not all eggs are created equal to each other… The way you prepare your eggs matters just as much! You can’t just slather fried eggs with butter and hollandaise sauce while slurping up the yolk with buttered toast and expect it to be a healthy choice for breakfast.
Eggs are like the perfect little complete package designed to join yolk and white to generate life. Poaching and soft-boiled eggs with sea salt do make a nice pairing when combined with whole grains and vegetables in the morning or any time of the day. I could go on and on about the methods for preparing healthy eggs, but that can wait for another day. Gomasio is one of my personal favorites when I want to season my scrambled eggs which have been colored with cilantro, garlic, and scallions. If you want to experience a new way to serve your poached egg, just break open your baked garlic mochi and spread a little Tofutti spread inside and then place your poached egg on top and sprinkle sea salt over it to get your crunchy, chewy, and soft breakfast treat.
I wondered why I dreamed a long dream sequence with Dr. Oz last night until I saw the segment with his children. It was sweet to see his family on the show, even if they revealed some secrets that the father might have preferred to have kept within the family. His short temper, his impatience, his rushing when driving, his competitive gaming, and a few other traits that you would hope that the children can tolerate until he becomes a saint. He is a doctor after all… He’s allowed to be what he is! But the children were brave for appearing and peering into their father’s personality.
Maybe Dr. Oz can try the new Hemphoria beverage that is touted to be a source for peace and happiness. Just a thought! If he realizes that the family is willing to risk his wrath at the revelations on national TV about his shortcomings; then perhaps he has the grace to change in the way he interacts with them for the benefit of the family…

Yes, there are many stories, legends, myths, and facts regarding the use of Hemp. Take your pick and pick out the information that might be useful for your health.
I particularly like two healthy uses for Hemp.
1) Hemp Seed
2) Hemp Rugs
You can get a great deal with natural Hemp Rugs on sale at Real Goods right now. Hemp is naturally mildew-resistant and it is softer than jute or sisel. Hemp is twice as strong as cotton, so that makes these Rugs extremely durable. They are dyed with natural coloring, so you will be protecting your health in your healthy home setting with these Rugs. They come in brick, green, or natural colors and are woven with totally organic hemp fibers.
Real Goods Hemp Rugs
Then there is Versativa! Versativa is a brand new company that will restore the integrity of the truth about Hemp by bringing hemp products to market. The company behind Versativa is ForeverGreen and they have continued to impress me for years with good products and a keen eye for new markets. Versativa is in the beginning stages and you can be a part of it from the starting point. There are a series of videos that explain the history and the value of Hemp which will be revealing and eye-opening for you. Watch and be astounded…
Versativa – Impact Nutritionals
Hemp products are varied from rope to paper to clothing to hemp oil. Hemp oil has many healthy uses, one of which is being included in Pulse. It is being utilized in a variety of health products and many companies are experimenting with hemp. It will be interesting to watch all of the emerging applications for this ancient material.
Hemp is not necessarily Cannabis Sativa which is also known as marijuana. While it is all classified as hemp, there are differences and this makes your perception so very important. If you dismiss Hemp as marijuana ONLY; then you are really missing the boat here!
Medical marijuana from one of the species of Hemp is in the News these days, but I haven’t spent much time looking at the newest industry for pain relief. I know that animals select marijuana plants in the wild to relieve pain, but it seems to make humans more oblivious than anything when they smoke or eat medical marijuana. Pain relief is one of the most immediate needs that people have to deal with when it comes to health care. Locations for medical marijuana seem to keep popping up all over the place with media coverage. I have seen responsible evidence for pain relief and the alleviation of nausea and lack of appetite for cancer patients. I am certain there’s more to come from this aspect of the use for hemp.
At least the people bringing you the hemp products at Versativa know their business and are restoring the good name of Hemp and making it commercially viable. Visit the Versativa website, watch the videos, get an idea about the history of Hemp, and get involved in its rebirth.

Dr. Oz talked about several of the ways that doctors help their patients with diarrhea. But there’s a Quick Fix that I think you might want to know about, because every minute counts when you’ve got the Runs.
Loose Stools are not pleasant…
Loose Stools are typically an indicator that the digestive system needs to get rid of some toxic material as quickly as it possibly can be done.
You may have eaten some spoiled food. You may have eaten something that contained a toxic substance that the body recognizes as poisonous. You may have ingested a pathogen which is disturbing your digestive system and needs to be rapidly eliminated. There are so many causes that we can’t possibly discuss them all here. But you are looking for fast solutions…
The fastest method that I have found is to make a Kudzu Pudding and nothing else until you have a normal stool. Of, course, you can drink pure water or freshly juiced citrus fruits to assist with the purification of your colon and to keep you hydrated properly, but you want to refrain from taxing the digestive system by not asking more of it than it’s already dealing with now.
Kudzu Pudding can be made as either a sweet pudding or a savory pudding, depending upon your personal preference. It’s the Kudzu Root that makes it work, nothing else. But you do want to like what you are taking, so it can be either sweet or salty.
Kudzu Pudding made from an organic fruit juice blend is ideal. It tastes great, especially for kids and it offers the body some extra vitamin C and other nutrients. I prefer Morning Blend or a sub-acid fruit juice blend with apricot, pear, strawberry, or peach blended with apple juice or orange juice. You can use papaya or pineapple juice if you wish. Even plain apple or orange juice works nicely.
First you bring the juice to a gentle boil, but be sure not to have the burner on too high or else you will ruin your mixture. Just a gentle boil…
Then mix in your Kudzu Root slurry that you have made with room temperature pure water and Kudzu Root powder. It usually come in chunks with some powder, so you need to take a spoon as make it into a smooth slurry paste. It should not be too thick nor too thin, just like a gravy consistency for the perfect mixability with the juice.
Now gradually stir the slurry into the boiling juice and keep stirring until it thickens. It will take a few minutes to thicken as you stir. Do NOT stop stirring too soon or else it will clump and you’ll have to strain it before eating it.
Turn off the heat and let it cool. When it gets to a temperature that is warm, but not hot enough to burn your mouth; then that’s the perfect time to start sipping your Kudzu Pudding.
If you prefer to eat it at room temperature, then wait about ten minutes before consuming and it will be lukewarm. It gets a lot thicker when you let it cool too long. So sometime between taking it off the heat and before it becomes to thick to be considered pudding is going to be your time frame.
The Kudzu Root will bind the material in your colon and stop the loose stools. It also soothes the irritated colon tissue. It won’t take long before you feel like you have enough time to get to the bathroom without risking an accident.
This works every time and yet you don’t want to overdo the Quick Fix if you have frequently loose stools. You must determine the cause. But while you are doing that, you can fix the problem very rapidly with Kudzu Root.
Kudzu Root powder can be found in Whole Food Markets and your local Food Co-ops. It is often expensive, but you don’t need that much to work for any bout of diarrhea. A few ounces should do the trick for one or two pudding sessions.
It’s a good idea to eat a large bowl at one session. This should be enough to stop diarrhea within a few hours while the pudding is making its way through the entire digestive system.
If you want to make a savory Kudzu Pudding, then use an organic vegetable broth and bring it to a gentle boil. Then add your Kudzu Root slurry and stir it slowly until it thickens. Take it off the heat and use it as a gravy over organic brown rice or mashed potatoes that are made without dairy or butter. You can use sea salt to taste.
While you are busy realizing just how important it is to keep your digestive system functioning properly, you can make any dietary changes by adding more fiber and better whole food choices to your diet. You can find dozens of excellent whole foods and healthy ingredients at Love Street Living Foods. Then you might just decrease the possibility that you will have to deal with diarrhea again any time soon…

TheDoctorsTV doctors laughed at Dr. Ruth, but basically didn’t get too far beyond the surface of healthy relationships dealing primarily with sex, sex, and more sex. Too bad for the doctors, because they are missing out on the most important aspects of true loving relationships and intimacy! Although I rather like all of the doctors, I must say that Dr. Lisa is more in touch with deep and meaningful relationships than the others on the set, with a heart-felt shout out to Dr. Jim who values the family and the child that restore our hope for humanity beyond the ramblings of the raging hormones and sexual exploits.
Healthy loving relationships are filled with so much more than sexual issues. Not that physical love-making isn’t wonderful, but that is but one moment in thousands of incredible moments that really matter to mature people. If you can take a day out on Monday to express your thoughtfulness and deeper caring for your beloved with gestures of respect, hopefulness for their dreams and goals, and the demonstration of how we nourish one another; then you have graduated from endless musings on forays in the sack.
I would rather be reminded of enduring Love with a favorite song sung with feeling than a roll in the hay. Yes, I love my orgasms as much as the next person, especially when enhanced with the inclusion of blueberries, foods filled with zinc, and red wine embellished with organic chocolate; but there comes a point in one’s Life when the spiritual connection that resonates with everlasting love is better than any other thing.
Maybe next year the doctors and Dr. Ruth might have matured in their understanding of Valentine’s Day and human behavior to the degree that they can speak about relationships beyond sexual performance. What about improving the bloodline with genetics supplied by quantum thoughts of Immortality and abiding spiritual awareness by bringing evolved Beings into this world to restore Balance and harmony for all Peoples? What of sharing our time together by engaging in productive activities that nurture our Environment by drilling a well for a neighbor, instead of wearing red satin to induce sensation in between the sheets?
What if you were to have a conversation about Ancient Aliens as you watched the repeat episodes on TV? What are those Crop Circles telling us about our inter-dimensional relationships with entities who dwell beyond the physical world and coming Changes of our planet? What of elaborate projects like Phoenix at Montauk and Pegasus and alien technology? What of the races that have mated with Humans to elevate the species? What level of love is that? It is far beyond one minute of personal gratification on any given day… Get on with LIVING doctors!
OK…well, there is one good thing to think about on a single day devoted to LOVE and better sex. On Valentine’s Day this year, buy your beloved some Organic Chocolate. It might be some of the chocolate bars from VitalChoice.com or it might be some Organic Chocolate bites from ForeverGreen. It might even be the first order from Lulu’s Chocolates which look spectacular to me!
Lulu’s Organic Chocolate for Valentine’s Day and Your Ultimate Health
Chocolate…like love…is an art and you should make sure that you eat the very best organic chocolate that is being crafted by artisans now. I watched some of the recent shows on the Food Network and their new Cooking Channel with exquisite chocolate concoctions being created by people in this country that rival anything made in the past. These are the ways to enjoy chocolate bliss… From the best Hot Chocolate beverages to the most delectable chocolate brownie, you can find some incredible chocolate that is healthy for your heart, your brain, your endocrine system, and the rest of your body.
You might want to make a healthy meal for your beloved on this Valentine’s Day…complete with organic chocolate for dessert. Whole Grain dishes with roasted vegetables with a rich and creamy sauce paired with a curried tofu dish will show the love you have for your partner. If you want to meet him with meat, then prepare a breast of chicken glazed in a ginger sesame seed sauce over a bed of baby spinach greens visited with marinated artichoke hearts, sauteed mushrooms, roasted red peppers, and sun-dried organic tomato bits with a healthy sprinkling of sunflower and pumpkin seeds toasted in tamari. You’ll remember these meals long after the sizzle in your sheets is long forgotten!
Even feeding one another organic popcorn lovingly laden with a cashew butter and honey glaze would fill in the moments of this Valentine’s Day with magic. Use your imagination and give the gift of healthy foods and snacks on a day when most people are indulging their beer bellies in boxes of something with pink sticky goo inside milk chocolate loaded with refined sugar. Yuckers… Don’t waste the day with that stale old stuff! Grab a bowl of glazed organic nuts – walnuts, cashews, almonds, pine nuts, brazil nuts, and pecans with layers of sweetness and a hint of cinnamon and other spices that seduce our sensations and feed one another as you tell your beloved all of the reasons you feel deep and abiding Love for having them in your Life.
You can arrange a visit to a beautiful place in Nature where life abounds and the wilderness is tamed with two hearts that know Oneness. How amazing that time spent together is next to a singing river and a symphony of water sweeping over the Falls! If you are in the midst of winter weather, then watch a movie filmed in a beautiful part of our planet to remind you that paradise is a state of mind when you are surrounded by people you love. Look up in the deep midnight blue sky and marvel at the remarkable grandeur of the Cosmos. This is the Love that endures forever…

If you’re reading this, then you are breathing and according to the expert on Dr. Oz today, you are at risk for developing Lung Cancer. Yikes!
Since you can’t stop breathing and you want to continue to breathe with healthy lungs; what can you do?
Yes, you can quit smoking…
Yes, you can move to live in a place where there is no pollution…
Yes, you can improve the ventilation in your home and office…
Yes, you can quit spraying perfumes, air purifiers, hair spray, and other gunk into the air that you breathe…
Yes, you can build a healthy home…
Yes, you can eat whole foods and take herbal formulas which will clear and strengthen your lungs…
Yes, you can detox your body…
Radon is in many homes and buildings. Most people don’t think that this applies to them. It’s a Class A carcinogen. It damages the cells of the lung’s lining.
You can test your building for Radon. If it tests positive…move. The exposure is unsatisfactory for human health. Get the heck out of Dodge…
If you cannot move, then set up a purification system that is really going to do an adequate job of keeping any particulate out of the air in closed spaces. But then you need to support the health of your lungs with herbs and whole foods to be sure you are doing enough…
White and yellow foods…
My favorite food for strengthening the lungs is Lotus Root. I also find that Fenugreek Seed Tea is excellent for clearing the lungs. Chrysanthemum Tea will clear the ‘heat’ from the Lung Meridian system and the tissue of the lungs when there is inflammation, irritation, or infection.
We also like to use a synergistic product that dissolves phlegm. Honey Loquat Syrup does the job the best. Prince of Peace is the best brand of Honey Loquat Syrup. It tastes good and it works…
I would suggest to you that in order to keep your lungs healthy, you should avoid or eliminate dairy products, processed foods, artificial substances, and synthetic chemicals that are dispersed in the air. If you use hair spray, for instance, then change your hairstyle to some cut that doesn’t require sprays to maintain. If you eat cheeseburgers, then eat turkey burgers with soy cheese as a substitute for a better health outcome. If you use perfume or cologne, then switch to Essential Oils that smell wonderful.
Watercress, garlic, ginger root, mustard, peppers, asparagus, carrots, scallions, and horseradish – even wasabi – will support the energetic field of the Metal Element that regulates the Lung and Large Intestine Meridian leading to the organs. I am particularly fond of onions, both raw and cooked in my diet for keeping my lungs healthier. You can get acupuncture treatments to restore balance to these systems. You can learn more about Tai Chi and Yoga to strengthen these systems. You can benefit from sauna, walks in the wilderness, and negative ion generators.
Vegetables, whole grains, radish, and tofu are also healthy foods for the lungs. Beans and white meat are also suitable for eating to support the energy of the lungs. Minerals are very important and there are several nutritional supplements that are designed to directly benefit the lungs. You must use your own knowledge by researching this for your personal preferences in your diet unless you can find someone with an EAV device to test your lungs and foods for you.
At the very core of the health of your lungs is your attitude. Don’t be sad, don’t hang on to grief or guilt. Do not linger there… Do find a healthy respect for yourself and others. Define your relationships and honor boundaries when it comes to responsibility and blame. Be gentle to yourself without harsh words or uncontrolled emotion… Speak with authority and clarity. Be YOU with every breathe!

Dr. Oz shared the stage with Dr. Northrup and Perricone today and talked about trail-blazing ideas that helped to change the way physicians view the human body. It is more a matter of Western Medicine having lost its way and we had to rescue them from their own horrendous perceptions of what constituted Health and care for patients.
Of particular interest to me was Dr. Northrup’s statement that during medical school, the womb of a woman was seen only from the context of disease and the view of pregnancy was virtually robbed of any life-asserting qualities, but rather female reproductive systems perceived ONLY from this model of disease or degeneration. How sad was that?
Not as sad as the fact that she had to close the door when she spoke to her patients about diet and health when her colleagues were so stupid as to have the point-of-view that food had no bearing on a person’s health and healing. That is the true tragedy that we have been working on for nearly forty years in order to reverse the stupidity of Western Medicine and untrained professionals who practice medicine without knowing anything about whole foods and natural health.
Thank goodness that Dr. Northrup and others have ignored their cohorts and been brave enough to make the changes. If patients had not begun to demand that physicians know more than the old school crap about diet; then there would have been very few doctors who would have followed people like Dr. Northrup or Perricone.
But let me be clear…these doctors are not the first to do this! No, they listened to others, and then decided to look further into this. Then they were honest enough to pay attention to what they found and make the changes in their practices. It is truly the other pioneers in Wellness who have sounded the Call to Reason. This is ancient knowledge and has been around for thousands of years. It was the monster egos of doctors in Western Medicine and the greed of the pharmaceutical industry that blinded so many to the truth. At least things have changed as we yelled loud enough for more people to hear our message…
Watercress is good, but don’t abandon your bananas! You can eat both on a regular basis with a diet filled with variety. Salmon and all other whole foods are essential, not only for reducing inflammation, protecting the heart, preventing the conditions for cancer or hormonal imbalance in the human body, but for genuine and lasting WELLNESS.
Doctors are still possess a predisposition to gravitate to single foods, single herbs, single nutrients; but that is immature thinking on their part. They are very NEW to all of this, so forgive them and be patient with their long learning curve. Do not listen to them when they try to reduce the power of a whole food down to one chemical constituent of that substance. Synergy is the magic of whole foods, herbal formulas, and nutritional supplementation. Western Medical doctors are like young children learning more every day in school. Eventually they will glean more and more information from the true Healing Arts that have been giving you this knowledge for thousands of years.
At least some of these pioneers in Western Medicine have decent vision and can see the difference whole foods and a healthy Lifestyle makes in the appearance of their patients. That’s a good sign…
Get over the ‘canola oil’ syndrome! It is not a healthy oil. Yes, on the olive oil, nut and seed oils, and cold water fish…. Whole Grains are not cereals or breads or processed foods, by the way – just in case any doctors are reading this Blog. Whole Grains are by the very nature of the name are WHOLE… Not oatmeal, but oat groats. Not cereal, but organic brown rice. Not wheat bread, but the actual whole grains cooked for several hours. At least Dr. Northrup was aware of the macrobiotic diet. Doctors need to go back to school and gain a better understanding of whole foods, food preparation, and gardening. That is what will make medicine sustainable for any culture or population…
There was a time when these forward-thinking doctors who had to learn what ancient knowledge from the past held out to them for healing their patients would have risked. They stood to lose their medical licenses. Now they are making millions writing books, making appearances, and practicing in the old traditional ways. They still have a long distance to go, but it’s a reasonable start. Medical training needs to change… The drug industry has to change… People need to learn how to live a healthy Lifestyle and be their own best advocates for true Wellness.
Chia Seeds for weight loss? Fiction? OMG… Is Dr. Oz really going to give away his power of common sense by referring to a study? Do they ever learn? Look, if you eat Chia Seeds and other seeds and nuts along with other healthy whole foods, you will indeed transform your body to your ideal weight. Just do it and ignore the physicians behind the curtain… When you begin to find your body changing, because you changed your diet to a plant-based, primarily raw foods and completely organic whole foods diet; then you can go back to your doctor’s office and show off your beautiful body and say, “See! It’s true and I am living-proof!”
One more thing…don’t just blindly go and take DMAE. Learn more about Wild Yam creams and nutritional supplements that stimulate the body to work on restoring balance to the endocrine system. Read our Blog, search our Blog for good information from years past and present! Don’t just dote on one or two foods or products, but design a healthy Lifestyle that incorporates the whole kit-n-kaboodle.

Well, I never thought that I would see the day when a Live Birth would be televised.
This happened today on TheDoctorsTV and there is a series on another network about birthing. Now, there’s nothing new under the sun…
The first birth of reason happened for me with the birth of my son, Evan. I provided my own pre-natal care and my mid-wife told me that my birth was a classic ‘textbook’ birth. Everything went according to plan, it was perfect!
Most first births don’t go so easily for the expectant parent. They are drugged and laying down in the hospital. That’s not the healthiest way to give birth. It’s better to learn more about the latest and safest methods for birthing with your midwife. Your child and your body will thank you for years to come…
The segment on the first period was very good. I recall when my own mother gave me a Kit and it made the transition smooth and comfortable.
I had to chuckle a little with the couple who had not yet engaged in sex. They wondered if they should be reading books or something to make it a better first experience. The doctors seemed to think that sex should come easily for everyone and that is not the case.
I think that all the information available will help couples like this one. They might find that they can avoid many of the common pitfalls that young couples encounter when armed with intelligent information and creative assistance in this matter. Rather than stumbling through the first time, people can really find intimacy that is gratifying, satisfying, and proficient, instead of awkward. Good Luck, you two. Read a little more before you bed for the first time…
There are many FIRSTS that you can enjoy and learn from in the course of your Life, so be the quintessential Explorer and discover all that Life has to offer you!

OK…we’re off to a great Superbowl today! The 45th Bowl should be one to remember and one to motivate you to eat healthy snacks while watching the game on TV.
The best introduction ever: Glee Gal, Lea Michele, singing “America, the Beautiful” with the voice that rivals the graceful flight of those Blue Angels. I much prefer this song to the national anthem and I wish that Lea would be asked to sing the songs that open these sporting events in the future. She knows how to sing to a stadium and a camera…excellent job which filled me with glee.
I think that Christina Aguilera missed a phrase around ‘ramparts’ during her rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner”, but she has a voice that filled the stadium. Although she can belt out those runs, she overdid it on the last note until she finally arrived at the finale. We saw the fly-by even if the stadium had no view.
Go Ava! Good for you and your dreams…
I think that the producers scored a dozen points by bringing The Black-Eyed Peas to the stage today! It IS a GOOD NIGHT…with better music and entertainment this year. Did you catch that flashing bodice and the wild tophat? Snazzy and fun… The blue lights filled the entire arena and impressed me more than most half-time shows in memory! I feel the LOVE…
If you are one of the unfortunate players injured during this all-important game; then you need to begin to use the CieAura Holographic Chips to strengthen your body and your ability to stay healthy while engaging in any rough sporting activity.
CieAura Holographic Chips for Athletic Performance
I am enchanted by Superbowl Commercials. I must say that I might be more of a traditional viewer with my preference for horse-drawn carriages, brewskies, and spotted pups or the Rocky Mountains as the horses’ field for a friendly game of football. However, I rather like the Dragon and the Darth.
I might have laughed when they had the guy trying to cram in stuff in the car, but I was too busy thinking about what to tell you about cramming in bad snacks and unhealthy foods to notice much. I am inclined to thank all of the advertisers for providing me with lasting entertainment for silly commercials over the years. They sparrow no expense…
If you are still wondering why you feel crappy after you indulge in processed snacks and delivery pizza during the game; then learn to make a move down the field with healthy snacks for your next Superbowl.
Consider making your own wraps with organic turkey, spinach, pesto, cilantro, and mustard. Smash your own avocado, garlic cloves, lemon juice, and onion with some tomato, parsley, olive oil, and cumin with teff tortillas.
I know that many of you have been porking out on wings and dogs today. No wonder your stomach aches! Drink some organic Peppermint Tea and a few bottles of China Cola to aid your digestion. It will turn into a touchdown and you won’t suffer too long.
Instead of buffalo wings, make some organic chicken strips on a kabob with generous chunks of onion, bell peppers, mushrooms, and bacon with basil sandwiched between all the natural goodies. Dip your chicks in a sauce made with tamari, grated ginger root, honey, garlic, cayenne, toasted sesame oil, and scallions. You can make a dip of BBQ sauce, too, to make you feel like you can get more chews to the bite than those bony wings will ever give you.
One of my long-time healthy favorites is Spinach-Artichoke Dip with organic Veggies. If you want to augment your veggies with whole grain crackers; then dip with more crunch. There’s nothing stopping you from smothering an organic brown rice bowl with this tasty dip! Black beans and actually any bean will make you a great spreadable or dippable and delicious mixture for your crackers, garlic bread, or veggies. If you prefer fruit, then make a sweet dip with pineapple, coconut, white grape juice, honey, and berries blended into a smooth dip for slices of apples, banana, strawberries, and other fruits that are bite-sized, then add a little chocolate for good measure.
Replace those high fat potato chips and tortilla chips with fried sweet potato sticks or zucchini sticks made with plenty of garlic in healthy oils. Sprinkle them while they are hot with sea salt, parmesan, and chopped parsley to make them extra special. You can buy some healthy chips, but be sure to soften the blow from too much salt with a blend of vegetables and whole grain snacks that supply you with enough minerals to metabolize all the sodium.
If you would prefer twice-baked potatoes to chips and sticks, then fill the hollowed-out potato with organic ingredients that are well-seasoned and spicy! We love our curries, our cumin and cayenne, our roasted garlic cloves, and our crop of sauteed veggies mixed into either the guts of the white potato or the sweet potato. Drizzle with the soy cream that is healthier than sour cream and sprinkle some gomasio along with chopped cilantro and thyme on top.
We like our bowls of chili and stew, but follow that heavy stuff with mochi and coconut yogurt. If you have to have pizza; then get the Kashi Pizza that has healthier toppings and crust or make your own. We like to go to the watering hole with Almond Amasake and Brain Toniq. Then as the winner of the Superbowl is announced, we talk about the highlights of the big game while slugging down our organic brownies, apricot pudding thickened with kudzu root powder, and a bowl of organic berries garnished by maple syrup glazed pecans.
The healthy snacks just might be the best part of the entire afternoon! Plus you will feel better later this evening and more importantly…tomorrow! You might never have to read my post about how to quell an upset stomach, but just in case – keep your Peppermint Tea and EOs handy.
OK…I am making plans already to see the Movies that were advertised during the breaks in the game. Flashy, big scenes, visually stunning sets, major action…almost as good as the commercials with the babies talking about their investment strategies. All in all, it was a good entertaining couple of hours and with some of healthy snacks; we will tell stories about today for some time to come after PACKing it in!

Is it just me or have you also noticed that all these companies are talking about Healthy Lifestyles in their Commercials?
Yes, it is happening more often. The characters in Commercials are mentioning a healthy Lifestyle. It’s about time!
The Planter’s Peanuts peanut character has been updated and he is saying things about a healthy Lifestyle in the most recent advertisement on TV. It’s cute! It’s smart!
Peanuts and other nuts are one of the best whole foods for a healthy Lifestyle. You can nibble on them between meals, you can add them to any number of dishes, you can make fabulous nut butters that spread over bread, you can use nut oils for many purposes, and you can even blend nuts into Smoothies and other specialty beverages. High in protein and many minerals with a host of other nutrients, you get healthy oils and good nutrition when you choose to eat nuts daily.
You should make sure that they are not rancid. Raw nuts are the best, but roasted or toasted do bring out the subtle flavors for many dishes. If you have never enjoyed peanut soup; then you have yet to learn what a taste sensation peanuts can be when smooth and savory!
Sweet treats are also often loaded with nuts. I love making glazed nuts with maple syrup and cinnamon in the oven. Any way you enjoy your nuts, they are a great choice in your regular dietary routine.
Then there’s Activia…
I criticized Activia for being too sweet compared to traditional yogurts. Now they have a new Commercial with Activia Lite that you can include if you want a healthy Lifestyle. Yes, Jamie Lee Curtis said it, “a healthy Lifestyle”…
Yogurt is an excellent choice for an active and healthy person, especially if you eat processed foods or foods that might be difficult to digest.
If you have yet to try yogurt made from coconut milk or soymilk; then I would heartily encourage you to sample them. They are delicious and perfect for those with allergies to dairy products.
Ideally, you can make your own yogurt and be assured that the culture is live and viable. But if you don’t have the time or the equipment to make your own yogurt; then there are many brands to choose from in your Whole Foods Markets.
Enjoy your yogurt and your nuts while embracing a healthy Lifestyle!
