Grill and Barbeque with Sauces, Dips, and Dry Rubs for Independence Day
If you are planning on using your Grill outdoors for the Fourth of July Independence Day feast or if you are going to barbeque at any time through the summer, you need to have good sauces, seasoning blends, dry rubs, and dips that will make your food taste great.
Barbecue, Grilling and Dipping Sauces
Of, course, you can build a BBQ Sauce from scratch with molasses, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, herbs, and spices; but you might not quite get the flavor that you are looking for when winging it on your own… It all depends upon your degree of skill at blending ingredients in the kitchen.
These BBQ sauces are in bottles and ready for you use. If you find that you like one or the other, then study the ingredients and come up with your own recipe. These sauces will give you ideas to work from to develop your very own.
You may not be able to find some of the spices in your neighborhood store or you might have never heard of one of the ingredients. It’s good to explore your options. Food during Independence Day parties is one of the reasons why people get out and socialize on this holiday. We have created a tradition of celebrating this holiday with food prepared outdoors and served outdoors while watching the kids play and the fireworks later in the evening. The food needs to be really GOOD!
So to get more ‘bang for your buck’, you can use organic ingredients or give these bottled sauces and seasonings a chance to impress your family and your guests this year. While I am in favor of the powerful flavor that comes from fresh organics, there is a place for bottled sauces at this time of the year.
I would also suggest that you experiment with grilling fresh organic fruits like pineapple, peaches, and bananas for dessert. You can use a glaze of ginger root, honey, lemon juice, and mint to guild the Lily. Cinnamon and other spices are perfect for both sweet and savory grilling.
You might as well put the vegetables on the Grill, too. Roasted red peppers, eggplant, potatoes, artichokes, fennel, onions, and other veggies make a BBQ into an Event to Remember for years to come! You can perk them up on the grill with organic olive oil, garlic, grated ginger root, turmeric, cumin, and other flavorful spices. Top them off with fresh herbs like parsley, cilantro, chives, scallions, and basil. You can even sprinkle some Gomasio on your roasted vegetables, salads, and beans to add that special ‘something’ that makes it all taste better!
