There’s plenty of fear to go around while the physicians from TheDoctorsTV show visit Chicago and tape one of their new episodes for today’s show.
Dr. Jim made me laugh while he faced his fear of heights by climbing to the viewing window on the Willis Tower of the Sears Tower. I am certain that he couldn’t resist the urge, since his last name is Sears… But he was rather reluctant to step out of the clear platform to take a look Down and Out from high above the city streets. Finally, he made the move to face his fear of heights when a little girl took his hand and walked him over to the platform. One time does not a fear erase, but it’s a good start. He probably died in a previous lifetime by falling off a cliff, but he took it all in stride with the help of a little humor.
If you are afraid of heights, it works best to take small steps in increments to work up to higher and higher spots. But don’t go too high at first, just take your time; so your adrenals don’t become stressed out. There’s no rush in dealing with any fear. It also helps to close your eyes in a safe place and visualize yourself climbing to a high area and breathing normally until you become comfortable with the ‘idea’ of it before you do this in real life. It’s a process…
The next fear that the doctors faced was the fear of bad hot dogs at the ballpark. Chicago is known for Wrigley Field and baseball, so the doctors all took advantage of the occasion to see if hot dogs could taste better than the boring and unhealthy dogs on most street corners or fast food places around the country. The meat is usually of inferior quality, the bun is usually made from white bread with no nutrition, and the condiments are often old, rancid, and lacking in flavor.
The hot dogs that the doctors got to eat were specially designed and named for them. That extra touch takes hot dogs to a new level. Although hot dogs will never reach the ranks of gourmet cuisine; the presentation, the ingredients, and the attention to detail did deliver a better dog. Turkey and Tofu DO make better dogs…. No one should ever feel like they need to restrict their creativity when putting unique and healthy fixings on their hot dogs. When you use fresh ingredients that are made from scratch, instead of bottled, canned, or condiments that come in glass; you’ll be in for a better dog experience. Personally, I prefer a Tofu Pup with organic sauerkraut, organic mustard, and some micro greens.
Last, but not least, the best segment of today’s show was the discussion about Namaste, the Charter School, which is providing healthy food for children along with exercise like Yoga with an intelligent curriculum. The kids are happy here and that should encourage the public schools to take note and follow suit. The kids enjoy a real salad bar for lunch along with other healthy food. They are thriving in this environment and Dr. Jim acknowledged that this should be the new model for school lunch programs across the country.
Even the adorable Jennifer Hudson came to support and acknowledge the children and the school program! She recently lost a lot of weight and is eating better food. She now knows what it means to be in better shape and the value of children engaging in healthy behavior from an early age. Namaste is a great example of what Jamie Oliver and many of us have been trying to accomplish for decades to improve the conditions for a true and authentic educational experience for our youth. I am glad that the doctors noticed and brought it to the attention of their audience.
This season of TheDoctorsTV might be an improvement to last season after all…

This episode has to be one of my favorite of the season with Dr. Oz and Deepak Chopra. The gift to the audience by these two physicians was to reveal that the Mind has more to do with weight loss and weight management than most people realize. That should come as good News!
Deepak Chopra said that Thoughts influence your health, but I am going to tell you the whole truth. Thoughts create your Life and directly determine either your health or your experience of disease in accordance with the way you entertain images, thoughts, and emotion.
Deepak mentioned re-wiring the brain, but he didn’t go into detail with the process except to demonstrate the value of the Breath. With meditation comes the control and regulation of breathing which begins to change your physiological functions within your brain and then your body. This is more magical than you can imagine…
You have the innate ability to change your physical body with Thought. What you think matters… You will see that what you focus upon has an impact upon your health over the course of your lifetime. You are in control of everything with every Thought that is backed up with emotion and released into the bio-energetic field surrounding your body to bring about the experience that mirrors those common Thoughts. You cannot escape this process of co-creation…it is a universal Law inherent within human beings.
Thus…your work is to become conscious of your Thought process and design your Life accordingly. It’s a joy to do this once you grasp the beauty and power that you possess. Life doesn’t happen to you, you are the creative one who builds your Life with every Thought.
I have talked about this on many occasions, so the thing that I want to draw your attention to today is this: You can reform your physical body and alter your health through the intentional design using Thought and emotion properly. It’s a scientific artistic expression that each of us enjoys and the only choice is whether or not to use it wisely by being a conscious participant as the Designer. The Quantum Physicists call this: The Observer.
Let’s talk about it in the context of weight loss and management. If you are not satisfied with the shape and form of your body, you can use your Mind to change your Body. This will actually alter the connections between neurons in your brain and bring about physiological changes in your body. It may take some time, but it works as long as you give it your undivided attention and know what you are doing. You can lose excess weight, gain weight if you are too thin, and learn how to maintain your ideal weight and body size. When you reshape your image this way, you will notice changes until you appear exactly the way you see yourself when you close your eyes, draw a picture, or alter a photograph. Your body will conform to your Thoughts, imaging, and the emotional value you assign to this process.
Of, course, it’s more involved, but at least you know now that you have the power to do this. Your genetic material, DNA, and telomeres can be proven to change when you engage this process. You can control your weight and shape your entire Life using this knowledge and applying it constantly. This results in reversing the Aging process and even more…but that’s a subject for another day.
Dr. Oz and Deepak Chopra Information
While I will call this Contemplation rather than Meditation, the knowledge comes from the same ancient source. It’s an active process, instead of being a passive witness to your breath or heartbeat; so it is taken to the next step beyond what Deepak does… But you can begin with the Breath and learn how to become aware of your body using a meditation technique. Then you can graduate to a more intensive process of Contemplation and creative genius.

This is one of the most important episodes of the Doctor Oz TV show that you can watch to learn what water filters are best for your home and office.
Dr. Oz featured three experts who described the deplorable condition of water quality in municipal water supplies in this country.
Later in the show, Dr. Oz discussed the different types of Water Filters and the conditions for choosing them. There is a lot of variety and your specific region of the country will determine which one is right for you. Not all filtering systems are created equal, nor are they priced the same; so this is some information that is very significant for you.
Here is the URL that will take you to the Dr. Oz website where you can read about Water Filters and what you need to know when selecting the best type for you.
Dr. Oz Information About Water Filtering Systems
First you will need to determine what your city or town is doing to provide pure water to your house or office or school. If it doesn’t make the grade, then you are going to need a really good filtering system for your entire house or your office if you make tea, coffee, food, or take a drink of water while you are working during the day.
Next, you need to determine the prevalence of contamination in your region of the country. Is there a manufacturing facility, an industrial plant, an agricultural business, or any other type of large company that releases chemicals or toxins that can get into your water supply? You might have to do a lot of research to get to the bottom of this, so if you don’t have the time or the expertise; then make an assumption that there are chemicals that you need to filter for and plan accordingly.
It’s important to think about the kinds of particulate that might be dissolved in your water that you need to filter out. It could be lead, it could be arsenic, it could be any number of toxic chemicals that are being used in business and industry. It is all going to take a major toll on your health, so you don’t want to be drinking water that might poison you…EVER!
The best bet to be absolutely certain that there is only hydrogen and oxygen in your water is to use a good distiller. I will recommend the best on the market, if you leave a Comment requesting a referral. They run between $1500 and $2200, so your purest water is not going to be inexpensive; but you will be confident that it is as pure as humanly possible.
If you have to settle for a basic Water Filter, then at least buy the best that you can afford. This is not the time to cut corners financially. This is an investment in your present and future health. Water is the one thing that makes the most difference in your health next to the quality of food you eat every day and it may even be tied at that…
When it becomes apparent that you need a whole house system or an office system that is comprehensive, then we recommend the Tyent company. They are well-respected and reliable in the water purification industry.
Tyent USA Water Filtering Systems
Now…let’s talk about bottled water for a moment. If you cannot be sure that the source of the water comes from a spring or a pristine source that has been protected from environmental contaminants; then don’t buy that brand. It’s imperative that you choose the best bottled water on the market. You may not have a wide selection in your grocery store, but you can ask them to carry a good brand for you as long as they know you are going to buy it regularly. If you want a specific referral for a brand, just leave a Comment and let me that it is for bottled water.

Dr. Oz and his guest Tim, who is NOT a doctor, but a self-proclaimed guinea pig shared some of the worst advice about weight management with his 4 Hour Diet.
It’s complicated and you will most likely be unable to tolerate the stupid suggestions that Tim made to enable you to lose a few pounds by doing some ridiculous things to burn calories.
It’s counter-productive. While you are spending more and more time trying out these ideas to burn a few extra calories, you are going to become a raving lunatic who exhibits obsessive or compulsive behavior. This is a mental case that defies reason, even though he claims that there is good science behind his data. Poppycock!
It’s confusing to your body. Your body is going to wonder what in the world you are thinking by doing things to it that are irrational, damaging, and forceful in a negative environment of demanding it to do something when you are really engaging in erratic behavior by pigging out, eating too much protein all at once, and shocking your body with ice.
Dr. Oz said that there are critics and I am going to take a stand of being a vocal one. I could never get behind these regimens just for the sake of losing a couple of pounds while you are cheating your health by participating in harmful activities.
Look…there are smarter and better ways to approach weight management. I expect you to use your inherent intelligent and throw out these ideas of Tim’s with your bath water…
At best, he is giving people an excuse for unhealthy behavior by covering for those choices with extreme measures to shock the body back into calorie redemption. Yikes!
No one in their right mind would willingly do this to their body. It is bordering on being abusive. Only a masochist would be able to justify doing this to his body. I hope that you show kindness to your body. You’ll get better results which will last a lifetime.
If you are going to pig out once a week to justify Tim’s plan, then you are going to damage your long-term health. I looked at those cupcakes and all the other junk food that was on the table that Tim and Dr. Oz approved of for your binge day. I would NEVER put any of those foods in my beautiful body, let alone stuff my stomach and gorge my gut with that crap! Just refuse to lose your mind…
The only decent and rational thing was to do some squats following a meal with excess calories. But you don’t have to indulge in horrific processed foods before you do some exercise. This guy is brutal…
If you are going to sit in front of your TV and ice your neck, your chest, or any other part of your body; then you need to stand up instead and take a long walk. Ice may be useful for sports injuries, but you are silly to suppose that the average person is going to willingly endure daily ice packs for a period of time. If you choose some other more productive activity in the time that it takes you to prepare the ice packs, you’ll be ahead of the game. Use your brain, people!
If you are going to wake up in the morning and engorge your body with tons of protein, then you have just had the wool pulled over your eyes. You would be starting on a path to unhealthy and ridiculous behaviors that will ultimately betray you. Your health will suffer… The idea that you can eat a bunch of sausages or half a dozen eggs just to try to trick your body into metabolic freefall; then think again. There are definitely better ways to go about supporting your body to utilize the normal calories you ingest with a healthy breakfast. I find it appalling to resort to gimmicks and tricks… Just say, “NO”…
Tim is twisted. Dr. Oz is on the fence with this and gave his usual caveats… I am taking a firm stand and telling you to find another way. There are healthy ways to manage your weight and then there is the 4 Hour Diet that will devastate your health over time.
Dr. Oz and the 4 Hour Diet Disaster Plan
You can begin to be more satisfied with your weight by eating whole foods and eliminating processed foods. If you want to do something that doesn’t take any time at all that will result in an average weight loss of two pounds a week; then you can take four minutes a day to take Vital 18 with juice or chocolate soy milk three times a day with two good meals and a healthy breakfast. This has worked for people for decades in this country and in other parts of the world. It tastes good, it is pleasing to your body, and you will prefer it to the disaster plan that Tim presented to you today on Dr. Oz.

This last week Rachael Ray had several guests appear on her TV show with good news for those who want to enjoy a healthy Lifestyle.
Believe it or not, all of those weird and crazy signs of aging in the woman who has passed menopause and is encountering changing levels in her hormonal balance is due to these chemical imbalances. The moodiness, the forgetfulness, the irritability, and the woman’s own self-concept is at the mercy of hormone levels.
You just thought that you had more control over your emotional and mental states than what the body dishes up when menopause induces changed levels of hormones! Now you know that it’s not permanent. When you forget why you went into a room, you can now find hope that you can reclaim your memory. You can be in a good mood again…
It takes a healthy Lifestyle with whole foods, herbs, nutritional supplements, and Essential Oils to restore Balance. But it can be done! That’s the good news for the day, the year, and the rest of your life…
One of the most obvious ways to cause imbalances in your hormone levels is to eat meat that has been injected or raised with synthetic hormones to speed growth and get the animals to market fatter, quickly, and with total disregard for human health. If you want to maintain healthy levels of hormones in your body, you will only eat meats that are in their natural state. One source is Fossil Farms for both traditional meats and exotic meats.
Fossil Farms
Most deficiencies or imbalances can be corrected with natural methods and holistic products and whole foods. This is far better than hormone replacement therapy with chemical substitutes that the human body often rejects or dismisses. Dr. Northrup explained how this works and the audience members shared their personal experiences. Even your female brain is going to replay ancient history to self-correct your personal image of who you are. This should empower every woman of any age. Your hormones are your friends when you are present and aware of what your body, mind, and spirit are telling you.
Dr. Levine discussed high heels with Rachael. Many of the immature women in her audience were so ridiculously attached to their high heels, that they were willing to endure physical pain, falling down, and embarrassment in public for the sake of fashion. I find that utterly disappointing!
If you cannot wear footwear that keeps you healthy, then you are your own worst enemy and you will self-destruct. You are the cause of your back pain, hip pain, neck pain, foot pain, and anyone who gets close to you will not think that you are showing any intelligent behavior at all!
At least use an organic product to soothe your aching feet when you come home from a day or evening of wearing your six inch heels! Here is one product that will make you feel human again and willing to walk on your feet…
Faithful Feet Massage Oil – natural massage oil comprises a blend of aromatherapy oils especially intended for foot massage.
I gave up wearing high heels long ago and I was still considered fashionable and looking mighty fine while in public giving presentations, training therapists, and meeting with clients, even while out on the town dancing and partying with the rest of my wild and crazy friends. It was fine with them that I cared enough about my own comfort to not try to do the silly thing by wearing shoes as if they were stilts or elevators to the top floor. I was never willing to do THAT to my precious body. To this day, I wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t bind, cut off circulation, or impair the normal function of my body or alter my anatomy…
I rather liked that Rachael ended her show with an uplifting segment about a young girl named Madeline. She is helping other children her age learn how to garden, exercise, and make healthy snack choices. This is inspiring and could be the model for hundreds of thousands of girls her age…and bring on the boys, too.
These kids are enjoying the fun experience of getting their hands in the soil, growing real food, and moving their bodies to keep them healthy. They are the kind of girls who will never get lost in the illusion of wearing high heels just to make an artificial fashion statement. No…they’ll be the owners of sustainable businesses that sell healthy footwear to women!
If we can continue to get our youth to replace poor Lifestyle choices with healthy ones, then the next generation will live longer and be more vibrant than the last three generations. This is the best news yet!

Dr. Oz told his audience that the time when a person does things actually makes a difference for weight loss and management on today’s show.
He reminded people that the average American gets up around 6:30 a.m. in the morning. It’s that time when it is best to weigh your body on a scale every day for consistency. You most likely will weigh less than you would for the rest of the day and evening in the morning when you first wake up.
So if you weight yourself the first thing in the morning after getting out of bed, you are going to find out what your weight is doing month after month with greater accuracy.
You can find more out about the advice on this topic at the De. Oz website here:
Doctor Oz
After you are done weighing yourself and being pleased or disappointed with the change in pounds that you carry; you are going to engage in some form of exercise for better results in getting your body in shape. Most people are not going to make time for exercise this early in the day, because they are getting ready for work. You can do this on weekends or when you get a day off from work instead and find a time after work during the week to fit in at least a half hour walk or some other form of exercise.
I did not like the advice that Dr. Oz shared after this. He told people to drink a glass of ice cold water to lose a pound a year. Look, people, ice cold water shocks the stomach and the digestive system. It has to expend energy to return the cold liquid to body temperature which is what is going to burn calories, but it is still a shock to the body and not the best way to burn a few calories daily.
My advice to you is to drink your water and other beverages at room temperature or as hot tea. Once you experience the difference that this makes in the way your stomach feels, you won’t insult your body by throwing freezing drinks down into your tummy. You need to develop a healthy respect for your body and choose not to compromise your health for the sake of caloric extrapolation. There are dozens of other better ways to burn a few calories that are helpful to your body!
If you still insist on drinking cold beverages with ice or a frosty glass direct from the refrigerator; then at least have some food or beverage in your stomach that was ingested at room temperature or a little higher. It’s not good to drink your tea or coffee or hot chocolate too hot either. Remember balance and moderation in all things…
Next…the good doctor suggested that people eat within an hour of awakening. Then it is advised that a person eats about every four to five hours throughout the day. Dr. Oz cautioned people not to eat closer to bedtime than three hours. He also warned people that if they wait too long between meals to eat again, they might be more likely to cheat by eating junk food. I am certain this happens all the time for a lot of people.
Instead of letting desperation and hunger rule your choices, carry a healthy snack around with you or have some stashed at home or at work. Then you won’t have any excuse for not being able to give your body the healthiest food possible to maintain your health and satisfy your hunger. Nuts, seeds, snack bars, and healthy candies like ginger root chews make good choices possible.
You should shop when you have the time to select healthy foods from the local market and go home to take care of your fresh produce. Dr. Oz thinks that you should shop in the morning around 10:00, but what do you do if you are working or busy with other errands that are far from the store? I recommend that you carefully plan your Shopping List and find a suitable time in your personal schedule to shop and gather everything you might need for the day and any items that will be prepared for the week that won’t spoil like dried goods.
Italians and other cultures from the Mediterranean often shop for fresh produce every day. That’s what we do! Then you will satisfy your hunger for what you are wanting to eat, instead of a contrived weekly menu and you will get the freshest produce available in the marketplace. Your herbs, salad greens, dark leafy greens, fruit, and vegetables can be purchased this way daily. Your dried beans, legumes, whole grains, seaweed, and many spices can be purchased in bulk to last for months and supplemented as needed. Also…when you are buying fresh nuts, you want to make sure that they are not rancid and that they are the freshest nuts available. Don’t buy canned nuts, buy them from the bulk bins instead…
If you take nutritional supplements or herbal elixirs, you can find out what time is ideal for your body by using the EAV evaluation. It varies for each individual. If you don’t have access to this equipment, then half an hour before meals might make the most sense up to fifteen minutes before you eat with enough fluids to break down the tablets, dissolve the capsules, and rehydrate the raw materials sufficiently.
Rather than taking a fiber supplement as Dr. Oz suggests, you can find a few minutes during the day to actually eat a whole food that is high in fiber! Now…we understand that is a novel approach! LOL Your body will thank you for eating a food, instead of resorting to a fiber supplement. Most people don’t drink enough water with fiber supplements and you don’t want to waterlog your body before dinner or bedtime either. Surely a whole food source of fiber will be more enjoyable!
Even though I am telling you to use whole foods to get your fiber, some of you will resort to a supplement; so you might as well get one of the best brands on the market. There are even fiber supplements for kids in the form of Gummy Bears. You will find what you are looking for with a wide selection from HerbTrader by just doing a Search for Fiber Supplements:
Over 8,000 organic, natural, and eco-friendly products
The time that you do things does matter! Humans have their own internal clocks that regulate metabolism and bodily functions. In TCM, we pay attention to the bio-energetic cycles in two hour periods when the Chi or energy flows through specific meridians, organs, and systems. The body is amazing and when you are in harmony with your cycles, you will enjoy greater health and well-being.

Martha repeated this episode about Makers Faire with a woman who showed how she is using some recycled plastic water bottles to grow a vertical hydroponic garden of greens.
This system uses space wisely!
The liquid nutrients are bubbled up to be distributed to the plants and the root systems are healthy while being protected by a white coat of paint on the bottom portion of the bottles.
There is a social community network of 17,000 members who are experimenting with this growing system and you can get a lot of help and useful ideas from all of your fellow growers.

It was the last thing that the experts and Dr. Oz admitted while talking about Pancreatic Cancer on today’s show. It seems that there is some evidence among the research that has been done thus far to point the finger at refined sugar and artificial sweeteners that alter the pancreas.
Doctors find it difficult to diagnose this form of cancer due to the location and slow growth in the pancreas. There are signs of abdominal and back pain along with other symptoms like pale stools and dark urine, but many people ignore their body’s early warning signals or think that it is attributed to another organ or system.
Refined sugar and artificial sweeteners change the way the function of the pancreas does its job. It’s no wonder to holistic practitioners that this can disrupt the natural mechanisms of the body and open the door to disease. Although doctors are trying to develop a vaccine, we all know that that approach is not ideal.
A healthy Lifestyle will do more for a person to preclude the origins of cancer and to maintain the health of the pancreas when whole foods and natural beverages are the only foods consumed, instead of processed foods, synthetic chemicals in beverages, and items with added sugars.
We’ve been discussing this from the days of the book that described the roller coaster ride the body endures when a person ingests refined white sugar many decades ago. It’s strange that it is taking so long for doctors to comprehend this situation. Better late than never…
In TCM there are many herbal formulations that nourish and support the Earth Element and Spleen Meridian. If you visit your acupuncturist, talk about that and you can take preventive measures to address any imbalance.
You can eat whole organic fresh fruit, instead of processed juices or canned fruit. You can enjoy whole grains, instead of eating cereal with milk for breakfast. You can get minerals from your vegetables and seaweed and greens to provide the nutrients that are so vital to the pancreas and other organs for staying healthy and functioning properly. It’s not much of a leap to realize that your Lifestyle choices over the course of your Life really do make a profound difference.
Be kind to your pancreas and it will take good care of you…
