Dr. Oz and Cancer Lies, Wellness Thoughts, and Healthy Is as Healthy Does

I watched yet again this repeat episode of Dr. Oz and lies or misconceptions surrounding cancer. I have written about this before, but there are a few more points that I wish to bring to your attention.

Western Medical doctors have a certain point of view. According to one of the experts on the panel told Dr. Oz that it is his truth that everyone has micro-cancers in their bodies. He is entitled to his position. However, it goes against everything I have seen in fifty years of experience.

If you are 100% in a state of Consciousness of Wellness and have no Thought of cancer inhabiting your body, there will be NO cancer in your body. Of that I am certain. It’s as certain as I know that I am drawing my next breath right now…

Doctors are not experts in Consciousness, their knowledge base is disease and pathology. This is their world and it’s all they know. I am not made that way. And if you are smart, you will not think like a doctor, because it could spell DISEASE for you. When you expect to find disease, you will be the Observer who actualizes that reality. Perhaps the doctors of the future will be educated in Quantum Physics… That will be good for the patients!

Healthy is as Healthy does… Why do I say that?

If you hold the Thought and your attitude that comprises your common Thought through the day reflects Wellness, then you are going to be healthy. Your doctor will give you a clean bill of health. Your doctor will not find disease in your body. Every action you take, every ideas that crosses your mind, all that you do, and every fiber of your Being is immersed in the state of awareness of being healthy and vibrant and alive; then every cell in your body will sing that song with you. Do not let Dr. Oz or any so-called expert take that away from you!

Some people have doubt, some people have cancerous or toxic thoughts and emotions, some people are their own worst enemies and bring disease into their bodies with their attitudes, belief systems, and adopted thoughts of those around them. Those are the people who might convince themselves that they are doing what they need to do to be free of cancer, but beneath the surface of their conscious thought exists the rest that sabotages their health. This is the type of person that Dr. Oz was referring to when he suggested that the people who think that they are doing everything right might still have cancer.

If you think so…

I personally believe that Dr. Oz was referring to himself. He thought that he was doing everything correctly, but he was still diagnosed with a polyp in his colon that could have progressed into cancer. He went looking for it with his specialist and they found a polyp. I am unconvinced that he is doing all the things that he talks about on the show. He says some things that contradict other things he discusses, so what exactly IS he doing or not doing? Therein lies the rub, not only for the good doctor; but for many of you. You waiver, you cheat, you ignore, you avoid, you delay, you compromise…and then you pay the price for not being disciplined and consistent.

We saw what Dr. Oz was thinking after his second colonoscopy and we’ll watch to see how he fares after his third evaluation. In six months or less, he can actually ‘walk his talk’ and his colon should reflect either his new found level of discipline or show signs of his willingness to accept some degree of compromise in his standards.

I found it interesting that the discussion around cheese pointed out that hard aged cheeses like Gouda, Emmentaler, Jarlsberg, and other artisan cheeses from the Old World traditions produce vitamin K2 as they age. This appears to be a co-factor in the prevention of cancer according to one of the experts on the show today. I think it has more to do with the entire diet and attitude of the people of the Mediterranean region of Europe who live a healthy Lifestyle. Those who don’t are getting cancer and other degenerative disease. It’s not cheese along, that’s only one factor of hundreds in the mix.

The other experts talked about smoking and exercise, but there are many more Lifestyle factors that enter into the equation for keeping your body free from cancer. But today’s post was designed to intentionally direct your attention to your state of Mind, Emotions, and Consciousness. What you think becomes the matter that comprises your body! Be your own doctor and think Wellness morning, noon, and night. Be well…

The View, The Food, and Men Who Love Football and the Beach: How Do You Get Men You Love to Eat Healthy Foods While They Are Thinking Sports

I had a good laugh while watching The View this morning. Elisabeth Hasselbeck brought her husband to the set with a nutritionist and tried to show how a man that is loved can introduce healthier foods into his diet while watching the Sports he loves on TV or going to the beach or any other outing that requires occasional sustenance as a sporting event.

Hasselbeck sat in front of a football game and was tempted by healthier versions of BBQ chips, sticks replacing pretzels, savory and sweet dips, and some better snacks with salsa along with his beer.

Then they whisked him off to a make-shift beach set and forced wraps and other goodies in front of his face, so he wouldn’t have to go on a mission down the beach foraging for fast food. He actually liked most of the food that he tasted…the wings and things that were prepared with healthier ingredients. It was funny and amusing!

Whoopi stepped in to steal away with some of the food. I think that she was secretly sampling it behind the curtains. Who knows… Maybe she’ll confess to the Nuns with her sister act buddies! Whoopi could use some healthy food that she would find tasty. She has one challenging palate…

Back to the BBQ Chips with those who consider food and Sports to be intertwined… I would suggest that you get your men to actually prepare their food, instead of waiting to be fed by their women. They can BBQ. They can grill. They can boil water. Which means that they can add shrimp, tofu, seitan, exotic meats like buffalo, alligator, emu, ostrich, and antelope to the beach, the backyard, and the tailgate parties.

One of the most beloved dishes in my natural foods restaurant was barbequed tofu. I had the football team, the weight lifters, and other brawny guys who loved Sports come into my place and chow down. They never left without being totally satisfied and full. They ate healthy whole foods and never complained. They even came to my cooking classes and brought in their buddies to sample the food.

You can definitely get your men to eat healthy food, to learn to prepare healthy foods, and to introduce them to their families and friends…one bite at a time!

The Today Show and Rocco DiSpirito’s Dinner Party with Chicken Quesadillas

The people at the Today Show got a good meal when Rocco DiSpirito stopped by to share his healthy version of Chicken Mushroom Quesadillas.

Rocco wanted to introduce viewers to his new show. It’s a Dinner Party show that features the social aspect of entertaining and good food.

It’s one thing to eat healthy food at home alone or with our family members. It’s quite another to socialize and share food and drink with people who savor a great meal with excellent company and conversation.

Rocco is putting on the Ritz with setting tables, preparing great menus, pairing wonderful beverages, and creating enticing environments for his Dinner Parties.

Why..it’s almost as exciting as sharing a Feast with Ramtha! However, there’s nothing quite like having a conversation with the Ram. These are life-changing moments to cherish forever.

The Chicken Mushroom Quesadilla was a good choice for giving an example of how Rocco is able to switch out ingredients for healthy alternatives. His Black Bean Brownies are legendary. He has room to grow before I am totally impressed, but he is making good progress.

I still enjoy watching Rocco and Cat Cora on the Melting Pot episodes prepare food which air on the Cooking Channel to this day. Cat is now an Iron Chef in her own right and is on the healthy wagon train with the rest of us!

The world of cooks, chefs, and people who love food are rapidly embracing a healthy Lifestyle with their choices in food and healthy beverages. It warms my heart to see this evolution.

Eventually, even the school lunch programs and the fast food joints will catch up with this trend that has become more important for the health of the individual and the economy than anyone imagined decades ago. Eating whole organic foods and drinking healthy natural beverages is a booming business when other companies are dropping like flies. What does that tell you? We’re the smart ones who know what’s important and what’s here to stay now that people have gotten a taste for it.

Dr. Oz and Orgasms for Women Over 40: Human Sexuality Intricately Tied to a Healthy Lifestyle

One of the favorite topics for Dr. Oz is talking about the Big O: The Orgasm.

Today Dr. Oz discussed the female orgasm for women over 40 years of age. His largely female audience were not hesitant to approach the subject.

First the experts talked about the major misconceptions women have about their genitals. One expert thinks that women don’t realize that the vaginal tissue changes over time. Another expert thought that some women don’t even know their own anatomy. The third expert thinks that women have no idea why or where they are experiencing pain.

The good doctors showed a chart of the vagina and put on the purple gloves to examine the basic reproductive system. Why is anatomy not taught in public schools? If they’ve named it, and you have one; you should know what it is, where it is, and what it does! The Human Anatomy Coloring Book is your best bet for fixing this and you can color inside or outside the lines.

Next, Dr. Oz brought down an audience member and went through some basic challenges for the aging woman. The libido diminishes due to the lessening of the production of testosterone, the fire goes out, and most women don’t give it much more than a second thought…let alone doing something to reverse this process of degeneration.

If you walk away with anything of value today, it should be that you can regenerate the reproductive system and the endocrine system. You can nourish the invisible energy that fuels the fire or the Yang energy of your body. It is a matter of embracing a healthy Lifestyle.

But do you want to? Many women decide to put their human sexuality on the back burner after the age of 40. They are raising their children, pursuing their careers, and busy with interests beyond the bedroom. The value of an orgasm takes a back seat to more fulfilling Life Goals and activities. Women maintain an active sex life, but it’s no longer the ‘be all and end all’ that it used to be.

In the Eastern tradition, there are phases to each stage of Life and when you enter the period when you enjoy your family Life and give full attention to your spiritual Life, there is no longer the same degree of importance placed upon one’s sexual prowess or interest. Our culture places a lot of emphasis on sexuality, just ask Mr. Weiner who has a fascination with his penis to the point of distraction from his performance of his job. He should resign to have more time to focus on his life’s calling…that bulge in his shorts and his photography career… And he needs to get out of the Congressional gym and back to planning his role as a father, not some hot jock standing in front of a mirror on government property wasting your tax dollars.

Dr. Oz then went into his game show mode and brought couples to the stage to answer questions about how well the hubby knows the wife. These two couples are both in touch with each other; shopping supercedes sex, nightgowns and nakedness are more exciting than red dresses, and the frequency of sex in their marriages is between two and three times a week.

The contest that demonstrated the numbers of health issues in human sexuality revealed that men are dealing with ED at earlier ages, many women don’t have orgasms, and people in the audience have little knowledge of statistics. At least one person won a Gift Card to a Spa and a couple won a trip to Mexico for their participation.

Dr. Oz and Cranky People: The Remaining Three Reasons for Crankiness and Healthy Solutions

Dr. Oz gave six reasons in total about his idea about why people are cranky and moody. We talked about the first three yesterday and today we’ll go over the remaining three reasons and how to resolve one’s moodiness through healthy living and nutritional support.

Fourth…Dr. Oz suggested that The Bedroom was the culprit for lacking enough restful sleep and distractions that make you wake up cranky the next morning. He told his audience that he threw out his digital alarm clock and suggested that you face yours away from your visual field to prevent any light from affecting your pineal gland while you sleep. The pineal releases melatonin which takes you into the deeper states of sleep, including REM where you dream and where your body replenishes neurotransmitters. If you miss this crucial stage of sleep, you will be moody and most likely in a BAD mood at that…

You should make sure that all light is off in your bedroom and that there are no noises like the TV or music to distract you unless you are listening to subliminal audio tapes to reprogram your Subconscious Mind. That is the only exception. Although, many new parents should keep a monitor open for their infants in another room. They will hear them crying when they wake up in the middle of the night. It’s a good idea to take turns getting up with newborns, so both parents get sufficient sleep at least three or four nights each week along with cat naps during the day.

The fifth reason is Diet. That is somewhat different from not eating enough food and having hypoglycemia in reason number three. When you eat a whole foods plant-based diet, your mood will improve and you will be more of a happy camper. His expert shared her best suggestions with popped amaranth, cous cous and mushrooms, salmon with hemp seeds, tart cherries, and her favorite chocolate sweet treat. The only serious flaw in that advice was about the popped amaranth. Most people don’t like plain rice krispies or popcorn, so take my hint to jazz up your popped amaranth to entice your taste buds to crave this healthy option.

You can pop the amaranth in the skillet and immediately after a few teaspoons have popped, take them into a pan filled with cinnamon sugar or orange sugar. Dr. Oz and Cranky People Who Can Change to Be Healthy, Happy, and Nice Again with the Crank-Proof Diet

Last week, Dr. Oz shared his top 6 reasons why people are cranky. While there were a lot of people who thought they were rather cranky who were laughing at their own moodiness, it seems that the pleasant doctor found many viewers who want to find ways to ‘crank-proof’ their attitudes.

I am going to tackle this topic in two parts. Let’s talk about the first three reasons why doctors think that you are cranky. We’ll get to the other three reasons another day.

First, Doc Oz told the cranky older woman that hormone imbalance is at the core of her moody mean-spirited feelings. He proceeded to show her a chart regarding her Progesterone levels during a woman’s menstrual cycle and after menopause. This hormone is thought to be partially responsible for PMS and other emotional swings that could be categorized as ‘cranky’.

Dr. Oz recommended EFAs to help women restore balance in their endocrine systems. While salmon, whole grains, and mushrooms with or without UV Light are going to provide some of the nutrients that will support the function of the body’s hormones, there are some TCM herbal formulations that are much more effective.

Not only does a woman have to build the Xue or Blood, but it is necessary to balance both Yin, Yang, and Chi while nourishing the Jing. Your cranky attitude can be changed in a heartbeat. You are in control of your attitude. You are greater than your body…if you want to exhibit this degree of self-mastery!

Sure…what you eat and what you don’t eat does play a big role. The third reason why you are cranky is due to not eating enough food during the day to provide the needed nutrients to maintain your blood sugar levels or supply other organs and systems with adequate fuel. If you are trying to lose weight and restrict your food intake, you can find your mood being altered. I am going to tell you to eat when you are hungry. Let your body tell you the truth about its nutritional needs and requirements which is done through hunger. If you are hungry, your body is speaking in in its own language to tell you to eat and give nourishment to keep you strong and healthy. Remember, dieting doesn’t work in the long run, but eating whole foods does work and your body will be your direct guide to hunger and satiation.

If you lack the minerals and vitamins or other co-factors that are required for balanced hormonal function, then you have compromised your body’s ability to do its own work. No wonder you get into a mood! You can become a person who grazes and eats through the day when you are hungry, instead of having three humongous meals every day and filing the times in between with snacks and too many beverages.

Speaking of beverages, the second reason that Dr. Oz discussed was about coffee consumption. The woman said that she often drinks ten to twenty cups of coffee daily. That’s rather astounding in and of itself. She should be water-logged and spending half of her waking day in the restroom! She thought that she would be impossible to be around if she reduced her coffee intake to only two cups of coffee a day. But if you drink the highest quality of coffee and use natural sweeteners and alternatives to cream or milk; you’ll usually be fine with two or three cups of the finest brewed coffee you can find.

If you make the mistake of drinking cheap coffee and using a dairy creamer or artificial creamer followed up with refined sugar or some horrific artificial sweetener; then you are in the disaster zone! When you love yourself enough to purchase the best free trade shade-grown organic coffee and use organic natural sweeteners; then you will be in better shape. You can choose coconut milk, soy milk, rice milk, almond milk, or any other alternative to cow’s milk to be in much better shape.

Dr. Oz and Viewer’s All-Time Favorite Health Tips: Comparisons and Counterpoints For Your Consideration

Dr. Oz compiled many of his viewer’s email messages and comments about the advice and tips that he’s given for the past two years. Today he invited some of these people to his show to tell the audience about their favorite health tips.

Let’s compare some of the health tips that were presented on this episode. For review, here is the link to the Doctor Oz website that describes these tips:

Doctor Oz’s Viewer’s All Time Favorite Tips

The first tip was to use blue agave syrup as a natural sweetener. This is excellent advice. I do. The syrup is sweet, but not too sweet. It’s easy to use from a squeeze bottle with a texture a little less thick than honey. It is very balanced and will not overstimulate the adrenals. It’s a winner!

Natural sweeteners are the ONLY way to go. I would suggest that you refuse to put any food or beverage into your body that is sweetened with artificial or refined sugar ever again. There’s no reason to compromise your health when there are plenty of fantastic choices for natural and organic sweeteners to select from depending upon your personal preferences.

Some people love honey. Honey comes from so many different areas with subtle variations in the taste and color of the local honey. Honey is fantastic on desserts and in beverages as is blue agave syrup, brown rice syrup, and maple syrup. These all dissolve in hot liquids very easily when compared to crystalized sugars.

Organic sugar cane crystals are perfect for baking and confections, especially when you need to cream your sugar with eggs in many recipes. Wholesome Sweeteners carries my favorite types and can be found in Whole Foods Markets and most Food Co-ops as well as online. You can also find date sugar, stevia, and other natural sweeteners easily at most stores that carry whole foods.

Manuka Honey can be used both for sweetening teas, beverages, and even granola or yogurt as well as using it for its antiseptic properties. It’s more expensive, but it is well worth the extra amount of money given that it really does support your Immune System’s function. If you can find bandages that already have Manuka Honey applied, then that will save you from making a sticky mess and wasting this costly golden honey.

I am perturbed with Dr. Oz for setting up audience members when he knows that some herbs and teas are going to taste terrible straight! That is NOT the way to introduce alternatives to a naive audience… It’s an irresponsible oversight on his part, because it deters people from even trying a perfectly good product when the tester makes a face upon tasting. The Golden Seal powder could have been presented in a more palatable form as could the two other anti-bacterial substances. Sometimes Dr. Oz shows little respect for a good bedside manner for the sake of a laugh.

OK…let’s look at the second viewer’s health tip: Glucomannan or Konjac Root. Most of us in this holistic community know this as glucomannan which has been an ingredient for decades in many product formulations. Maybe calling it a root might help it make a comeback after we dismissed it, because we found better products. It isn’t the type of product that I would recommend to you. It is an artificial way to create a sense of fullness. You need to REALLY be full, instead of another silly band-aid solution that doctors resort to with drugs to deal with real health problems.

Instead of using this root, if you want to feel full the authentic and naturally healthy way; then chew your food more completely. Most people inhale their food and barely chew it enough for their digestive system to break it down without a lot of effort. Chew, chew, and chew some more… Most macrobiotic instructors will remind you to chew each bite fifty times before swallowing. Can you do that? If you can, you will never need an artificial substance like Konjac Root to do the job your mouth and teeth should be doing.

Your brain is wired to signal you when you are truly full after so many swallows of food bites. If you eat too fast or swallow food without adequate chewing to mix your food with saliva, you have robbed your body of it’s first step in digestion. Slow down, chew your food, savor what you are eating, and then you won’t have to resort to ridiculous fixes to feel full. It will be a natural result of eating whole foods. This is preferable to manipulating your body with this root or eating a bunch of noodles with little nutritional value just to quell your food cravings.

The third viewer’s health tip is preposterous! No one in their right mind would add all of these spices to Green Tea. It’s a tip about what you should never do for anti-inflammatory health ideas nor to boost your metabolism. Cumin, curry powder, turmeric, cayenne, cinnamon, black pepper, ginger root, and paprika should all be used in food preparation the proper way…not in Green Tea! Spices release their bio-active components with heat and oil. Think Indian cooking… Most cultures which are healthy will prepare their spices in oil before adding meat, beans, tofu, legumes, or any other protein food source for the body to get the most out of the health benefits and the nutrition of these spices. The only Tea that I can recommend to you with spices is to drink Chai. Although with ginger root, you can grate the fresh organic ginger root and combine it with honey and hot water. It will be soothing for the stomach and support digestion. Dr. Oz needs a staff that understands food preparation and proper tea brewing

The viewer’s tips about poop and re-inventing favorite recipes to be healthier are fine. It’s one thing to examine your poop and quite another to know what to do about it when it’s not the right color or consistency. If you are chewing your food, preparing whole foods with spices, and eating plant-based recipes that contain organic ingredients; then your poop is most likely going to be perfect. Sometimes you are going to have to give up certain recipes which just cannot be tweeked into healthy renditions of your original ones.

Sometimes I wish that there was a better TV show that could instruct you in better Wellness and Health information than the average Dr. Oz episode like this one. We know you want this knowledge and it needs to be presented without all of the hoopla that Oz brings to his stage. Someday…

Dr. Oz and the Longevity Calculator, When You Will Die, with Healthy Lifestyle Changes to Extend Your Life

Dr. Oz showed Jay and his family that he was going to die prematurely due to the Lifestyle choices he was making. He loves BBQ meats, fast food, and time with his children. He is obese and drinks a lot of alcohol. Of, course, when you change your ways and begin to live a healthy Lifestyle, you increase your Life Span and come to appreciate Longevity through diet, exercise, moderation, and knowledge. All you have to do is to take the test, see where your focus needs to be, and adapt your daily decisions to reflect some basic changes.

Dr. Oz and Oral Cancer: The Risk Factors, the Healthy Solutions, and the Calm Before the Storm

Dr. Oz had an information-packed show today about Oral Cancer, healthy beverages, and ways to calm the nerves.

Let’s start with calming the nerves. I am absolutely ashamed of Dr. Oz for recommending Valerian Root to you. It should not be used alone, but if used at all; it needs to be in a complete formula for nourishing the nervous system. Someone needs to educate the Oz about Valerian Root and safety issues. He is being irresponsible. Herbs need to be used properly.

Next, he recommended both Passionflower and Lemon Balm. If you are going to use Lemon Balm, the most effective form is to apply the Essential Oil of Lemon Balm. Passionflower may or may not give you what you are looking for to calm your nerves. Chamomile Tea is probably more effective, if you want to drink a tea. OK…now let’s talk about the healthy beverages on the segment of Dr. Oz when he brought two friends up on the stage to play his silly games. They had five hundred dollars to risk on the answers to his game questions. First, they bet $400 on Celery. Next, they bet some of their stash on Mango. They did not appear to be aware of the health benefits of Herba Mate. That’s been one of our favorites for years!

If you are going to partake of any of these healthy drinks, do remember to use organic ingredients and produce. You should also use purified water and natural sweeteners to enhance the taste of teas and fruit juices. When you juice your organic fruits fresh, you will get all of the nutrients that are vital to your health. Fresh juice just tastes better, too! Celery juice is usually combined with other vegetables like carrot, beet, ginger root, and even some apple for making a delicious Smoothie.

Now…let’s get to the discussion by Oz and his experts about Oral Cancer. What a rise in the incidence of Oral Cancer cases that the public is not privy to these days! If one of every two people are at risk, then someone needs to pay attention to this health issue. Someone like YOU. If the reason for this increase is due to oral sex; then it involves every couple in addition to every individual.

Dr. Oz tried to make it clear that the only way to prevent Oral Cancer from oral sex was either to abstain or to use condoms. This advice assumes that one of the partners has HPV which has been identified by the experts as one of the leading causes for Oral Cancer.

This virus is highly contagious and is most often passed between partners through sexual interaction or the exchange of bodily fluids or physical contact. The teenage population is at high risk due to their idea that oral sex is still alright while they are busy exchanging partners every other week at their age when they are not getting into committed relationships. Dr. Oz has done shows on this topic before. Education about human sexuality is so necessary these days. I recall when I was pondering all of these things in high school and there was more talk than actual action.

I am against vaccinations for HPV. There are better ways to prevent the spread of this virus and treat it when it is diagnosed before spreading it to sexual partners. We’ve talked about the use of frequency using technology to disrupt the cell walls of viral agents, bacteria, yeast, and cancer cells. We’ve also discussed the use of herbal formulations and Essential Oils. If you must apply a liquid to your body to cleanse your partner or yourself before and after sexual activity; then dilutions of GSE with pure water should be as effective as any other substance in your natural arsenal against these nasty pathogens. Dr. Oz and his experts did suggest that you have your dentist check your mouth during routine dental exam visits. Dentists may be your best first defense in detecting Oral Cancer, but you should be doing your best to prevent any disease with Lifestyle choices and conscious behavior that keeps you from exposure in the first place.

Good Morning America and Dr. Oz: You: An Owner’s Manual for Teens, Does Size Really Matter, and Zoe Appears With Doctor Dad

It’s good to see daughter, Zoe Oz, appearing with her doctor dad on today’s show. She is well-spoken and I hope to hear more from her in future episodes. If she can reach the teen population on TV, perhaps we’ll have a healthier generation with more exposure to information about a healthy Lifestyle.

Dr. Oz appeared on Good Morning America along with his co-author of their new book, You: An Owner’s Manual for Teens. I have not read it yet, but at least they are trying to reach a segment of our society that rarely gets a genuine educational opportunity to read about health and wellness. The age to begin is as soon as a child can read, but surely by the time they are teens; it’s imperative for them to have access to good health care information to learn how to enjoy a healthy Lifestyle for their entire lives. My children were born living a healthy Lifestyle!

I cannot agree with one of the experts that taking birth control pills to regulate a young teen’s period is OK. Anytime a doctor uses hormones to manipulate the female body, the person is entering a zone where the real imbalance and deficiency is NOT adequately nor directly being addressed. So it is overlooked and the energy imbalance continues to be more pronounced, cloaked by drugs. That’s not the smart way to be healthy for teens or older women. It’s ignoring and dismissing the real underlying cause for the irregular period, cramps, skin problems, or any other sign of imbalance. The imbalance is not corrected, just managed… Don’t go there!

The demo for popping a pimple was satisfactory, but where was the information about preventing pimples with a better diet, better cleansing of the skin, and knowledge about bacteria. Get to the root when you are teaching teens…and their knowledge will last a lifetime.

Some parents are too timid to teach their teenage sons about changes in their bodies when they reach puberty and hormones flow. Wet Dreams or nocturnal emissions should be a topic that a young teen boy can discuss with a doctor, a parent, or read about in this new Owner’s Manual book. You should care enough about your kids so that you prepare them for the stages in their lives, instead of letting them walk into them blind and confused. I remember when I was at camp and an older camper started her period. She was afraid that she was dying and had no idea what was happening to her body. No one ever bothered to talk to her about it. My mother bought me a kit and I was ready. It happened while I was playing football in the yard at church. I was ready and it made it simple to attend to everything and get back to playing again.

Older generations in families, educators, healers, and care givers can all play an active role in the education and the provision of information for young people. This is a generational transmission of knowledge that is as natural as any other educational activity to learn how our bodies work and how to take good care of them.

But being in your body and knowing how your physical body works is not the end of the road. When Dr. Oz discussed Vanity Sizing for clothing, it became obvious that people are fixated on an arbitrary number, instead of dealing with really being IN their bodies and knowing their bodies. You are more than a number! It’s much more than an issue about the clothing industry and women who are oblivious to their state of health. Women who are driven by the size of the clothes they wear are not Present and not aware IN their bodies. This is a ‘disconnect’ with reality. No number really matters when you have a realistic self-image and self-esteem. I hope that fewer and fewer women get caught up in the numbers game and find a way to get in touch with the innate physicality. Know your body…

I thought that the advice about Rosemary was interesting and Dr. Oz should have emphasized the use of Rosemary in cooking, more than in a tea or on the grill. But at least there were chef hats on the set – an improvement in my opinion! Now let’s see more demonstrations of applications of Essential Oils and Massage Therapy. Dr. Oz barely touched the audience member’s neck, so how on earth could she think it did much of anything in 30 seconds. Watching Dr. Oz attempt to massage her neck made it obvious that he needs training in this. Let a real expert Massage Therapist do the demo!

Rosemary is best utilized in Essential Oils and in food preparation. The heat on the grill is better managed with the placement of the coals or the heat source. You should have a hot and a moderately hot area on your grill, so you don’t char the meat or the vegetables. The Rosemary sprigs could catch fire and then you are still going to char your meat.
