Healthy Halloween Treats
It makes perfect sense at this time of the year that you have to choose between Tricks or Healthy Halloween Treats!
Please…Choose Healthy Halloween candy for the kids! They’ve had plenty of tricks of the ‘refined sugar’ variety with enough artificial food coloring, chemical additives, and hydrogenated fats in their snacks to befuddle even the most innocent cells of their young bodies, so it’s certainly time to give them a healthy treat instead.
In the past few years, more and more natural foods companies have developed incredibly good candies and snacks for our children. We have many excellent choices which we’ll describe in the next few posts that will carry you through all of these great holidays ahead of us in the next several months.
First…my favorite healthy Treat for Halloween is Queen Bee Garden’s Pecan Pearls. They are individually wrapped in cellophane twists and are fun for the little ones to unwrap and chew for several minutes. You cannot inhale or gulp these down. They are chewy, sweet with honey, and melt gradually in your mouth with creamy richness. The pecans give texture with a soft crunch and the praline gives that great mouth workout that makes Halloween candy a delicious occasion of totally entertaining fun.
