The Today Show reported on another study regarding Chocolate today and yet again, it’s looking like your healthy love for Chocolate is going to contribute to your healthy heart.
Heart Disease, strokes, and diabetes were looked at in this recent study. While they were extremely limited in the way the study was designed, the conclusions do support the use of Chocolate for one’s health.
The study failed to specify the quantity of the type of Chocolate consumed. Some was eaten once a week and some once a month without discerning whether it was dark Chocolate, milk Chocolate, or cacao powder. There was no distinction in that regard…
That’s a major oversight!
There are numerous research studies which conclude that dark Chocolate is preferable to other types of chocolate when it comes to health benefits. Some studies show that there is weight gain with milk chocolate that is sweetened with refined sugar and contains dairy products.
There really needs to be more intentional guidelines for future research to discern between these variables before you believe one or the other study above all others.
In the interim, we would recommend that you choose organic dark Chocolate and raw organic cacao powder for your health goals. There’s more evidence pointing in that direction…
You might want to consider avoiding any chocolate that contains dairy products, refined sugar or artificial sweeteners, or any flavoring agent that is synthetic. Real organic and raw ingredients do hold a lot of promise. We are not going to wait for a study to eat our way to health with organic dark Chocolate and raw organic cacao powder to use as an ingredient in anything we prepare in our kitchens.
There are many brands in your local Whole Foods Markets that measure up to our standards. Furthermore, you can find healthy Chocolate at VitalChoice or Love Street Living Foods.
Love Street Living Foods
We fell in love with the Chocolate Spread and the other delectable goodies from this company who specializes in raw and organic whole foods and ingredients. There are some very special chocolate treats that you can feel good about that will keep your body in good condition, too.
VitalChoice Organic Chocolate
A healthy Chocolate Bar is a great snack and a wonderful gift for someone you care about enough to give them the very best! There are numerous blends with fruits and nuts for you to choose from at VitalChoice.
You don’t really need another research study to conclude that chocolate is good for your health. You know it when you eat it. But it never hurts to get confirmation every now and then when Chocolate is back in the News. Enjoy your love of organic Chocolate while your heart, circulatory system, digestive system, and for all intents and purposes, your entire body benefits from continuing to entertain chocolate for the ‘health’ of it!

This repeat episode of TheDoctorsTV featured Jillian revving up the ways to burn calories through exercise. But the star of the show was the subject of SEX.
Dr. Travis discussed how much and how long a person would need to engage in sexual activity to burn those calories from cookies, burgers, and other foods.
Avocado, chili peppers, celery, and sauerkraut were among the foods mentioned by the docs for various reasons.
TheDoctorsTV and Burning Calories Through Sex
It was a surprise to Jillian to learn that it would take around 45 minutes to burn off the calories from a single snack. Who could endure that?
Look…it is unrealistic to expect to have enough sex to make up for eating junk food. You might as well change your choices and eat food that supports your health and improves your sexual performance simultaneously. That’s the ticket!
The doctors and Jillian suggested some foods for better sex, but they left out the most valuable foods we know of that nourish the Kidney Chi and the reproductive system. Oh, well, they’re doctors and not experts when it comes to food and nutrition…
The first time this episode aired we gave you some idea of which foods are ideal for supporting healthy sexuality. There are also foods which are perfectly suited for being oriented toward burning more calories.
Thermogenic foods are often suggested for boosting metabolism and stimulating the use of calories to accomplish this task. Hot or warming foods are generally among those which are considered more effective in this process. Spices and spicy foods like peppers are the most common choices and the easiest to find at the grocery store.
But no one is telling you that foods with a ‘cold’ or ‘cooling’ nature can make the metabolic process sluggish. Dairy, iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, and other cooling foods slow down the body. A delicate Balance of cooling and warming and neutral foods is the ideal combination. For instance, organic brown rice is neutral in nature and when combined with root vegetables will be more conducive to efficient caloric energy usage by your body.
When you include spices like oregano, thyme, cayenne, garlic, ginger root, and rosemary; the body goes into action to warm the interior and encourage a strong healthy response to a dish like whole grains and vegetables.
If you want to shape your body into your ideal form while improving your health, then traditional styles of Yoga are going to do more for you than Jillian’s reconfiguration. Have you spent much time researching those who engage in Yoga for years? They are sleek, slender, strong, filled with vitality, and beautifully sculptured human beings! It doesn’t take working up a sweat to accomplish that, even though ‘hot yoga’ is a new trend.
Dr. Drew talked briefly about celery as a phermone-releasing food that encourages sexual responsiveness. Dr. Jim thought that a fragrance with celery would do the trick. Alas, there are phermones that you can spritz on your body to elicit a response in people that can be perceived as exuding sexual energy. When you eat a healthy whole foods diet, your sexual energy will be intact and you will be more formidable in bed than ever before…
But sex is not a sporting event! The doctors, especially Dr. Travis equates it far too often with peak performance in an athlete. Intimacy doesn’t demand the expenditure of a lot of energy or the burning of hundreds of calories to be satisfying and fully gratifying. Let’s be realistic here. A loving gaze into your partner’s eyes is far more sexually pleasing that pumping for mindless minutes… Burning calories during sexual activity should be the furthest thing from you mind!
Lifting weights, working out in the gym, going for walks, riding your bike, skiing, swimming, playing tennis or golf, climbing mountains, kayaking down a wild river, repelling off the face of a steep cliff. These are the things that will burn calories and be exhilarating… But the smart thing to do is to eat healthy foods AND be physically active. Live your Life! Counting calories will be one of the last things on your mind, yet your body will support your active Lifestyle and keep you in good shape.

We recognize the ‘celebrity’ of these famous people for their acting careers and their skating ability which entertain us; but few people know that these fine folks are also accomplished cooks!
Linda Evans caught our attention when she was on a Western series, “The Big Valley” on television several decades ago. Then her stature as a beautiful woman and accomplished actress catapulted her to the forefront as she brought drama amid elegance to “Dynasty”. Linda went on to pursue her spiritual Life just down the road from where we live while organizing concerts with Yanni for audiences around the world. Then she showed us just how well she can cook! She prepared heavenly dishes on “Hell’s Kitchen”. She appeared recently on Rachel Ray’s television show and her warm presence is as profound as ever.
Linda just published her new book. It might be the perfect new accompaniment for your kitchen library! She has elevated her food preparation to be worthy of providing a Feast for the most special of guests who pay a small fortune to sit at the table with a fabled friend of ours.
Linda’s Official Website: Recipes for Life
Then there’s Eva Longoria. We know her best from “Desperate Housewives”. She has been making the drama of relationships move us to tears or to unbridled laughter.
Eva recently appeared on Martha Stewart’s show to promote her new cookbook and demonstrate a dish for the audience. It made my mouth water and I had Mexican food after watching that episode. Her roots are deep and she honors her heritage when she prepares a meal. I was just as pleased with her eloquence as much as her recipe.
Eva’s Kitchen Interview with Prevention
What would we say about Brian Boitano? We know what he would say and we’ve been watching what he can cook. He has a show on the Food Network. He can cook almost as well as he can skate and entertain… In fact, he’s a funny guy! He gives good tips and explains what he is doing while skating through his recipes to make it very accessible.
Brian on the Food Network
While these celebrities have a long way to go to offer healthy fare, they are doing a great job to make the kitchen an entertaining place to be for all of us! That is as much a component of a healthy Lifestyle as any other attribute…
I have a healthy respect for famous people who spend time taking care of themselves by cooking their own food and sharing it with their friends and families. They can afford personal chefs and often eat at the finest restaurants on the planet; but there’s a lot to be said about having mastered skills in your own kitchen and finding satisfaction and joy in the preparation of your own food. That’s an ACT that is hard to follow with something as equally as important as one’s own nourishment and sustenance!

Tomorrow on CNN, Dr. Sanjay Gupta will feature a segment specifically on heart disease and prevention. Recently, he interviewed former President Bill Clinton about a vegan diet and the benefit for the heart and circulatory system.
The Special will air on Saturday, August 27th, at 8 and 11 p.m EST on CNN. You can find out more on Dr. Gupta’s Blog.
CNN and Dr. Sanjay Gupta: The Last Heart Attack
As if one heart attack is not enough to make a person change their behavior to prevent a repeat lack of performance by the ‘big ticker’; there are some healthy Lifestyle changes that can be implemented to reduce the possibility for a second heart attack or other problems associated with heart disease or circulatory problems.
The Vegan Diet is but one option for those scrutinizing individuals who realize that the food that you eat makes a big difference in the potential for health concerns with the heart. The Raw Foods diets and Whole Foods dietary regimens have been known to have turned around the ravages of heart disease and begin the arduous process of regeneration of the body’s organs and systems while improving the function at the same time.
It’s time that you begin to shop at your Whole Foods Markets, your local Food Coops, and with our affiliate partiners online to start eating the healthy foods that will keep your heart healthy. You won’t find a better source for Raw Foods, Whole Foods, and Superfoods on the Net! Visit our friends at Love Street Living Foods:

The obvious Lifestyle factors like smoking, exercise, attitude, satisfaction in relationships and at work all play a vital role in the health of your heart. Your emotional health does have a significant impact upon your physical health. The mental and spiritual aspects also carry a lot of weight when it comes to your heart. The Fourth Seal and the three below it can be either in a state of Balance or thrown out of balance with strong emotion, mental stress, or your approach to your spirituality.
The Fool-Proof Diet Information from Dr. Gupta’s Special on Heart Attacks
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we recommend that foods which nourish the Fire Element are eaten to strengthen the heart and circulatory system as well as the small intestine. Red meat in moderation from grass-fed free range beef, ostrich, and other critters has a place in heart health. Whole Foods that are colorful with vibrant hues, especially vegetables and fruits are useful in promoting the health of the heart. Fresh organic tropical and citrus fruits help with fatty metabolism and digestive enzymes that play an important role in keeping the blood, the circulatory system, and the digestive system healthy and functioning properly.
It’s going to be significant to eliminate fried foods, breaded foods, baked goods, dairy products, unhealthy oils, fast food, commercial salt, refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, synthetic chemicals, isolated vitamins and minerals added to foods like cereals, cereals, processed foods, and food that is heated to the extreme which changes it biochemical nature.
That’s a lot of ‘no-nos’, but it’s better than having a second or even a first heart attack. Besides…once you adopt a healthy diet of Whole Foods and a healthy Lifestyle, you will start feeling so good that you will never look back nor regret this decision. Your zest for living will fill any void created by eliminating the foods that are causing heart disease.
Furthermore, if you take up Tai Chi or Yoga, get some Massage Therapy or Bodywork, use specific Essential Oils, supplement your diet with minerals, and drink healthy beverages; you are going to notice a distinct change in your level of vitality. When your energy returns and you find that your stamina is back, you won’t sabotage the progress you’ve made. I hope that you take this information to ‘heart’.

Dr. Lisa is one of the physicians on TheDoctorsTV who often discusses human sexuality issues and hot topics.
The repeat episode which aired today talked about ‘female parts’. But the most telling information was given at the end of the program.
Dr. Lisa told the audience about the brain. The brain is the most important organ in the human body when it comes to arousal, performance, and satisfaction. If it doesn’t happen in the brain first…it won’t happen anywhere else in the body.
The very last morsel that Dr. Lisa gave to the audience before the credits rolled was the relative value of “Tantric Sex”. She rubbed her hands together and pulled them apart hoping to ‘feel’ the ‘energy’ that is responsible for orgasm and arousal in the human body.
It is much more complicated and sophisticated than Dr. Lisa knows… I don’t think she has had any personal experience with Tantra. Such is Life. It is not a good idea to put your faith in a doctor who hasn’t personally experienced what they are recommending to their patients and their audience!
Now…let be be clear about this. I do have experience with Tantric practices and Tantric Sex. I am no expert, because I felt that Margo Anand presented her knowledge of the ancient art and practice in a limited manner back in the 1980s. I later explored the spiritual aspects of learning how to move your energy through one and then all seven Seals of the human body. Tantra is for mastering the movement of energy to the seventh Seal and only those who are fixated on the first Seal use the knowledge for sexual gratification.
Margo Anand only dabbled with Tantra at the feet of her Guru when sex was the primary form of interaction and expression and connection with so many of those who followed this guy from Oregon. You can imagine who I am referring to… While there were many people in our San Diego and North County community who participated in this approach, it only led to behavior that could best be labeled as an orgy among friends and seminar participants with very few committed couples.
There is plenty of information about Tantric Sex that is written about in books, but most of the in-depth knowledge will still be needed to be translated from the various Indian and Tibetan dialects. You can see the images and statues of tantric partners in these regions in their temples, architecture, thangkas, and other art forms. Some consider it to be ‘secret’ or ‘esoteric’ when it comes to the spiritual applications above and beyond the obvious display of sensual pleasure. Perhaps it should remain so…
Example of Tibetan Thangka featuring Tantra
When a human being learns to master the movement of energy within their own body and then engages in sharing their energy with a partner in an intimate interaction; then it goes beyond the doctor’s curiosity for orgasms and moves into the territory of bringing forth a child in the splendor of spiritual bliss. I have two such children!

Several days ago I read about the mother of an adopted child who decided to discipline her son by forcing him to ingest Hot Sauce as a punishment for misbehaving as well as putting the boy into a cold shower to teach him a lesson. That is most certainly crossing the border of what constitutes Child Abuse!
Woman Convicted of Child Abuse in Hot Sauce Case
This woman actually sent a film clip to the Dr. Phil show thinking that she would get on the television program! When the public saw her story, the authorities got involved and investigated her for Child Abuse. She was convicted for using Hot Sauce as punishment when her Russian-born adopted son lied about getting into trouble in school.
Now she’s in trouble for shoving Hot Sauce down this child’s throat and then forcing him to stand in a cold shower for pretending to have a sword fight with pencils at school. She needs extensive counseling to learn healthy parenting skills. She is not fit to parent and I hope that the courts and the social workers consider placing the children in her home in the care of alternative providers until she can demonstrate that she has redeemed herself and learned more mature methods of discipline and child care.
Corporal Punishment goes beyond the typical spanking or beating or belting to include using harsh physical substances which cause pain and discomfort to the child. Some parents will bite the child who bites them, but in this case; it’s better not to force this woman to ingest Hot Sauce to teach her a lesson. She would be better rehabilitated by requiring her to prepare food at a public school under the watchful management of other kitchen staff in a cafeteria and learn to serve children, instead of injure them with food.
Hot Sauce can be abusive to the human body, even when it is not intended as a punishment. Some people are going to extremes to endure the ‘heat’ of peppers that are off the Skoville scale like the ghost peppers. There are even restaurants and collectors who get the key ingredient in hot peppers and use it in recipes for Hot Sauces. They yearn for the burn! This is a distressing trend that is just as harmful as other forms of physical abuse.
The human digestive system is not equipped for extreme ‘heat’. Relatively hot and warming foods occur in nature, but there is only one species that combines foods in such a way as to obliterate the taste buds, set fire to the stomach lining, and irritate the intestines to the point of blistering rawness that costs a big price in the end…
It’s not a ‘manly’ thing to do to try to consume the ‘hottest’ of the Hot Sauces on wings and things! It’s stupid and these people are fools that have no respect for their bodies. No woman should ever force a child to consume Hot Sauce either. Food should not be the enemy nor the source of punishment or control over another human being, especially a child.
In other health News, Joey Vento who was the owner of Geno’s Steaks and an icon for Philly Cheesesteaks died of a heart attack after being diagnosed for colorectal cancer.
Geno’s Philly Cheesesteaks Owner Dies of Heart Attack
Two strikes against the friendly man who learned the business from his father in the 1940s and asked people nicely to speak English when ordering their cheesesteaks in his establishment. He got a lot of flack for his request, but many Italian immigrants held the attitude of adopting the primary language of the country where they moved to out of respect…not discrimination! My own grandfather told my mother that he did not want to teach her Italian at an early age, because she should speak English in America to honor her new home!
It’s a cultural thing to speak the primary language in a new country and to go into business by providing traditional foods to your neighborhood. These Italian immigrants probably used more cheese, more fatty ingredients, and fewer vegetables in their steak sandwiches than what you normally find in Italy; but the Philadelphia public loved to eat them that way.
It goes to show you that it was an unhealthy choice in food. Cancer in the digestive system and heart disease is not considered a healthy result of eating Philly Cheesesteaks for decades, even though you have a jovial attitude. If only those sandwiches had been full of more onions, green and red peppers, garlic, and sea salt. Perhaps if Joey had known the secrets of including fresh citrus juices like lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, tangerine, and mandarin to his diet to combat the fat; he might have lived a little longer and been healthier with some minor changes in his food regimen. But he probably ate what he served in his restaurant…
Meat and cheese are not usually the stars of the show in Italy. They use meat in moderation and place greater emphasis on fresh produce, spices, herbs, and greens that people do in the United States’ version of Italian food. Meat and cheese need to be more minor ingredients to prevent these health problems. Live and learn…or eat that way only to die to set an example for future generations!
All things considered, food needs to be used as a source for nourishment and health, instead of over-indulgence and punishment. The borders are clear for most of us, but there are those who blur those boundaries of what is appropriate and what constitutes abusive behavior.

One of the icons of the healthy food movement in America, Alice Waters, is working with actor Jake Gyllenhaal to bring Edible Gardening and healthy food to children in schools.
The Today Show: The Edible Garden
Jake and Alice are getting their hands in the soil with the students in a dozen schools and taking them into the kitchen to cook what they grow. The kids love to eat what they have nurtured and harvested from the community gardens at their public schools. This is a trend whose time has come…
In many countries, it’s been a constant to teach children to go into the garden and the field and grow the food that their families and communities eat and share together. Jake made the point of describing how he came to know his family and they came to know him at the dinner table. Sharing food is more than mere consumption, it nourishes the bonds that strengthen us and join us together as a human family.
It is about time that our schools in America follow suit and get our children outside, hands in the good earth, and planting the foods that they will learn to feed their bodies and their souls. It should be the basis for every school’s curriculum!
When we see young kids eating kale, making crepes, and laughing while they plant more basil; you know that our educational system for living healthy has a bright future. The cost of health care will be lower, the children will thrive, and hunger will be replaced by learning how to exchange seeds and share our productive harvests.
We recently watched Jake Gyllenhaal play a strong role in SourceCode where he learned the nature of reality and parallel timelines that Quantum Physics has yet to teach the average human being how to design the life that they want to live. SourceCode was one of those monumental flicks that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what can possibly come next while exploring deep Thoughts about the nature of Reality and the exploration of Human Consciousness.
Time Reassignment was compared to Time Travel and the contrast in understanding can open up a door for kids in the garden and adults in the kitchen. Imagine for a moment what your world would look like when every member of your family was engaged in growing your own food, preparing your own food, and sharing your food with your neighbors. The joy, happiness, peace of mind, and health of the relationship to the soil, the people, and the food binds you in ways that our busy lifestyles have all but forgotten.
It’s time for a healthy Lifestyle and a return to the natural order of things…
You can be instrumental in bringing this to your community and your home garden. Go to your local schools and youth groups to encourage gardening and cooking skills with your children and students. You can build a Community Garden and share plots with local people who share the common ground to grow what they want to eat and exchange the excess with their neighbors. No one in this nation needs to go hungry when we all work together to feed one another and the next generation.
