Fukushima Radiation: Changing the Menu of Seafood from Now Until Further Notice
The genuine threat of Fukushima radiation in Pacific seafood has motivated one Chef to remove all suspect seafood off of his menu to prevent exposure to his guests. He will offer Salmon from another continent that comes from pristine fresh streams to his clientele instead of risky Pacific salmon who have been swimming in contaminated ocean waters since 2011. This responsible and thoughtful Chef is ethical and acting to ensure the health and well-being of anyone coming into his establishment to consume food that he feels is tasty and healthy.
California Chef Smartly Removes North Pacific Seafood From His Menu Due to Fukushima Radiation Risk
It is my hope that other chefs and food industry purveyors would follow his lead on this immediately. There are many reports that we are seeing that indicates that radiation levels on the West Coast of North America is reaching dangerous levels. On the side of safety and reason, it’s time to stop consuming anything that has been in the Pacific Ocean from now on until there is absolute certainty that there is no risk from radiation.
There are plenty of choices for seafood that is safe to eat. The Chef has put some great items on his menu that he feels he can stand behind when it comes to taking care of his house. If I were you, I wouldn’t eat at any restaurant that doesn’t have a safe food policy in place from now until we learn how to live in a sustainable manner on this planet.
You have to be able to trust what you choose to eat!
So watch out for Pacific seafood and Gulf seafood and any other pocket of the ocean or ecosystem that is suspect; then you can feel that you are doing your part to protect our food supply and our health.
