Dr. Oz seemed stumped today as he watched Dr. Ali give two correct diagnoses for the two audience members he evaluated on the show today.
While Dr. Oz calls these methods controversial, we call them holistic and traditional. Tongue and Pulse Diagnosis has been an integral part of TCM for thousands of years. Any good acupuncturist worth their salt will perform this diagnosis. It’s nothing new and it has been sufficient for much longer than Western Medicine has existed!
Dr. Oz is still somewhat arrogant in his assessment of other healing methods and it certainly showed today. It was almost as if he suddenly wanted to find out exactly how Dr. Ali saw what made the diagnosis. He’ll be thinking about this for quite some time to come, if he is truly a Healer. He’ll want to know more. Clearly, Dr. Oz was surprised that Dr. Ali was correct both times in his diagnosis.
Iridology is not new to us. It was one of the primary holistic diagnostic tools that we were exposed to in the early 1980’s. It’s incredulous to me that Western Medical Doctors are so oblivious to these techniques and ‘schools of thought’. They dismiss it and discredit it without even making an effort to understand it…
Dr. Ali was humble and just went about his business. He began to move into the ‘treatment mode’ with the woman who presented with headaches. I would have done the same thing to help her alleviate her headaches.
Both audience members acknowledged that Dr. Ali knew what he was doing with his diagnosis and they were satisfied. This is why so many patients are moving over to be treated by holistic practitioners. They understand that these Healers know more and have all of the tools and resources they need. When Western Medical doctors learn to integrate these holistic approaches into their practices or make referrals or work as a Team, they will have finally begun doing more for their patients than for their own egos.
There’s no controversy here, there’s only arrogance and ignorance on the part of physicians who have not been completely trained in the Healing Arts from around the world. Common Sense dictates that they will open their minds and embrace all of the techniques that help people…
Dr. Oz and Dr. Ali on Iridology and Tongue/Pulse Diagnosis
If you learned anything today, it’s that Dr. Ali is not practicing some ‘unorthodox’ or ‘controversial’ form of medicine. He is utilizing proven techniques and methods that have been used my so many of us who are using a holistic approach to Healing and Wellness. Dr. Oz needs to expand his horizons…

The Chew Crew gave the hour to dishes that are best eaten while at a game enjoying a Tailgate Party with your buddies who love Sports and good food.
The Chew
The Nachos presented an opportunity for a refined palate to get some flavor and textural variety with Daphne and Mario sharing tropical fruit, avocado, and a refreshing twist with black beans.
I am not going to dive into hamburger loaded with cheese sauce on stale chips ever again. But if you do everything fresh with garnishes and a little heat, it works better. I would experiment with turkey or buffalo meat for a change.
Mario makes a mean sandwich where ‘less is more’ by choosing one or two primary meats and a cheese or two with tomato, relish, mustard, and other condiments, instead of piling it all on until you stack it so high it takes a super toothpick to hold the whole thing together.
Clinton gave a good quick tip to keep the hands, faces, heads, and other body parts fresh and smelling delightful with aromatherapy using Lavender and steaming towels. You’ll never know how much people appreciate your effort until you go this far to provide the best for your guests. I prefer Lavender Essential Oil which will also soothe anyone who happens to burn their hands when they pick up hot food.
The Crew all shared their delight at the healthy food that is going out to the Occupiers across the country. They phone for a pizza delivery and eat well while bringing a dialogue to the attention of the media, the icons of monetary hypocrisy, and the excesses of government spending and favoritism. There’s no hunger strike in sight… But if these folks really wanted a change, they would be planting gardens, building houses for their neighbors, and finding more productive things to do with all that time on their hands.
Carla cut some corners with her version of an ice cream sandwich, but the garnishes on the sides of her peanut butter ice cream blend made up for the graham crackers. Mario should have made some pizzelles for the tops and bottoms of the ice cream sandwiches which are far better than crackers.
That monster dog that Patricia Heaton and Michael Symon made and devoured make an impression upon me about Cleveland. Remind me to look up healthy places to eat when traveling to that city… I am waiting for Daphne to prepare a tofu pup with the works for Michael to give him that ‘WOW’ moment about just how good an alternative dog can actually be!
If you are going to prepare Tailgate food at your favorite Sporting Events, be sure to gather together as many natural and organic ingredients as you can with fresh produce for healthy fare. You never know when someone like me will visit you and you’ll have something that we can all eat while we cheer on our teams. Mario was right when he reminded people that Seattle can cook some of the best local cuisine even though the Seahawks and Mariners just haven’t cut the mustard this season.

Martha brought several experts on her TV show today who discussed breast cancer and prevention.
The best part of the discussion was the presentation of specific foods, spices, and Lifestyle behaviors which have been found to prevent or reduce the incidence of cancer in various human populations.
Martha Stewart and Breast Cancer Prevention
Coconut Milk is one of the natural foods which has been researched recently. Those Asian cultures and countries who consume the most coconut also have the least cancer. If you are going to drink Coconut Water or Milk, then make sure it’s organic. It’s ideal to buy the coconut and drink the water right after you open it. You can also cook with coconut oil and enjoy coconut yogurt.
Turmeric, flaxseed, salmon, rosemary, and other foods were presented as some of the best to eat on a regular basis. The beans were missing from the equation as was the seaweeds like kombu, wakame, hiziki, and nori. These whole foods are better perceived to promote Wellness, instead of preventing cancer – apples and oranges… Cancer does not exist in a balanced, healthy body.
Martha made a point of pronouncing ‘phytonutrients’ and it was explained what that means. A plant-based whole foods diet rich in Greens, root vegetables, fresh organic produce, and herbs really does make a profound difference in a person’s health.
Green Tea was also mentioned as clearly valuable for drinking or cooking with it for prevention. One of the experts also clarified the confusion about soy foods. He reconfirmed, as I have with you many times, that soy foods are ‘good’ for balancing estrogen in the female body. Tempeh, tofu, and tamari as well as edamame and other soy foods have been consumed for centuries in Asian cultures.
Stem Cell Research is promising and there have been great advances in the study of the use of stem cells for regenerating organs. It’s still in the infancy stage, so you’ll need to use herbal formulas and other holistic approaches to regenerate the body’s organs and systems for now. It’s more involved than just getting an injection…
Martha is doing a better job than the physicians on TV to bring the information about prevention to the television audience. Lifestyle factors like avoiding alcohol, smoking, eating processed foods, being sedentary, and living in a toxic environment do enter into the equation.
One of these days someone will be brave and virtuous enough to discuss the use of frequency with devices like the Rife Machine and other mechanisms for imparting bio-energetic information to the human body to both prevent and treat cancer. I am not going to get into this topic, but suffice it to say that it works! If only the pharmaceutical and Western Medical community would not be threatened by this knowledge, women and men would benefit immensely and the incidence of breast cancer would be reduced or become a thing of the past.

Today was one of those days that you realize just how human and fallible doctors and others who give advice can be when they appear on TV…
This episode was about controversial topics and which side of the fence each doctor happened to be on for any given subject that they discussed. It led to a wide range of differing opinions and that points out what you will find when you seek out any physician. Not all doctors share the same opinion, knowledge, or approach to health with their peers or their colleagues!
TheDoctorsTV and Which Side Are You On?
I only want to comment on a couple of issues that were brought up today. But remember, you have to always take full responsibility to make these decisions for yourselves, not because any one else has any particular stance on a subject.
Let’s talk about soda pop.
The doctors and Jillian were against giving soda pop to younger children. Dr. Jim and Dr. Travis insisted that there are too many healthy juices from fresh fruit that children will enjoy, so there is no reason to let them have soda pop.
Doctors often think that some soda isn’t going to hurt a child, but let’s recall that childhood obesity, diabetes, cancer, incidences of sickness, and general malaise is increasing among this age group and processed foods and beverages are to blame. Even an occasional Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, or caffeinated drink does some damage to the human body.
My children were never ‘assaulted’ with processed artificial beverages or fizzy drinks in their youth. I would NEVER do that to those I love! There are healthy drinks that fizz and there are fresh organic juices that satisfy a child and adults alike. It’s foolish to waste your money or your body’s vitality by drinking an artificially-flavored, artificially-sweetened beverage.
The sad thing is that the doctors on TV did not seem to know that healthy alternatives and substitutes exist and are deliciously tasty! Do they shop? Have any of these doctors stepped into a Whole Foods Market or a Food Coop? They must lead a sheltered life…
Reed’s Ginger Brew, China Cola, and many other fizzy drinks that are healthy are excellent choices for children and adults. There are more choices in Whole Foods Markets than ever before, but first you have to shop at the right store to find them.
OK…now what about doctors refusing to treat patients who have not gotten their vaccinations? If it were asked of me, I would say to find a different, more intelligent doctor who understands the risks of immunizations and the benefits of using natural methods to strengthen the Immune System.
The doctors had differing points of view on this, but in the end, it was their basic code to treat patients to the best of their ability that carried the discussion. It is feasible that they could advise their patients to seek a home visit when a child who has not been vaccinated has a cold, the flue, or some communicable disease. Most astute parents who refuse to vaccinate their children know better than to expose anyone to someone who is sick. They also rarely get sick, because they wisely strengthen their Immune Systems and don’t contract diseases.
Chinese Herbs Direct
You’ll find a wide assortment of herbal formulations that will support and strengthen your Immune System. It’s important to check on some of them to ensure that they are suitable for younger children. Look for products that nourish Wei Chi.
I am not even going to go where the sun does not shine on procedures for female genitalia. Enough is enough…
The doctors kept talking about fences and sides with cigarette labeling and selling organs for transplant. I have to say that is when I lost interest in this hour.
Sometimes you just want to change the channel and watch someone cook some healthy food like Emeril or Martha Stewart, instead of listening to doctors who are climbing the fence for this or that… I finally succumbed and changed the channel for my own sanity!

a University researcher has been awarded over a million dollars to conduct research about the nutritional value of pecans. Imagine that…
UGA Gets $1.2 Million Grant to Study Pecans
It doesn’t take a million dollars or even ten dollars for me to tell you that pecans are good for you. Eat those pecans!
There’s just one rule of thumb: Eat Organic Pecans.
Then you will protect your body from harmful agricultural chemicals or synthetic agents that are not healthy for you that affect the nuts. When you eat organic nuts, you are getting the most nutrients and the best flavor. The soil that the trees grow in is usually richer and has a more comprehensive array of trace minerals.
Pecans have nutrient value with protein, healthy fats, and other nutrients that meet with our approval. We’ve been eating pecans for nearly sixty years and we LOVE our nuts!
The University of Georgia researcher is going to tell you that pecans are a good choice. What else is new? It doesn’t really take $1.2 million dollars these days to come to that conclusion, but there will be a study that the pecan industry can refer to to prove their point. I guess that’s how it works. Pay for a study, then use that study to sell more nuts…especially in China where pecans were recently ‘discovered’ just two years ago when introduced to this nut.
I am not sure that the anti-inflammatory or antioxidant properties are as powerful for pecans as other whole foods, but the healthy lipids or fats are one plus that cannot be ignored by anyone. Pecans are softer than many other nuts like almonds and filberts. This makes them particularly good for seniors and children who don’t chew all that well. Pecans can be seasoned to be either sweet or savory, so they enjoy a lot of diversity in numerous recipes.
Love Street Living Foods carries all kinds of organic nuts, nut butter, and whole foods that are fresh, delicious, and priced to keep you happy and healthy. There are many spices and sweeteners that you’ll find here to combine with your pecans and other nuts to maximize flavor and texture. Pecan Butter is a true delight.
Braga Organic Farms Inc
We want to introduce you to our most recent business partner, Braga Organic Nuts. They dont’ carry organic Pecans yet, but they have many other organic nuts that are just as healthy for you. You will find that the prices are more than fair and the quality is superior.

Astute, cute, and much better in the kitchen than her father, Daphne Oz prepared Oven Sweet Potato Fries this week on The Chew.
Watch the Video of Daphne Oz Making Sweet Potato Fries
You can watch the video to see her give you tips, so you can do this in your kitchen rather than driving through the Fast Food lane to get a box of French Fries that are oily, greasy, and so horrific for your health.
Sweet Potatoes will offer you flavor, fiber, and nutrients that you won’t find in traditional potatoes. They can be both sweet and salty at the same time.
Daphne’s best tip was to heat the baking tray, so it is hot enough to crisp up the segments of sweet potato. It’s also important to salt your fries immediately when they come out of the oven.
The kids will like these fries just as much as the adults. They can be dipped in ketchup or any other healthy sauce or salsa. We like to make a guacamole to accompany our Sweet Potatoes whether we bake them or make fries with them. Even a dip made with sour cream, scallions, roasted garlic, sea salt, ground pepper, and a dash of cumin will add an incredible flair to your fries!
The Chew is a new show that you can watch to get some excellent ideas for a healthy Lifestyle.

ON today’s show, The Doctors TV shared 6 ways to manage your weight, lose a few pounds, and firm up that wonderful body of yours.
It all came down to a healthy Lifestyle which is now one of the hallmarks of TheDoctorsTV physicians, trainers, and psychologists who are sharing their best methods for improving your Life and reaching your health goals.
TheDoctorsTV and Six Ways to Lose Weight
You can go through each of the ways on the Doctors’ website along with some of the topics they covered today. They discussed a few important methods that I feel are worthy of discussion here.
The use of hypnosis will in fact help most people reprogram their Subconscious Minds to change the way they perceive and relate to food, exercise, and their healthy habits. Our resident psychologist was confused or uninformed as she told the audience that it is the Unconscious that controls this; when in reality it is the Subconscious Mind! Some experts just have no real expertise in some areas, but yet they talk about topics on the show anyway…
There is ample evidence that hypnosis and clinical programming of the Subconscious Mind can effectively allow you to make behavioral changes which result in weight loss and management. We are yet again going to send you to one of our favorite websites where you can purchase audio tapes which are specially designed to reprogram your Subconscious Mind to reach your weight management goals and objectives.
Progressive Awareness
Then Dr. Travis made a little mistake while he was talking about a tip to assist you in choosing to eat healthier foods while snacking less often. He said “gauged”, instead of “gorged” when referring to eating processed food and fatty snacks which are often responsible for weight gain and obesity. It was a funny error that usually only happens on live TV…
Dr. Travis smelled a grapefruit and mentioned that if you smell grapefruit, it will help you avoid eating more unnecessary snacks. I would like to clarify this approach by telling you that when you use the Essential Oil of Grapefruit, you will find that you don’t crave those snack foods or other processed foods as much. It never hurt anyone to eat a fresh organic grapefruit either… In fact, if you will take a few minutes to eat some fresh fruit before grabbing those processed food snacks, you will lose weight. Citrus fruit and juices and zest will play a role in breaking down fats and lipids in your body. Plus…they taste great!
The avocado pesto pasta sauce was a welcome sight on this show. It can be used on pasta, but it is also great with vegetables, potato dishes, and on top of whole grains. While most pesto includes parmesan cheese, you can replace cheese with gomasio which contains sesame seeds and sea salt. Basil, pine nuts, and olive oil can be used in a wide variety of recipes to enhance the taste and the body’s use of healthy fats. Parsley, mint, and cilantro are good accompaniments to basil.
The doctors pulled out a few new gizmos, but they can be somewhat expensive. A trip to the Spa or the Salon may be one of the best ways to pamper yourselves while getting some of these new treatments with professionals who can guide you to some healthy weight loss and firming with this equipment. But in the end in the day-to-day world of most of us, a healthy Lifestyle will deliver what you seek and you’ll be able to wear your body to a class reunion, to set an example for your children, and to enhance your own self-esteem.

HGH or Human Growth Hormone and the debate about the use of the hormone to find the proverbial Fountain of Youth was the topic that Dr. Oz tackled on today’s show.
We’ve discussed HGH before and we reminded you that the homeopathic remedies are not as effective as the actual hormone injections that are expensive. Many people go to Europe to get those injections and swear that they have found their bodies changing to show a return to a more youthful appearance.
Dr. Oz and HGH
The Pituitary is the gland at the center of this issue. It releases HGH while you sleep. Dr. Oz explained the process and tried to give his audience some pointers that would help this to occur. You need to go to sleep at a reasonable hour with total darkness in your bedroom for the Pituitary and Pineal glands to produce the desired hormones and release them to work their magic. Melatonin and HGH are but two of many hormones that determine whether the body remains youthful or fades away from aging when deficient and depleted.
Dr. Oz showed an inferior mask, so you really need to get the best sleep mask that is made to do the job at hand. Bucky’s carries the mask that I designed and it is specifically made to keep out all light to promote the hormonal release for your health, well-being, longevity, and immortality while you dream the dream of renewal and rejuvenation.
L-Argenine is an amino acid that has been identified in this process or hormonal production and release, but I remind you not to take amino acids as isolates. If you get plenty of quality protein in your diet, then your body will have sufficient supplies to provide this amino acid for this purpose. If you begin to supplement, be mindful of the quantity and the quality you use. It’s vitally important to maintain that healthy balance at all costs…
In addition to getting plenty of restful sleep every night, your healthy Lifestyle will include organic foods which provide minerals, protein, and other nutrients which the body must have to maintain or regain one’s youth to replenish the skin, build the muscles, and reverse the aging process. There is an attitudinal component that cannot be overlooked, but I don’t want to get into that discussion today.
It might be useful for you to be under a qualified doctor’s care to monitor your hormone levels by a physician who understands this science and appreciates the results that we are seeing for so many people who delve into this process. While it is still not an exact science, it is promising and their is enough proof to continue to go forward with HGH.
It’s not just HGH, it’s your entire Endocrine System…
You can use sound, light therapy, frequency information, and nutritional support with herbs, supplements, Essential Oils, and whole foods to accomplish the goal of Longevity and the objective of being forever young.
There are spiritual practices that will initiate your Pituitary gland to flower like a lotus blossom and the potential for a long and healthy Life along with the option for Immortality is a real possibility. But we’ll discuss all of that another time… Suffice it to say that the use of HGH is a beginning for this process, but giving your body and mind ALL that is available and prudent to support the accomplishment of your personal goals is much more involved and sophisticated than the discussion that we can have here.

Dr. Oz likes to give his audience a List of a number of things you can do to ‘fix’ a health problem in a relatively short period of time. It’s one of his greatest flaws in the way a doctor thinks about wellness…
Today Dr. Oz told people that within five days they could do five things to solve some major medical problems. Trust me, it takes more than the limited advice he gave today to resolve these for the rest of your life.
Dr. Oz and 5 Ways in 5 Days to Fix Your Worst Fears
One of your main fears is that you lose your ability to sense your environment. Your food doesn’t taste the same, you don’t feel things the way you once did, you can’t see or hear as well as you did when you were younger, and your sensitivity has lessened substantially. What are you to do?
Dr. Oz thinks that a dose of vitamin B12 will help your nerves. He thinks that alpha lipoic acid will heighten your sense of smell. He believes that zinc will improve your ability to taste what you put into your mouth. I would suggest to you that you eat foods that are rich in these nutrients and only take isolated nutritional supplements for a short period of time when your food intake is restricted.
Next, Dr. Oz wanted to help women improve their skin by offering a blended brew of cinnamon and nutmeg. Rather than using questionable spices directly on your skin, you can use Essential Oils and get more of a health benefit. For the skin, Dr. Oz could have recommended that you get more minerals and healthy oils into your daily food choices from vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. He finally talked about Chia Seeds as a ‘superfood’ and gave a recipe to show his favor with this powerful seed.
You will find Chia Seeds, Flax Seeds, and other ‘real Superfoods’ at Love Street Living Foods which will do more for you than the few benefits that were mentioned by the guest expert with Dr. Oz smiling over his likeness for his own chia seed pet man. You should grind your chia seeds, instead of wasting them by sprouting them on weird objects!
Dr. Oz then went where he often goes…into the sexcapades. He thinks that you should avoid soybeans, sauerkraut, and coffee, even though he recommended those foods over the last couple of weeks for a variety of reasons. He is of the opinion that when a woman is too tired at the end of the day, these foods will not help her libido. I must disagree. Soy foods have long been associated with the regulation of female hormone levels in the body, although the isolated soy protein does not offer that same response and has been linked to imbalances.
If you are going to get a buzz on with coffee to enjoy some private time with your sexual partner, then drink it an hour before you anticipate the need for some extra energy. Furthermore, you should NEVER wash your sauerkraut! That is STUPID advice from Doctor Oz who is a dork in the kitchen. You are not going to eat a cup of kraut at one time and the sodium in the salt from the fermenting process is not used the same way by the body as salting your food with commercial salt that has other ingredients besides sodium and chloride that the body must eliminate for homeostasis.
While pears, watermelon, and garlic are excellent foods to eat on a regular basis, they are not the best foods for improving your libido; although they do provide minerals, vitamins, and other nutrients for general health. Dr. Oz needs to be much more specific when he dives into the foods which drive sexual performance.
Next, Dr. Oz addressed Joint Pain. He was helpful in recommending arnica cream for the knees and other painful joints that are inflamed. But they also need nutritional support with minerals like calcium and boron and MSM which supplies the body with sulfur compounds. Essential Oils are more effective when dealing with painful joints and better than trying to use exercise to stabilize the way you work out your body. It’s better not to exercise until your joints are free from pain with the exception of gentle stretching, swimming, or massage therapy.
Finally, Dr. Oz stated that red onions, rosemary, and eggplant are going to help with brain function and memory as will wheat noodles, peanuts, and spinach. Women fear memory loss as they age and many foods supply the minerals and nutrients that drive the function of the brain and nervous system. There are many, many more foods than these six that are helpful when it comes to improving your memory. We generally suggest that people include some Ginkgo Biloba as part of an herbal formulation for this purpose as well as using Peppermint Essential Oil for memory and recall. But you really have to eliminate the pollutants in the atmosphere in the air that you breathe while you increase the oxygen and fresh air that you find in the mountains away from the cities which also improves your brain function. It’s not as simple as the Dr. Oz Five Fix…

Dr. Oz said that he has wanted Paula Dean to appear on his TV show from the beginning and he finally shared the stage with the Queen of Butter, Fried Chicken, and all things Fattening.
Paula Dean is not a celebrity cook that should in any way be considered to be a relevant role model. The only model she presents to the public is what NOT to do to be healthy. She is an icon for all of the health problems that come from overindulgence and the lust for food which kills human beings before their time.
Dr. Oz and Paula Dean: The Queen of Obscene and Her Recipe for Macaroni and Cheese
This recipe is not healthy. Evaporated milk is a big ‘no-no’. If you are looking for a healthier mac and cheese, then buy a box of Annie’s and see how much better that tastes! Furthermore, Emeril just had his daughter prepare a healthier version of mac and cheese on his new TV show on the Hallmark Channel.
She pretends to be happy outwardly, but this woman is troubled emotionally. I can spot it a mile away and this has gone on for years in her life, it’s no recent development. I do believe that she feels better about her life now, because of her relative success with the Food Network.
Paula bravely puts on a happy face, but beneath the surface is a wounded woman who is broken. She seemed to regret the day she began to smoke when she was in her early teens. She milks the sympathy for being a single mother after her marriage failed. She hides the truth of her guilt and shame, but it is there nonetheless… I think that she turns to food to try to forget the pain in her life.
Personally, she is the worst example of a cook who prepares food that will kill you and create degenerative disease in the human body than anyone else I can think of with the exception of the Fast Food joints. But her French Fries, burgers, buns, slaw, mashed potatoes, pie, and other indulgences can mislead people and give them a false sense of security.
Paula told Dr. Oz that she is ashamed and embarrassed by her habits of eating French Fries and smoking incessantly. She smokes about a pack and a half a day. Her body is starved for oxygen and it is aging her minute by minute with every puff. I do hope that she will work with Dr. Oz to quit smoking and then he can help her tackle her addiction to fried foods.
No one in their right mind should eat the food that Paula Dean cooks on a daily basis. I know, because I have watched many of the episodes on the Food Network as well as her personal appearances on TV shows and regional events. Anthony Bourdain was correct in his assessment of her cooking skills. And if you haven’t noticed, the Food Network is bringing Anthony to their line-up of new shows.
Paula can write a cookbook and call it a bible, but it is the path to disease, suffering, and death. She ruins her greens and vegetables with hamhocks and other questionable ingredients. She indulges in too much butter, too much lard, too much sugar, too much salt, too much flour, too much milk, too much cheese, too much meat, too much oil, too much frying, and too much processed foods which spell ‘death on a dish’.
She never apologizes for all of the butter and unhealthy fats she uses in dishes and then goes on to tell you that it’s your responsibility to take care of your health. Well, the best way to accomplish that is to do the polar opposite with your food when you compare it to the way Paula Dean does it!
Even her sons are making an effort to change the way they eat and cook with better choices which are healthier for them. She tells them not to ruin her reputation, but she knows deep down that her reputation has already been sullied by her own poor choices and bad habits. In our circles, she is the bane of the food industry and representative of all of the things that are wrong. Southern Cooking is not a healthy method of food preparation unless you have a ‘death wish’.
Dr. Oz congratulated Paula for meeting his challenge to reduce the fats and calories by half, but even then she resorted to using buttermilk and flour in her chicken as well as lots of cheese and milk in her macaroni and cheese dish. That mac and cheese was such a solid mass of hardened fat when it cooled that they had to pry it out of the container to find a morsel to eat! What a horrific sight that was at the end of the segment…
I feel that she could redeem herself and change her ways, but it’s going to take a coronary to make her step back and take stock of her life and the health of those she says that she cares for, especially her hubby and her extended family. She has a following who respond to her boisterous laughter and flirting ways, just ask Matt Lauer on The Today Show this morning… But that keeps her greatest fears and deepest secrets hidden from view for the time being, although you can see the sadness in her eyes and the weakness in her body.
