Healthy Lifestyles: Food Choices Make a World of Difference, Even to the MDs

Dr. Oz is correct in spending more time helping his viewers learn that Food Choices make a world of difference in regaining and maintaining true health.

Even the MDs on DoctorsTV are getting on the bandwagon for healthy Lifestyles and food choices. It’s good to see, because this is the basis of a solid foundation for a healthy Life of good health…and true Wellness.

I noticed that Walgreens is advertising with copy about helping you to stay well. They have a supplement section, but that is the only aisle that I have found that even remotely resembles the path to Wellness.

Dr. Oz had the unhealthiest individual in the country try a Quinoa Pudding today and both of them found it tasted good, even better than palatable like so many packaged pudding mixes that are grainy and artificially sweetened. Quinoa is an excellent food choice and you can prepare it to be either sweet or savory.

Quinoa is also a good addition to soups and pot pies. I love it when I saute vegetables and blend some balsamic vinegar, fresh garlic, and grated ginger into the warm quinoa. We often make quinoa cakes similar to polenta cakes and they are great for bases with a marinara or savory sauce poured over the top and sprinkled with fresh scallions and gomasio.

There was an excellent reference made to the relative importance of a healthy Lifestyle by one of the Doctors during a segment about surgical changes to the female genitalia.

Healthy Lifestyles will rely upon whole foods to rebuild your strength and your stamina. Even people who are not aging gracefully can turn that process around and find that their Real Age becomes less than their chronological age. One elderly woman at a Raw Foods Meeting in Arizona that I attended last year refused to believe that I had not had cosmetic surgery done and that I did not LOOK like I am 55 years of age.
