Some people who have been living under a rock have never truly lived until they have eaten sushi prepared properly and accompanied by wasabe, pickled ginger root, and tamari.
The sushi rice is wonderful, too, with vinegar and a touch of sweetness. There’s the perfect balance of fish, vegetable, greens, and spice to please the palate. The varieties are endless, although we have our favorites.
I remember going to a healthy cooking class in Macrobiotics in Boulder, Colorado in the mid 1970s. We learned to make nori rolls with cucumber, carrot, sesame seeds, and mushrooms.
I bought my first sushi mat and all the things I needed to continue to build my skills.
The pickled ginger root aids in digestion, the wasabe is warming and stimulating. The sheer elegance of the art is a tradition steeped in mystery and mastery.
There is a legend that aliens from another world introduced the Japanese to the fine art of making sushi. It doesn’t surprise me at all…
The benevolent races gave us the knowledge to make red wine, chocolate, coffee, and use tobacco according to some sources.
The main thing is that sushi with pickled ginger and wasabe tastes great!\ while supporting the digestive process.

If you watch Shark Tank on TV, you will know the men and one woman who have made their financial fortunes and are occasionally willing to invest in other people’s inventions.
They have big egos and think very highly of themselves. However, last night they skipped a beat…
Instead of sharks, these bozos are Ostriches with their Heads in the Sand!
One fellow presented his negative Ion Watch concept to the group and Mark Cuban thought the invention was a scam. it soured the other investors who don’t know much about holistic health practices and devices, because they all bowed out of the deal. They are a bunch of rich fools.
One guy wouldn’t even put a sample watch on to test it. Although the Kinesiology muscle test demonstration was offered by the inventor and showed a positive and tangible effect, it was ignored in favor of demanding a scientific study to back up any claims. These people really don;t have a clue in our circles…
The millions of dollars required to complete the process of getting a new drug or medical device to market is beyond the reach of inventors who are more altruistic than money-hungry bloodsuckers! The pharmaceutical industry is responsible for more bad drugs and deaths than the nutritional health industry will ever see… The drug companies and those associated with them are in business for a profit, not to heal people of dreaded disease; but to keep them feeling ‘something’ long enough to make a sizable profit with prolonged treatment.
Health products like Negative Ion Generators have to build their business and reputation from the ground up. They have to actually work…
The proven concept of the value of negative ions for human health is nothing new to us, only to uninformed and narrow-minded billionaires. The use of negative ions is being applied in many ways, but the idea of using a watch is unique. it’s less costly than having a generator in every room in your home and office. There is even a car device that plugs in to the lighter area in older cars and will help to keep the driver alert and less prone to falling asleep the road.
Sadly, the inventor forgot to remind the ego maniacs that billions of people flock to Niagara Falls to get married or to see the grand spectacle of nature. They feel ‘good’ when they stand close to the Falls and breathe the air which is supercharged with negative ions. Even billionaires takes showers and feel invigorated from the negative ions that are generated! But they don’t know why!
While I have traditionally recommended that people wear a Teslar Watch or a CieAura Wristband for their health and vitality; I am curious about the potential of the negative Ion Watch.
In this case the sharks were NOT the experts and looked like ostriches with their heads in the sand.

Dr. Oz spent a lot of time with his team researching and putting together his group of snacks.
While I disagree with many of the food combinations, they are better than binging on processed unhealthy snacks.
If you are going to snack between meals, then make your own snacks. Although there are healthy organic snacks available today that were never easy for the home cook in the kitchen to make that are suitable.
Dr.Oz and His Snack Attack Solutions
Much of the content of today’s show was oriented toward making you look and feel younger, especially by dropping a few pounds.
When oz got to the snack portion, he began his used car salesman approach.
The hour seemed more like a commercial for trying to win the lunch bag give-away from Zappos and Oz than simply providing information.
It is healthier to put a nut butter on your slices of apples than ricotta cheese. Wrap the date, not the cheese. Use rice paper or lettuce instead of a whole wheat base. make small servings of the parfait rather than using a monster punch bowl.
At least Dr. oz is wisely bringing real chefs like Anne from the Food network and the person from Top Chef to show you how to assemble a dish of real food!
The next time you have a snack attack, have something healthy to go to work for you to satisfy that hunger. Eventually as you embrace a healthy lifestyle, you will not be so ravenous between meals, because your body will be truly nourished by healthy whole food choices.

Dr. Oz gave people quite a few new reasons that are uncommon that may be responsible for fatigue and the feeling of being tired all the time.
The h. pylori bacteria in your stomach can play a big role in a person’s exhaustion. The inability to breathe through one’s nose affects oxygen levels in the blood which alters energy levels. The inflammation in your body zaps your energy. And last, but not least, Dr. Oz worries that you are engaged in mindless eating!
Dr. Oz and Reasons Why You Are So Tired
It’s one thing to expect coffee to do all the work alone to provide morning energy…your body needs real whole foods in the morning to propel you through the day. I find it hard to believe that Dr. Oz really believes that wearing loose-fitting clothes is the culprit. They are better than ties and belts and tight jeans with bras, girdles, and other articles of clothing that choke the flow of energy through the body as well as restricting blood flow and circulation. He wears scrubs afterall…
I cannot endorse leaving food on your plate, in the pan, or at the bottom of the bag. You paid for it, food is a precious resource, and nothing should go to waste. The change in the choice of ingredients in the food you eat will make the difference.
Really…it’s OK to lick your spoon of peanut butter, eat that last bite of mashed potatoes when made with healthy ingredients, and nibble on the broken crumbs of potato chips at the bottom of the bag. When you eat with the intention to eat healthy foods, you will not mindlessly waste anything.
Dr. Oz recommended mixing avocado with yogurt to replace mayo, but he forgets that his daughter Daphne and his wife Lisa have soy mayo as a substitute, although avocado spread is just fine. too.
Dr. Oz stopped short of naming the Nopales cactus. In addition to jam, Nopalea makes a palatable drink that reduces inflammation in the body.
I must reprimand Dr. Oz yet again for recommending Cordyceps as a stand-alone supplement. It is traditionally combined with a formula…the same goes for Astragalus!
Chinese Herbs Direct – Hundreds of Chinese herbal remedies, formulas and teas for a variety of health conditions.
Dr. Oz missed several key reasons for tiredness. Heavy Metal Poisoning from mercury, arsenic, colloidal silver, cadmium, nickel, or lead is often the axis of fatigue.
Sub-acute infections are commonly responsible for extreme fatigue. The toxic nature of hair spray, make-up, cleaning products, and aerosols among others can deplete the body. Even the use of cell phones, electrical appliances, electric blankets, and other strong EM Fields will zap your energy levels.
It takes the change to a healthy Lifestyle to turn this around. There is boundless energy available to you, you simply have to learn to access and harness it!

Dr. Oz gave his audience four teas to add to their arsenal of healthy beverages that go beyond mere green and black tea.
Don’t discount the obvious health benefits of green and black tea, just expand your horizons! Green tea is still on your list of healthy beverages fit for daily consumption.
Dr. Oz and his expert discussed the qualities of four teas as a part of this hour of butt fat busters. While drinking tea is not the method of choice to trim the excess from your buttocks, it is going to begin to support your metabolism and satisfy your thirst.
Dr. Oz 4 Butt Busting ideas
These teas are not new to us, but they are not commonly known to the masses. Pu-erh, white tea, chickweed tea, and bilberry tea are readily available in healthy circles and fine tea houses.
You can find these teas at health food stores or online, but be sure to get them as fresh as possible. Brewing these teas is generally the same so once you earn from the masters…you will have the skill to brew all the teas and herbal beverages.
Most people don’t care for the taste of bilberry alone, so they combine it with other blends of herbs, citrus fruit, and sweeteners. The other three are pleasant plain or dressed up a bit to suit your personal style.
The variety of tea doesn’t stop here, but it does expand what most Americans know about tea. Long ago, Celestial Seasonings broke new ground by pioneering the introduction of tea blends. many of us who appreciated this effort have carried on the tradition of exploration and discovery.
Organic and Specialty Loose Leaf Teas, Bagged Teas, Iced Teas and Teaware.
You’ll find an assortment of white teas and Pu-erh varieties as well as many green tea and specialty teas here. It truly is an art form!

Hocus Pocus? VooDoo Medicine? Natural and safe cures and treatments? Dr. Oz talked with Dr. Mercola about some radical cures that the is foreign to physicians.
Dr. Oz and Dr. Joe Mercola
Medical doctors trained in most medical schools are limited in the scope of their training and have no idea about the cutting-edge and ancient therapeutic methods that are natural and work.
Such is the tragedy of the medical community which teaches physicians to use dangerous and toxic drugs, instead of learning about healthy natural methods of healing.
You as a patient are given the responsibility to track down a caring healthcare provider who has made the personal effort to educate themselves in ancient traditions and current discoveries and treatments.
I have trained medical doctors in Lifestyle Therapy in decades past. Most of them had patients that they could not help who came to see me with spectacular results and the patients wanted the doctors to know the truth. Those who took the training were true healers, not just licensed physicians in the system.
That’s why the FDA and other MDs worry about Dr. Joseph Mercola. He insists on bringing the best of both worlds to bear in his practice.
The eggplant extract – Curaderm – for skin lesions and skin cancer. The use of chlorella, cilantro, or parsley to detox from mercury exposure. Even the use of spices for healing and supporting the systems of the body have been discussed by Mercola. While these are not uniquely his original ideas, he does share them.
As we speak the nefarious sectors of the medical community and drug companies are trying to figure out how to control and regulate the nutritional supplements industry and other types of methods outside the current regulatory purview. But there are doctors like Oz and Mercola who saw the writing on the wall, because their patients got smart and demanded it.
You still have to watch them like a hawk, they tend to prescribe supplements like they used to prescribe drugs. That’s a bad habit…
For instance, today Dr. Oz said that he loves white bean extract, but why doesn’t he love white bean dishes just as much? He loves Krill Oil, but how much fish does he eat and how often does he eat sea vegetables? He tells you about Rhodiola one day for your brain and then another today when some Peppermint Tea or a drop of the Essential Oil of peppermint would be better. He recommends products for memory, instead of using his mind to accomplish this! He pushes pills endlessly…
Now he is trying to convince you to buy cheap commercial cosmetics and soaps at drug stores. Don’t fall for that non-sense. Go to the top salons and get a good haircut, instead of slathering cheap crap and using sunscreen or static sheets on your hair! Go to the Whole Foods markets and find effective cosmetics for a fair price on their shelves.
He blows on his razor, he relies on dermatologists that don’t think outside their box, and he tries to save you money, instead of pointing you in the right direction for your health.
Oh, well…eventually his patients will clue him in!

It’s a constant problem with Dr. Oz…
He behaves and sounds like a ‘drug lord’ and prescribes supplements as if they were drugs.
Dr. Oz and Belly Fat Boosters
I find it to be irresponsible. In 35 years, I have never tested very many supplements that do as much as Dr. Oz claims they will do. He is misleading people and he needs to take a step back to re-evaluate his role in bringing coherent information to the attention of the public.
If you are going to act on the advice given by this individual, then at least get a second opinion with someone who uses EAV testing equipment. I think you may be surprised by the results.
It’s as if he is setting you up with a buffet of supplements with 500 mg. here and 100 mg. there…twice a day for this and three times a day for that. It gives nutritional science a bad name…
Before you take DHEA (7 keto) and the other belly fat busters mentioned on the show today, you need to do more to research one or the other for yourself, rather than going into uncharted territory blind.
No one in their right mind takes saffron or caraway seeds as a supplement…they cook with these substances. Even the supplement derived from a plant in the mint family is better consumed as a plant – not a pill.
If I were to take one day’s worth of supplements that Dr. Oz says will do so much for me – selling it like a used car salesman – I would be bloated, filled with gas, and experiencing digestive upset.
Deepak Chopra is on his way to catching up with Dr. oz in the bad reputation department. He approaches Adaptogens like a pharmaceutical, too. He treats meditation as a cure for the physical dimension before admitting that until you ‘change your mind’, your body will not heal, No number of minutes and breaths a day or Sanskrit mantras will do the work that Consciousness must do. he’s not giving you the full picture, most likely because he doesn’t possess it himself. His methods are but a distraction…
Later Dr. Oz finished his day’s deal-making by suggesting that you eat a cereal for breakfast, a lunch with sauerkraut, and some miso soup.
The sauerkraut and other fermented foods are OK, but never settle for instant miso soup as oz implied…it’s not the same. You make miso soup from miso paste and water, adding scallions, tofu, and other healthy ingredients as you wish. Dr. Oz seems to think that there is added salt, but that’s not true. Does he even drink miso soup?
By the way…Boswellia for joint health is better when used in the form of an Essential Oil, not a supplement. But it would take more than an MD behind your name to know that!

There are thousands of experts and professionals who will modify or change their message about living Well over time, but my message doesn’t ebb and flow with the tide of social constructs or market conditions.
It’s still the same message about what is involved in living a healthy Lifestyle after 1200 posts on this blog. I have given the same information in classes, workshops, group presentations, panel discussions, videos, and with individuals for more than 35 years.
I do learn more and share that as new knowledge and insights come to me, but at the core the approach is steadfast.
In other words, it works…

On Friday’s show Dr. Oz and his guest shared a recipe for a snack attack dessert that is supposed to help to flatten your belly.
He finally posted the recipe on his website:
Dr. Oz Recipe for the 5 layer Flat Belly Dessert
If you plan on using a cake mix, make it an organic one. It will taste better. You cannot use flax seeds without grinding them into a meal for this recipe. The coconut milk and agave syrup are very healthy ingredients.
It’s one thing to shave dark chocolate over the cake, but most of us want more… A little ganache or chocolate syrup sweetened with agave never hurt anyone’s waistline…
Dr. Oz appears to hold the belief that healthy desserts won’t taste good, but in my experience they are worlds better than those made with artificial ingredients.

Once upon a time, we rarely snacked between our three major meals a day. Then as women entered the workplace and no one was home with enough time to prepare a complete breakfast and lunch (or so the story goes); men were forced to snack between waking up and eating dinner to stave off that gnawing hunger.
I don’t buy that excuse and attribute it more to either laziness or time-management. Anyone can learn to find the time and build the skills needed to make a decent breakfast and lunch.
However, if you are the kind of person who is going to snack; it might as well be a choice for healthy snacks that provide nutrients, instead of empty calories.
Dr. Oz discussed snacks and with his own preferences in mind, he gave you some of his best ideas. I would never freeze guacamole!
His dessert recipe was fine for certain occasions, but unrealistic for daily pleasures The Top Chef guest represents the portion of society that fancies restaurant-type dishes. If you are throwing a party or making it a special occasion, then here’s the recipe.
Dr. Oz and Snack Attack Recipes
I have news for you! There’s a whole world of people who have surpassed those like the doctor and are enjoying great snacks for the sheer health of it:
I dare you to compare…
