Chia Seeds and Blue Agave Syrup or Raw Organic Cacao and Goji Berries: Superfoods and Whole Foods in the Raw

December 10th, 2011

So many people are searching for good sources of Chia Seeds, Goji Berries, organic Cacao, and other Superfoods, Whole Foods, and Raw Foods.

We have several sources to help you in your quest for locating the best and most nutritious foods and ingredients on the planet for you.

Raw Food World

More and more people are seeking alternatives to refined sugar and artificial sweeteners. You can find Blue Agave Syrup and other organic ingredients at Love Street Living Foods.

Even exotic ingredients like Maca Root which Dr. Oz and others have touted for boosting testosterone in the human male can be found at Love Street.

You’ll find that when you shop at these establishments online, you get better Customer Service, better product, better prices, and more than you would at most of your local stores and shops.

Freshness is of paramount importance when it comes to the power of these Superfoods to work their magic in your body. They begin to lose their Life Force over time just like you, so the fresher the ingredients that you use to prepare food with, all the better…

You’ll know where these ingredients are sourced, instead of only reading ‘Made in China’ or “Import from Chile” on the label or printed on the package. This is for your ultimate benefit and you should not trust the big box stores to keep the shelves filled with fresh items. They often have been sitting in the warehouse for months and sitting on the shelves for weeks or months before being purchased or returned to the distributor.

When I test two identical packages of food with the EAV equipment, I can tell which package has more Chi or ‘energy’ than the other. Even though the food is identical, the time, conditions under which it is stored, and the way it is handled does make a difference.

You deserve to get the very best in order to support your journey to Wellness!

Dr. Oz and the Male Brain: Gender and Healthy Relationships

December 9th, 2011

Dr. Oz seems to be under the impression that he is giving away some secrets to how the male brain and psyche operate today. He even cautioned the audience that he may be perceived to be a ‘traitor’ of sorts… How absurd!

Does he doubt how well men know themselves? Does he feel that women have no idea about what goes on in the mind of a man? Is he operating under the illusion that there is great depth and mystery locked into the male brain that precludes comprehension? I hope this is not the case.

Dr. Oz and the Male Brain

His guest, Mr. Steve Harvey, tried to turn the discussion into a comedy mixed with a little tragedy. He is deluded to think that ALL men must have sex in a healthy relationship. This is simply not true. Sex does not drive all men whether they will admit it or not… Sex and genuine love-making are a part of a healthy relationship, but not the ‘be all and end all’ that Steve made it out to be! He lives in his First Seal as do many people who have not evolved.

Personally, most women are not attracted to men who view all relationships as potential or eventual sexual encounters. We have news for you men. We are attracted and drawn and respect a man who has a great personality, a healthy sense of humor, an ability to discuss a wide variety of topics, and interests that extend far beyond the bedroom. There’s so much more to life than an orgasm…

If that’s all you live for, then it is rather likely that your existence will be shallow and immature. You will shorten the length of your lifetime considerably and be lonely, but horny for most of those years. Your life may not have the same depth of meaning and value as your male counterparts who have developed more mature social and family skills. Just saying…

Many men think women believe that you can be changed, but the truth is that only you can change your mind and reprogram your male brain. This holds true for women as well. It’s not anyone’s responsibility to retrain you, you must be motivated from within to accomplish lasting and meaningful change.

Men can retrain their brains as can women. The brain is your most prized possession and resource for a healthy Lifestyle. Your attitudes, thoughts, feelings, and belief systems will determine your Quality of Life. What your common thought brings to the table is the measure of a man!

Human beings have the innate capacity to mold themselves into anyone they wish to be, to think in whatever capacity that meets with their approval, and to change their minds at any time. There are no limitations unless they are self-imposed.

However, if you as a man choose to retrain your brain, do it for you, not for someone else. To thine own self be true! There’s nothing impressive about an artificial person who is not honest, sincere, or consistently honoring who they are. Self-exploration and discussion with your partner(s) will reveal yourself to you and those around you. Trust the process of being authentic.

Dr Oz also talked about throwing out wine after three days, but instead of wasting it; you can cook with it. Wine works in many delicious dishes. Dr. Oz rates frozen food and processed foods higher than they deserve, so I would suggest that you go for the freshest ingredients every chance you get. If you have to learn how long your mayo or your cereal will last, then you are doing yourselves a disservice by having them in your pantry or refrigerator in the first place. Life Force or Chi is diminishing all the time once the produce is picked or harvested whether it is frozen or canned. Doctors like Dr. Oz do not take ‘energy’ into consideration when looking at frozen and canned foods, but we do. It’s imperative that you eat your food at it’s peak of energetic perfection as often as possible for it to nourish your body.

Think of your food and your relationships as better when they are fresh and inviting, not stale or frozen. Plug that idea into your male brain and let it soak in until you understand the beauty of being present and alive in each moment.

TheDoctorsTV and Healthy Food Choices: Even Physicians Have to Eat Well to Stay Well

December 8th, 2011

Dr. Travis can be counted upon to suggest to his audience that healthy foods are important for prevention and athletic performance. Dr. Jim eats better than the rest of the group and shares his enthusiasm with his young patients to help them develop healthy Lifestyle choices for the rest of their lives.

On today’s show a nutritionist named Cynthia displayed a few healthy foods that met with the doctor’s approval. Dr. Jim and Dr. Travis both nibbled on the samples as Cynthia described the nutritional value of the foods she had chosen to highlight.

First there was avocado and spinach dip. It paired lemon juice, sea salt, and garlic with the avocado and spinach to keep it healthier than the typical dip that has sour cream or mayonnaise as the emulsifier and body of the dip.

Then there were the little bite-sized morsels filled with carrots, red peppers, zucchini, and other sturdy vegetables to be wrapped and dipped in a soy sauce. This gives some crunch and texture to a healthy snack or appetizer using spring rolls that are fast and easy to make.

The kale, cashew, banana, and agave syrup smoothie is green and good for either a dessert or a snack or even a breakfast beverage. Both doctors were surprised that it tasted sweet, because they associate kale with a savory seasoning.

TheDoctorsTV and Healthy Food Options

These healthy foods were but one of the ten things that the docs suggested to live longer along with getting a pet, falling in love, and their usual recommendations.

Healthy food should be eaten for the reason of being healthy and feeling more vitality, not just for the prevention of disease; but these are doctors who are consumed by disease models. There’s hope for them yet and it starts with great food that nourishes and replenishes the human body!

Oprah on Dr. Oz: The Fresh Start for the New Year to Transform Your Life

December 7th, 2011

Dr. Oz had to be so pleased to welcome Oprah to his show today. She spent some time explaining how she felt after leaving her daytime TV show after 25 years and starting her OWN Network which has become a major undertaking. She features Dr. Oz on this month’s issue of the O magazine with an article of a 28 Day Plan for a Fresh Start.

Dr. Oz and Oprah: The Fresh Start to Transform Your Life

Oprah described her ‘Next Chapter’ for her Life as one of interviewing real people and learning more about how they face their challenges to grow into the kind of person they choose to be. She talked about the power of ‘intention’ and her dedication to finding out what and why she does what she does for herself…not for anyone else.

Oprah seemed conflicted about her OWN Network and the feedback that people have given her about her choices to pursue this direction. Personally, I have no interest in the programming and it doesn’t attract people who are ‘healthy’ and ‘balanced’. It deals with emotional cripples and sad stories that just are so old and boring that they have no place in the lives of those who are marching forward for the BEST in their lives and the lives of those who they admire and love.

Although Oprah described her visit to the TM community and talked about how her staff has changed since they began to meditate twice a day at work, she got lost in the process. She even got excited about Fire Walking, but failed to realize the deeper value of the experience that you create your Reality which is what JZ and Ramtha have tried to impart to audiences and individuals for more than 30 years.

Ramtha spoke this year about Oprah’s attitude toward JZ. Oprah needs to deal with her jealously and envy. There is room in this world for plenty of wonderful people to assist their fellow men and women in their spiritual growth and unfoldment. The day that Oprah clears her conflicted attitude toward JZ and the Ram will be the day that she gets her own ‘Fresh Start’!

Dr. Oz shares his Fresh Start ideas that you can apply over the course of 28 days. This gives you enough time to adjust to the difference between the old habitual patterns of your day and the incorporation of new behaviors and choices that nourish Body, Mind, and Spirit.

Dr. Oz offered some Black Tea samples, some foods to cook to heal the heart, and had an audience member try out the tastes of these examples that are integrated in his 28 Day Plan. A Raw Food diet will do more for preventing or reversing Diabetes than a couple cups of Black Tea a day. Dr. Oz needs to temper his recommendations with additional information that include a more balanced and comprehensive approach to Wellness, instead of those single substance quick fixes he and other doctors offer. Remember it’s a ‘healthy Lifestyle’ and not just some tea here and some salmon there and some intent here and there…

He managed to surprise me by suggesting Chai Tea. The old standard of Darjeeling and Earl Grey are by most standards drab and boring to those of us who have taken Tea to the next level for decades. Eventually, Dr. Oz and other mainstream individuals will catch on, explore, and discover the wealth in the wide world of Teas… What do you know of White Teas and Green Teas? Seek out the real experts and gain the knowledge that goes beyond the benefits that Dr. Oz mentions!

The tomatoes, the salmon, the lima beans, and the garlic were all combined into one dish for heart health. Who in the world like lima beans unless they are seasoned and flavored with spices and herbs properly? People need to quit eating bland food and learn how to cook with flair, flavor, and healthy spices and herbs.

Dr. Oz also demonstrated how to add garlic salt to popcorn as a healthy snack. But he needs to take some cooking and food preparation lessons from Lisa and Daphne. If he was smarter, he would have put the healthy oil and the garlic salt into the paper bag, shaken it vigorously, and then poured the popcorn into a bowl. The way he did it, you would have the garlic salt on the top kernals only and beneath those, it would be naked…

At least one member of the Oz family knows their way around the kitchen. I hope that you’re watching The Chew with Daphne Oz who incorporates health and great-tasting food.

The Chew

Daphne shared the recipe for a healthy Eggnog and a frozen fruit sorbet made with rice milk. She is light years ahead of her father in the kitchen. But at least today he showed people how to cook something for the health of their hearts! He could have also told you to use grass-fed beef and exotic meats without all of that fat from the stockyards. He could have shared about twenty more powerful foods for the heart, but he can only do three at a time given the limitations on his time and approach. I hope that he employs some of his ideas for transforming his show with a Fresh Start by spending more time helping people in the kitchens.

Dr. Oz Talks About Energy Drinks: Those Which Work and Those That Don’t

December 6th, 2011

Dr. Oz tricked his audience by asking them to take a drink of an Energy Drink before the show began. He then went to the three audience members and asked them if they felt anything.

Two women said that they felt more energized without the jitters. One woman said that the drink was not sweet and was more like seltzer water. Dr. Oz told her that she was correct and that he had pulled a stunt on his audience by giving them fizzy water alone.

Dr. Oz Fools His Audience with Fake Energy Drinks

He tried to diminish the illusions of more energy that the two women felt, but he forgets to take into consideration the power of the Mind. He may have given people only water, but what if they themselves gave their bodies permission and the directive to feel more energy. That’s the real beauty of the Mind, Body, Spirit Connection. The Shen is powerful…

Anyway…Bio-Energetic Medicine and Quantum Physics are lost on Dr. Oz! But you know that you have the power to fuel your body and infuse it with vibrant energy from the ‘free energy’ that surrounds all of us.

Then Dr. Oz went on to condemn the Energy Drinks and their contents and false advertising. Nothing new under the Sun there… All of that excess caffeine and refined sugar plus any other compounds that are thrown in for good measure are not the answer to finding energy in a beverage.

If you are deficient, then you need to replenish the Yang Chi, Jing, or Xue. No matter what you do, if you do not do this to restore a solid bio-energetic foundation within and around your body; then it will only result in that same desperate act of over-stimulating oneself with artificial means.

The preferred method for accomplishing this is to use herbal formulas and whole foods. Essential Oils and specific nutritional supplements also play a role in rejuvenating the energetic systems of the human being.

Dr. Oz tried to rate Energy Drinks, coffee, tea, espresso, chocolate on a scale of most to least amounts of caffeine to help people realize that what they are drinking impacts their energy. He also offered up three of his own energy drinks as possible alternatives.

My strongest recommendation for drinking a beverage that supports your mental alertness, focus, and compliments your vitality is Brain TONIQ.

Brain Toniq

Another extremely powerful beverage that you can use to replace Energy Drinks and feel the difference is Masaji:

MMasaji for Energy, Wellness, and Elevated Mental Clarity

Don’t discount organic coffee with healthy sweeteners and soy milk instead of dairy. Enjoy your black and green teas without guilt, but make sure they are fresh and organic. Dark Chocolate that has natural sweeteners and no dairy along with all organic ingredients is a great choice. Just don’t rely on any of these alone or in great quantity.

You can also nibble on Goji Berries, drink an ampule of Ginseng, or massage your ears using Auricular Therapy to feel more energy and vitality without the negative side-effects.

Do your Yoga and Tai Chi. Use your Essential Oils and warming Whole Foods. We’ve referred you to the herbal formulations that will replenish the organs and systems that you’ve depleted in previous posts. You’ll find the resources here.

There are no shortcuts, quick energy fixes, or cans of ‘energy’ that will serve you properly…all take a toll on you. You have to go back to basics and regeneration to replenish your energy and feel the vitality that you desire all of the time.

Dr. Oz and Emeril: They Weigh In on Healthy Food

December 5th, 2011

Dr. Oz finally brought one of the legends of the Food Network and New Orleans cuisine to his stage today with Emeril Lagasse.

Emeril has quite a story to share. I didn’t realize that his health started to be affected and that he faced so many challenges after Hurricane Katrina.

He didn’t bounce right back…

However, Emeril made a conscious decision to take control back over his weight and health which led him to change the way he prepares foods and teaches his audiences about cooking healthy and tasty meals.

For some weird reason, Emeril had an opinion that ‘healthy’ was translated by people as boring and bland. That is as far from the truth for me as it gets… But there are those out there who think that paring down dishes to the bare minimum makes a meal healthy. I do not share this opinion. Usually, it’s the cook that doesn’t know how to use spices, herbs, and healthy ingredients to make food taste fabulous! Blame the cook and seek out healthy food with flavor…

In fact, organic and natural whole foods taste better than their processed or commercial counterparts. In a taste test, they win almost every time. There is more flavor, more texture, more nutrients, and more intrinsic value in the ‘energy’ of organic and natural foods.

Emeril sold his business to Martha and began his Emeril Green show. He has learned to shop at Whole Foods Markets and he passes on some of his healthier knowledge these days. He prepared a shrimp dish for Dr. Oz that he would have made with crawfish in the past. It had fewer calories and less fat than his original recipe. Dr. Oz complimented Emeril on this accomplishment which can be replicated by audience members in their kitchens.

Emeril and Dr. Oz both agree that the use of fresh spices are healthy and make food taste better. Emeril suggested that people incorporate the use of Cumin with some dishes. He also suggested an anodized pan among other ideas to make your food healthier.

Dr. Oz and Emeril Weigh in On Healthy Food with Flavor

Emeril intelligently told the audience of Dr. Oz that the organic brown rice pasta and artichoke pasta now taste great and have a better texture than the old whole wheat pasta that tasted gritty. Emeril is learning to prepare gluten-free dishes, because his children are sensitive to food which contain gluten like wheat. He’s getting on the right band wagon these days as is Dr. Oz…

Just don’t use evaporated milk in Emeril’s Shrimp Pasta recipe. There are healthier alternatives! You could use soymilk, rice milk, coconut milk, or even hemp milk as a healthy substitute. You can basically change any recipe to become healthy with better ingredients. You just have to use your imagination and creativity and shop at the right stores.

The Chew and the Food Network: TV Programming at Its Best

December 4th, 2011

I recall when the Food Network first began to air episodes of Martha Stewart and Bobby Flay. Then came Rachael Ray and Mario Batali and Emeril and Giada as ‘stars’ in the world of Food Preparation. They’ve grown the franchise to monumental proportions with magazines, books, live events, and now we have Iron Chefs on the primary TV Channels.

The Food Network

Michael Symon and Mario Batali are the two Iron Chefs who now share their cooking talents and experience on The Chew on ABC during the day when programming is prominent for many people. The Chew replaces a daytime soap and it is one of our favorite shows on television right now!

The Chew

I had no idea who Carla or Clinton was and what they would add to the program, but they have amused and delighted me with their personalities and their expertise as well as Daphne Oz who is much more pleasant to watch than her popular physician father.

It’s not just the cooking and techniques, but the interplay between them that makes this such a delicious show. Last week they all wore their pajamas for a stress-free December and a Slumber Party. Mario was in bed with Michael and the bed shifted. It was one of those rare live moments on TV when the laughter is real and there’s no script…just pure unedited fun.

The Chew crew might poke fun at Daphne for her strong foundation in healthy food, but she perseveres and shares what she knows with everyone and takes it all in stride. I know that feeling…

The Food Network often features Vegan and natural foods restaurants and chefs who prepare a sustainable table of whole foods. Even Emeril has gone ‘greener’ than most of his fellow chefs! Some of the specialty programming features cuisine that I find favorable and appealing for those who are looking for a healthy dish and food preparation methods.

The sweet little nutritionist does her best and there are segments on FoodCrafters and Unique Eats that highlight the healthier purveyors of food around the country. It’s better TV programming than most of the other channels.

I hope that you’ll visit these websites and watch these TV channels to learn more about living a healthy Lifestyle.

By the way, Ida recently had a new episode and prepared some holiday festive nuts with chipotle and other distinctive flavors of the season for nibbling on while you entertain guests. You can find her recipe at the Food Network and if you are looking for the best organic nuts available online, then go to Braga Organic Nuts and order yours for the Holidays.

King Arthur Flour Company Offers Free Shipping and Free Sourdough Starter Deal

December 3rd, 2011

In case you’ve never heard of King Arthur before, you might want to visit their website and see what they are up to these days.

They are offering free shipping on orders of $60 or more and if you buy a crock, you will get some Sourdough Starter for free.

King Arthur Flour Company Deals

Why should you care?

This is the holiday season when special baked items are prepared for Christmas and New Year’s that are not made at any other time of the year. This is the ‘reason for the season’ of finding excellent ingredients, especially those that are ideal for gluten-free diets.

Not all local stores carry the kinds of ingredients or the kitchen equipment that you will require for some of your favorite seasonal specialties. Furthermore, many of the stores where you live might have had some of these foods on the shelves for a year and they are stale, rancid, or devoid of flavor.

King Arthur is well-known for the flours, the baking supplies, and all that goes with Baking the Best. They have so many things that are a challenge to find anywhere else that shopping with them makes your holiday planning easier and more convenient and free of stress.

So if visions of gingerbread, cupcakes, and other baked goodies for the holidays are dancing around in your head; then King Arthur is one place to find them for a good price with good customer service and assistance. They have a very good website, so enjoy trekking around it for ideas and inspiration!

Dr. Oz Interviews a MInister for Diet Ideas: The Daniel Diet Approach

December 2nd, 2011

This has to be a first for Dr. Oz…

He welcomed a minister who is promoting that his congregation use the Daniel Diet approach to deal with excess weight, eating better, and building a support system to ensure success.

He himself actually has lost some weight. He regards a healthy Lifestyle as a more permanent approach than just dieting. He’s on the right track. People seem to be doing well with his approach.

Dr. Oz and The Daniel Diet

The segment is not up on the Dr. Oz website yet, but most likely will be posted tomorrow. But the recipe for Jazzy Chicken already exists which appears to be one of the favorite lunch items for Dr. Oz from a school cafeteria.

The only unique thing about this recipe is the use of spices. That’s precisely what makes food taste great…

You can jazz up chicken or tofu with herbs and spices to taste so fantastic that the kids will beat you to the table!

Dr. Oz Responds to the Apple Juice Industry, His Audience, and Consumer Reports

December 1st, 2011

Dr. Oz quickly was able to air a brand new segment responding to the Breaking News about the Consumer Reports information about arsenic in apple juice yesterday.

He spoke to the industry, he spoke to the audience, and he promised that even though he might be faced with a lawsuit…his voice would not be silenced.

Good for Dr. Oz!

Dr. Oz and His Response the the Arsenic in Apple Juice News

But…the guest told Dr. Oz that the study was not large enough to look at the difference between organic juice and commercial brands of juice. We understand that it becomes a matter of cost when designing any study or research. However, her conclusions were inconclusive.

She couldn’t really compare the quality of organic apple juice to commercial brands. She is like many people who think that all growers have previously used pesticides, insecticides, and other toxic agricultural substances on all trees and orchards when growing organic apples and other fruit varieties. But that’s an incorrect assumption.

The organic and sustainable growers that I know are much more careful and concerned than to make that mistake. They would rather prepare untouched soils in a new location than risk the introduction of toxins like arsenic from the soil which was treated by others in the past. Water sources are often superior and pure. It’s a different ballgame with smart and determined organic growers of apples and other fruit to be used for juice for human consumption.

Whether the industry and the commercial brands like it or not, when we saw that they were compromising our health many decades ago and refused to change then; we took a different road and that has made all of the difference. We created a Wellness and Whole Foods industry of our own. We are a ‘growth industry’ and more people are catching on all the time. What we are doing is vastly superior and that’s the juice that any intelligent parent and child will choose to drink.

You heard it yourselves today, the industry representative said that they would comply with the guidelines of the FDA and EPA and other regulatory bodies. They must by Law. They are not doing this to protect children. They only respond when they are forced to change their inferior methods of food preparation and processing. It’s sad, but true…

I will tell you this again… There is NO SAFE LEVEL of arsenic or other heavy metals in food or water. Every molecule destroys cells in the human body until it is eliminated which requires intervention.

Anyone with access to a Live Cell Dark Field Microscope can take a look at a person’s blood and see just how accurate this statement is for themselves. You can see the tiny shards of metal touch a red blood cell and it withers and dies!

Heavy Metal Poisoning is an incredibly complex and challenging health issue. It won’t go away any time soon, regardless of the pressure of commercial makers of apple juice or their legal teams who would like to silence people like Dr. Oz.

At least Dr. B had the decency and moral compass to tell Dr. Oz that he was wrong while Dr. Oz was right! Imagine the humility it will take to have commercial companies follow that example…

Dr. Oz is still a little too cautious. His recommendations for diluting juice with water is irresponsible. It is only natural that you diversify the kinds of fruit juices that are consumed weekly. The most significant thing that parents, children, and caregivers can do is to learn to juice organic fresh produce! That juice is at its best for nutritional value.

If you really want to learn my two methods for detoxification from arsenic or other heavy metals, then leave a Comment and I will provide it to you directly. There are only two methods that I can approve of and one is expensive. But it becomes necessary in this day and age where pollution and contamination of our food and water supply is so common that you take these measures to protect your health and well-being.
