Dr. Oz and the Carbs That Make Diets Work or Fail: Chris Powell Meets the Sisters

October 10th, 2011

Dr. Oz once again is talking about Diets. This time on today’s show, he introduced Chris Powell who usually works with extremely obese individuals and features their stories on TV.

Chris talked CARBS…

Dr. Oz and Chris Powell on Carbs and Dieting

He begins with people by throwing out their refined carbohydrate-laden foods like potato chips, cakes, cookies, flour, and similar foods that pack on the pounds.

Chris met with two sisters who want to tackle their weight issues. He had them running up the desert mountain path to inspire them. I recognized that mountain range around Phoenix, Arizona where I once lived and taught people the value of a healthy Lifestyle.

The transformation of an obese body begins with the Mind Set. You have to have the passion and motivation to change your body image through a healthy Lifestyle. Exercise is only one of the ways this happens. Chris and Dr. Oz talked about three things.

The environment was probably the most profound aspect that they presented to the audience. You have to remove the unhealthy food from your kitchen pantry and put healthy items there to replace them. You have to discipline yourself to purchase only the best and highest quality of healthy foods to eat from now on. It’s imperative that you don’t cheat yourself into complacency or gimmicks.

Chris showed the audience a neat gadget with a metal spring inside the beverage container to mix a protein drink at home or on the road or at work. While this caters to powdered protein blends, it does not meet my expectations for making Smoothies with organic fresh fruit and vegetables. But it’s a good start. Chris wanted people to take in some protein every three hours.

Chris showed the audience an easy exercise with the help of the two sisters and Dr. Oz. He made the point that they could be there for each other and that when people work as a Team, it gives them an edge for success.

While this is yet another Diet, it is a better beginning approach than the typical thing that Dr. Oz shares with you. At least you were given the impetus to get rid of the flour, the sugar, and the refined carbs in your kitchen this time!

If you’re as smart as I wish you to be, you would pass ‘Diet’ and go right over to Raw Foods and macrobiotic cuisine combined to give you a known path to healthy weight management.

Dr. Oz and Healthy Nuts: Which Nuts are Better For Your Health

October 9th, 2011

Dr. Oz has been talking about walnuts and pine nuts this week. He seems to be a ‘broken record’, since he rarely mentions all of the other nuts that are healthy for you.

Almonds and cashews are extremely healthy nuts and they are easy to snack on during the day or later in the evening. They are best eaten raw, but you can toast them and either use some sea salt or some herbs to season them. They are delicious in pesto, in salads, in side dishes, and in granola. These nuts also go well when paired with dried fruits like mango, pineapple, coconut, raisins, currents, and many others. You can also make almonds and cashews into a wonderful milk that is a great replacement for cow’s milk.

Nut Butters go way beyond peanut butter… Some of the best Nut Butters are made from almonds and cashews and hazel nuts. They are good for children who don’t chew their food thoroughly and good for elders who have no teeth…LOL. Nut Butters can be used on celery and other vegetables and fresh fruits. They still work on bread, but you can find many more creative ways to utilize them such as in soups and sauces.

Hazel nuts, pistachios, and brazil nuts are delightful. Pistachios should be eaten after being roasted, so the shells open. You should not eat pistachios that have been dyed red.

Hazel nuts and chocolate are a winning combination that the Italians have enjoyed for centuries. The two can be turned into a spread for bread, pastries, or fresh fruit. But go organic!

Pine nuts are expensive, yet they are turned into the best pesto imaginable… When we add pine nuts to our chicken lemon soup like those from Greece, we find a treat that keeps us smiling.

Many of us have been using nut oils for a long time. They go rancid quickly when exposed to light and heat, but if you store them properly, they will deliver their goodness to your salad dressings and many dishes. Healthy oils are a necessity for your organs and systems to maintain their function and their structure.

You will definitely want organic nuts whether you use them in recipes or alone as snack food. The best prices we have seen in a long time are from one of our new business affiliates. Please visit their website and see what you can find:

Braga Organic Farms

One of these day, Doctor Oz will get off of his walnut kick and try some of the other fantastic nuts. In his amazement, he will share them with his audience. But I am betting that Daphne Oz does this long before her father gets the right idea! I do love my walnuts, but I share that love with pecans and all of the nuts in the world which provide a variety of flavor, nutrients, and shape sensations for us.

Go Nuts! Be Healthy! Eat better than the doctor…

Dr. Oz and the Vegan Diet: Solve Dozens of Health Problems with One Raw Foods Diet

October 8th, 2011

The good Dr. Oz spends a lot of time discussing different diseases and degenerative conditions that are correlated to the quality of the foods that people eat. Dr. Oz gives out advice about one or two diets every week on his daily show.

This past week, he had an obese fellow on stage who presented with life-threatening medical issues due in large part to his weight. Dr. Oz wanted to wait to put him on a diet and told him to find three people that he could count on to discuss his dilemma with before dealing with his medical issues. This man is a ticking time bomb…

Dr. Oz and the 5 Habits That Make You Fat

The simple solution to so many of the audience members and case studies that Dr. Oz shares on his shows is to suggest that people learn more about adopting a Vegan diet of Raw Foods.

Love Street Living Foods has hundreds of healthy ingredients and Raw Foods which are often difficult to find elsewhere. They are knowledgeable and will help you with any questions you may have, because they know more about this way of eating than any doctor I am familiar with at this time.

If you sign up for their Newsletters, you will get good information and special Discounts on a variety of products they carry in their store. You won’t be disappointed with their excellent Customer Service either and you can depend upon their knowledge for bringing you the best whole foods on the planet.

The Vegan Diet and Raw Foods can solve many of the serious health problems that Dr. Oz and others discuss and deal with every day. Diabetes is one obvious example that is backed by many case studies and scientific research.

Surely Dr. Oz would find other topics to talk about after he helped people solve their dietary dilemma by changing to a Vegan Diet. Even after he gives away $1 million dollars to people who decide to use WeightWatchers to lose weight, he is still going to have to help them get healthy. I could not eat the food from WeightWatchers and be well. I would rather be healthy than skinny, but when a person eats a balanced Raw Foods Vegan Diet, they can be healthy and reach their ideal weight and body shape.

He finally got into the kitchen this week and referred to himself as Chef Oz…that will be the day, but at least he is making the effort!

Food is the best medicine…but it has to be the right kind of food for your health and wellness!

Dr. Oz and His 48 Hour Weekend Cleanses: Mild-Mannered s for Beginners

October 7th, 2011

Dr. Oz tried to shoot down the most popular methods for cleansing the human body.

From Fasting to the Master Cleanse, Dr. Oz showed us his ignorance on this topic today!

He glosses over the subject and never gets to the heart of the matter, but that seems to be his usual M.O. on most health issues. He’s a doctor and he lacks the depth to provide the audience with all of the information that they need to weigh in on any issue.

Dr. Oz has serious limitations when it comes to his knowledge of Detox and Cleanses. The people that he chose to illustrate his points had no business even trying a Cleanse, because they were too unhealthy to venture into that territory…

But the good doctor doesn’t even have the comprehension to realize that yet!

Those women need to do some serious work on their general health before they start doing any Detoxification program or Cleanse. That was their first mistake… They all lost weight, but this is not the way to reach your ideal weight in a healthy manner after all is said and done… Apples and oranges!

Dr. Oz didn’t realize that he was replacing berries for the lemons in his version of a cleansing recipe along with the olive oil. The Master Cleanse was designed by Dr. Bernard Jensen for the gallbladder and liver a long time ago and many uninformed people have treated it as a way to drop a few pounds quickly, instead of using it as intended. People ignore the details and the original intent. The misuse of a Detox protocol is the thing that can get someone into an area of difficulty… If only people were more intelligent!

The fat woman who thought that the Green Drink didn’t taste good was not making a flavorful recipe. There are Green Drinks that are delicious and some that taste like grass… Be good to your taste buds! She did appear to like the Green Drink that Dr. Oz prepared for the ladies. You can find the recipes here:

Dr. Oz and Recipes for the 48 Hour Weekend Cleanses

The best detoxification recipe that was offered by the doctor was the Vegetable Broth Soup. This is especially good for beginners who have never fasted nor done any type of Detox program before. It is nourishing, but it goes easy on the digestive system.

The prunes are better eaten alone, then you can follow with the quinoa dish after half to one hour has passed. Don’t combine grains and fruit…remember!

You don’t need to use ice in your Smoothies. Freeze the bananas, freeze the berries, freeze the other ingredients and use those to cool down and thicken the Smoothie instead of ice. Your body does better when you don’t hit the stomach with ultra-cold beverages!

Look…doctors are not trained in detoxification except for emergency poisonings. They think that the organs and systems of elimination will do the job, but the truth is that the Industrial Age has introduced toxins that the body was never designed to eliminate through natural mechanisms.

This requires our intentional intervention. Liquid Zeolite is the method of choice for those of us who are knowledgeable and skilled in this area of expertise.

Dr. Oz and His Anger Over Health Product Scams That Use His Name to Sell Their Products

October 6th, 2011

Dr. Oz ranted and raved about his anger and disgust about the companies that use his name to sell their health products.

He wasn’t talking about me…LOL!

But he did show a fake website that his staff put up this last week about the benefits of African Mango which he had previously recommended on an earlier show. Some people thought it was real, but he did it to prove a point.

Dr. Oz and Health Scams

Well, what exactly did he prove today?

Dr. Oz proved that he may be considered to be a ‘celebrity authority’ by unsuspecting audience members who watch his shows on TV and go to his website for medical information. These naive people blindly take his advice and seek out the products that he recommends and talks about on his hourly show. He does this…no one forces him to talk about health products. He tells people to take health products every day, so what does he expect is going to happen!

Then the shocker that shows the ignorance of this TV doctor: Dr. Oz says that he doesn’t endorse any product.

Sure, right, really?!? When he tells his audience to take a product, that is an implied endorsement. Is he a moron or does he think that if he doesn’t name a brand, it makes it OK?

Listen…the commercials that are played during the hour that his show is on the air also contradicts his statement. He is ‘selling’ the time to companies that are shady, pharmaceutical companies, and even worse – those who sell dangerous products packaged to appear to be healthy for the consumer. Dr. Oz is guilty of deceit whether he will admit it or not. When I watched the commercial for Splenda Essentials, this became obvious that he doesn’t monitor the companies who advertise and support his show. This would be called ‘blasphemy’ if he were a doctor of a religion…

Anyway, it is important for you to know that Dr. Oz doesn’t understand what he is doing when he promotes a product or an approach on his show. Today, he told his audience to take two herbal supplements that should not be taken regularly, but he is too ignorant to know that!

Blasphemy…I tell you!

He had the ‘gall’ to tell you that ginseng, fish oil, probiotics, and several other herbs are ‘scams’. This shows his lack of depth when treating any subject in fifteen minute segments. It’s appalling… Not all brands can be trusted to contain what they have on their labels, but that doesn’t always equate to being a ‘scam’. In the case of probiotics, the labeling is a reasonable statement of what is true and factual at the time of manufacturing. The company cannot control what happens to the bottles once they leave their warehouse. They can be exposed to extreme high temperatures which will kill live cultures. It’s not a lie, it’s a fact.

However, you do have to be careful about the brands of nutritional supplements, herbs, and health products you buy and your expectations. When Dr. Oz tells you to buy the cheapest at a discount store: BEWARE! He gives you terrible advice on some of these things. When you go to legitimate stores like Whole Foods Markets who do background checks and Due Diligence on the companies and products they carry in their stores, you can trust them to do their best to provide you with a superior product.

The health care product industry arose because we were all disappointed with the shelac on the outside of vitamin supplements that were found in pharmacies and grocery stores. We wanted to control the quality and improve the industry. Once we did this, the other big companies either tried to buy out the smaller companies or copied our products. It’s been a ‘bait and switch’ scam by companies that you though you could trust. Just take the yogurt wars for instance…with Activia, Yoplait, and others which are not healthy yogurts trying to convince you with ads and commercials galore on TV, in magazines, and even on the Dr. Oz show.

That’s why you should avoid taking nutritional advice from physicians trained in Western Medicine and drugs. It would be more appropriate for doctors like Oz to investigate the corruption and problematic issues in the pharmaceutical industry and leave the health products to those who have true expertise in this area. It’s is going to be better for you to visit a Holistic Health Care professional who is properly trained who is capable of giving you excellent care and guidance when it comes to supplementation, treatments protocols, and ways to become healthy.

If anyone should be the target of the anger Dr. Oz is feeling about companies using his name to sell their products, it should be redirected toward Dr. Oz. He should be angry with himself for setting the stage for this to happen in the first place. If he didn’t randomly recommend a product, those companies wouldn’t be using his name. Duh! Dr. Oz…you are the first person who should change the way you conduct yourself!

For example, a few days ago, Dr. Oz tried to tell you that there was a new Superfood that you should know about. Here is the page on his website that actually says that it it approved by Dr. Oz. This is a common berry that we would not classify as a Superfood under any circumstances, although it is a staple in many dishes and desserts. I would never put the jam or jelly on toast or combine it with flour in baked goods. Dr. Oz is his own worst enemy and is the proverbial ‘pot calling the kettle black’!

Lingonberry as a Superfood ‘Approved’ by Dr. Oz

Most people would consider ‘approved’ to be an endorsement and thus it stands to reason that Dr. Oz is a hypocrite. After being so critical of those who use his image or quote him, he went on to tell people what products to take daily. That’s irresponsible…

I usually attempt to direct you to the professional companies and businesses who can be trusted for a variety of products and services. But ultimately, it’s up to you to perform your own Due Diligence on anything and any company. It’s your body and you are the only one who can adequately decide what to put into it for your own reasons. I don’t often agree with most of what Dr. Oz tells you, but I give you the reasons for that, so you can form your own opinions and make up your own mind. Trust yourself…not some doctor on TV who hasn’t even taken a third of the health products that he discusses and promotes on his TV show.

TheDoctorsTV and Ignorance About Raw Foods: The Real Appeal for Healthy Food Choices

October 5th, 2011

Sometimes I really have to wonder if I am wasting my time when I watch TheDoctorsTV show this season. I am utterly disappointed and frustrated by the inferior quality of the information that the new panel is delivering to the public. But I suppose that is why I need to discuss it with you to help you sort through the stupid statements and find the truth in the midst of disinformation.

TheDoctorsTV Show Information and Discussion

Dr. Jim started the segment about Raw Foods with a video about his trip to a local restaurant to sample Raw Food dishes made by people who know what they are doing in the kitchen.

Planet Raw: The Official Website for the Restaurant

Dr. Jim LOVED the food, told everyone that he felt great, and said that the food felt nourishing and sustained him well into the next day. The rest of the panel members should have been open-minded enough to hear what Dr. Jim had experienced, but NO…they reacted as if someone was throwing flames in the studio!

Dr. Jim’s Raw Food Samples: Recipes for Healthy Dishes

I am appalled by Jillian and Dr. Lisa! Their attitudes and their words are indicative of EXTREME ignorance and the refusal to honestly look at this topic. They acted as if they were threatened by the facts, the personal experience of their fellow doctor, and the quality and great flavor of the Raw Food. Jillian should be banned from TV… Dr. Lisa needs a refresher course in Nutrition and Human Health before she opens her mouth again to spew out her inaccurate thoughts.

Dr. Travis and Dr. Drew appeared to be more open to Raw Foods and took a more balanced position on the matter based more on taste, nutrition, and the true value of a healthy Lifestyle which includes both Raw Foods and cooked foods depending upon the best way to utilize any specific food. I salute and recognize these two men for their intelligence.

Dr. Jim is probably the most knowledgeable doctor on the show about Human Nutrition and healthy foods. The rest of the panel eat a traditional dietary regimen that we now know is responsible for degeneration, cancer, a wide variety of diseases from diabetes to arthritis, so you cannot consider them to be experts on food or nutrition. They are sadly lacking in this department. They deal with disease much more often than wellness.

Jillian is overly opinionated with very little experience to back up her narrow-minded stance on these things. She doesn’t even know enough about water births to comment on that method of bringing healthy children into the world either! She is a detriment to this show and I hope they dismiss her, especially if the producers want to maintain any credibility at all.

Dr. Lisa left my heart feeling that she is an emotionally-crippled female who often speaks and yells before thinking about what she is saying. She was really out-of-line when condemning Water Births with the guest expert who was cool, calm, and collected while being fully aware of all the research. Dr. Lisa lost her cool and that in and of itself would convince me to never let her near another pregnant woman who is ready to deliver a child. I wouldn’t let her get anywhere close to me. She EXPECTS problems and that is the worst psychological and spiritual state of mind that any doctor or health care provider could offer any patient.

Look…I had my children with Home Births. My son was born with the presence of the midwife that instructed other midwives and she called my birth the ‘perfect example’ for instructing her students. I did all of my prenatal care and called her when I knew I was ready to deliver just in time for her to arrive at my home and prepare the setting perfectly. It was a beautiful birth experience. My husband and I delivered our daughter by ourselves the next time with our son’s babysitter being a phone call away. She was an ER physician. Again…no problems and another perfect birth with classical music and no trauma. I dare Dr. Lisa to continuously create that kind of environment for her patients!

Back to Raw Foods…

Jillian was far afield by saying that you don’t get enough nutrients with Raw Foods. Furthermore, she is under the illusion that people don’t know enough to be healthy by eating this way. How would she know? She is NO expert, so this is her misinformed opinion and you should ignore this ignorant individual. She should be willing to perform her due diligence, if she is going to put down some diet in front of millions of people. Dr. Lisa is poorly educated about the sources of the Vitamin B Complex, especially B12 which is readily available in Raw Foods and non-meat, non-dairy foods. She is dead wrong, so I hope that you ignore her stupidity, too.

I am more than willing to stake my reputation on the facts that Raw Foods and a macrobiotic diet with Whole Foods that are organic are superior in every way when compared with processed foods. If these doctors tell you anything different than this, you probably cannot believe many of the other things they are telling you due to their obvious ignorance on this matter. It’s unfortunate, but true!

I would dare the doctors and especially dizzy Jillian to observe the testing of people who eat Raw Foods, macrobiotic foods, and whole foods compared to people on a regular processed food diet using my EAV equipment. It would open their eyes and reveal their ignorance. But it would be worth it for me to show them the error of their ways with Dr. Jim, Dr. Drew, and Dr. Travis saying “We told you so!”.

Dr. Oz and Those Pesky Five Dietary Mistakes: Gain Weight, Lose Your Health, or Live Well

October 4th, 2011

Dr. Oz and his guest expert discussed some of the ways people make mistakes which cause them to gain weight on today’s show.

While some of the information was suitable, a lot of the points were irrelevant. Pointing out that there is a difference of three calories between a regular packaged cookie and a cookie that is labeled ‘low-fat’ is overly simplistic when it comes to your weight management.

Dr. Oz and Five Diet Mistakes That Make You Fat

Although the point of explaining that there is a difference between processed foods and whole foods when it comes to fat content was appropriate. The milk, the cheese, and the other whole foods that are known to be full of excess fat is something that you can sort through, while the labels that promise you that a processed food is ‘low-fat’ is usually misleading and leads to inappropriate behavioral choices.

Labels are often designed to be misleading, so you have to simply give up on processed foods and choose whole foods instead. False information is a travesty in the food industry and these companies of processed foods have a lot to answer for when they attempt to mislead the consumer who blindly trusts them.

Your willpower is an important tool for you to use when you eat with other people in social settings. Whether it is your immediate family or a larger social group, it is still up to you to manage your portions, your choices, and your willingness not to compromise your health regardless of what anyone else decides to do. In fact, you can be a role model for wise choices when eating at a restaurant, at a social function, or any gathering where there is food.

It’s silly to discuss eating stuff out of the box and devouring it until the package is empty. It’s silly to eat while you are on the computer or doing other tasks, because you lose your focus and have no control at a conscious level of accountability to your health. These are obvious mistakes.

You have to watch out for artificial sweeteners and other major mistakes that can have profound ramifications for your health and your weight. There are more than these five that Dr. Oz points out today, but at least you can think about them for the time being. Ultimately, it is your self-control and personal management of your behavior that will assure you of a healthy Lifestyle.

Honey, molasses, date sugar, blue agave syrup, brown rice syrup, and many other natural sweeteners are readily available for you online or at your local Whole Foods Markets. There are really no excuses on this topic! You have to avoid and eliminate refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial sweeteners at all cost to preserve your health!

TheDoctorsTV and Organic Food Myths: Liz Has Lost Her Perspective

October 4th, 2011

Liz is now Editor-in-Chief of Rachael Ray’s magazine and she shared three Organic Food Lies and Myths with the audience on TheDoctorsTV show today.

I must say that in my opinion, Liz has lost her perspective…

TheDoctorsTV Show and Liz on Organic Food Myths

Labeling of milk cartons is no absolute assurance of the quality of the milk that is unregulated by the appropriate agencies and organizations. You cannot trust every bottle or jug of milk you see in the average big box grocery stores. Many of the dairies pool their milk from a number of ranchers and the quality varies widely. If you want to be certain that you are not getting any hormones, anti-biotics, synthetic chemicals, or agricultural by-products in your milk; then you really DO have to buy ORGANIC milk from people you know that you can trust to be honest.

Liz is naive when it comes to labeling and pricing structures with the ploys that some companies use to fool the consumer into a false sense of security. It happens every day and in more than just the dairy industry. But we’ve seen it happen all too often among those ranchers who want to sell their milk from inferior cows and inferior practices on their dairy farms or ranches.

Price should not be the primary consideration when purchasing milk. Your health depends upon your due diligence. By the way, you would be better served to choose soy milk, rice milk, coconut milk, almond milk, or even goat milk INSTEAD of cow’s milk for your health and wellness. Have you forgotten about ‘prions’? Then again, there are many toxins and chemicals used in the feed for cattle that contaminate the milk in ways that are inconceivable to the average consumer.

As for you, you must decide what level of risk you are willing to live with or die for…

I only consume Organic dairy products from butter to cheese to sour cream to yogurt, but then I have had the ability to test all of these products for years to know the full story. I can only advise you that your careful choices of dairy products will make a profound difference in your health.

Furthermore, Liz should compare apples with apples and oranges with oranges when it comes to her Myth about buying Organic whole grains, pasta, and bread. She should include cereal in this mix… She thinks that it is more relevant to buy whole grain foods rather than organic brands to save money. She is confused and mixing her metaphors and the meaning of this concept!

Liz…when a whole grain is milled to make flour, it is no longer a whole grain. It is flour. Period…end of story. \

Liz…when a whole grain is processed to become pasta or cereal, it is no longer a whole grain. Period…end of story.

There is a profound difference between Organic Whole Grains and milled flour, cereals, and pasta. The nutritional value is forever changed once that whole grain is processed in any way whatsoever. No one, no matter whether one edits a magazine or appears on television, can win this debate.

Have these doctors and Liz forgotten what constitutes a Whole Grain? Oat Groats, millet, rye, wheat berries, barley, and other grains that are in their ‘whole’ state are in tact and have not been processed except to have been harvested from the fields. I used to prepare one Whole Grain dish every day in my Natural Foods restaurant and that NEVER included pasta, bread, or cereal. Only Whole Grains are whole grains…

I hope that you are intelligent enough to discern the difference and realize that Liz has lost her perspective…

In addition to preparing whole grain dishes, there is a place for Organic pasta, cereal, and bread; but they should be eaten in moderation or else you are going to affect the function of your lymphatic system, digestive system, and immune system among other parts of your body. Bread, cereal, and pasta taste much better when they come from organic sources. It’s also important to vary your grains, instead of relying upon wheat as the primary grain for these processed food items. Rice, buckwheat, corn, and other grains make excellent pasta, breads, and cereals.

The third Organic Food Myth or lie that Liz discussed was about cage-free eggs. She did make a good point here, but she gave an incomplete explanation for the audience. While regulatory agencies don’t always monitor producers claims on eggs, you are going to face the same thing that you did with cow’s milk. You have to conduct your own due diligence to be certain that the source of eggs you choose is healthy.

While cage-free claims do not guarantee that the chickens go outside or eat properly, this is an issue that goes beyond the obvious. There are producers who inject eggs with anti-biotics and claim that their chickens are not fed anti-=biotic, thus getting around the subtleties of the Law an confusing consumers as a result. If you are in doubt about the way the chickens are treated that are the source of your eggs, go to the ranch or farm and see for yourself.

If those chickens are not free-ranging birds who have the run of the fields and land to find their own natural food sources on the ground by pecking what is alive in the soil; then you have to wonder if the quality of the eggs is good enough for you. Do you want to ensure that you don’t set yourself up for developing cancerous tumors or other health risks that come from keeping chickens confined to lay eggs in most commercial enterprises.

Know your Producer…

Free-range chickens and eggs are the ‘real deal’ that taste better and are superior in a number of ways. The same goes for your meats from animals whether they are domestic or exotic. Turkey, chicken, beef, pork, fish, and other creatures in the wild are healthy while those that are kept in cages, kept in big barns, kept in tanks, kept in stalls, or any other unnatural agricultural methods are suspect. It’s important not to risk your health for the sake of saving a few pennies. I heartily recommend that you get what you pay for! If it costs you an extra quarter, it’s usually worth it in the long run…

Then we could talk about the bio-energetic nature of the foods that are organically-grown versus the foods that are grown using commercial agricultural practices that the USDA finds acceptable. We don’t even find the certifications of the USDA suitable for organic products. They have failed and compromised the consumer in oh, so many ways!

All in all, when you carefully select organic whole foods over processed foods that are questionable; you are going to feel a substantial difference in your health and your pocketbook will be just fine.

Dr. Oz and 50 Questions and Answers: Bizarre, Unusual, and Embarrassing Q & A Today

October 3rd, 2011

I kept shaking my head that people were actually asking these strange questions of Dr. Oz today!

You know…they could ‘google’ these things and get more of an answer than the doctor provided…

He did sweep through all 50 very quickly and left most of the people staggering for more information. Each question could be the topic of a whole TV show.

While I cannot agree with many of the answers that Dr. Oz gave to these questions, I must admit that he did offer some help that would give people a place to start to understand what is going on with their bodies.

Dr. Oz and His 50 Questions and Answers

Anyone who thinks that his answers are sufficient needs to be reminded that the more information they have about how their bodies work…the better it is. I think that this episode raises more questions than it resolves.

Dr. Oz needs a refresher course on Aromatherapy before he gives advice about Tea Tree Oil. He needs a lot of re-education, so you need to double check everything he says before you take his advice literally. He also misses the mark on a number of occasions. The use of Myrrh Essential Oil in the ears to soothe and loosen wax is preferable and more effective than mineral oil. He forgot to mention Ear Candles which we have used for decades successfully. He simply did not deliver what the audience deserves on today’s show…
