Learn to Play the Instrument!
If you are going to be in the Band or the Symphony, you will need to learn to play the Instrument and read the music!
In a similar fashion, if you are going to be a whole Human Being; then you need to learn how to play the Instrument. You need to learn how to tune this exquisite Instrument and make the music harmonious and worth listening to from the first note to the end of the Song!
I am constantly reminded that I expect most people to have a working knowledge of the parts of their physical body to which we have attached names and labels. I taught my children to be able to point to their olecranon and medial meniscus at an early age – we made it both fun and rewarding for a complete educational experience.
Many adults have no idea what the jejunum is or where their Circle of Willis is located!
It IS your body after all…
This Instrument is unique and fascinating…and the only way that a person can learn to keep it in excellent shape and condition, is to learn what parts are where and what they do – along with how to keep them doing it perfectly well!
