Field to Table: Sustainable Agriculture is the Salvation You Seek
Do you want to know one of the biggest free health secrets that will sustain you through all the years of your lives?
You can go from ‘field’ to ‘table’ when you support ‘Sustainable Agricultural Practices’. Your life will be extended, you will enjoy a higher ‘quality of Life’, and you will not be struck down with degenerative diseases in the prime of your Life or in your senior years.
It all begins with the Soil. You simply MUST eat produce and foods that have been grown in great topsoil that contains high levels of nutrients and other factors that yield healthy harvests.
You can compost your waste to build up the soil in your garden or field. Earthworms are more valuable than you might imagine! Soil amendments and sustainable practices are going to keep the food that comes from the soil healthy and filled with energy. When you eat from your garden, buy from your farmers, and eat a plant-based whole foods diet; you are going to live long and prosper.
The food that you prepare in your kitchen and put on your table is best when it is locally grown and sourced. Although there are many reasons to include a diverse array of herbs, spices, and whole foods in your diet, your sustenance depends upon your ability to support your local community of growers, farmers, ranchers, and providers.
I watched “Endless Harvest’ that airs on television and was recently held in Oregon. Nancy’s yogurt is far superior to national brands. Local produce was gathered to feed nearly one hundred people who were celebrating the ‘endless feast’ which was derived from local vendors and suppliers and chefs. It’s more than a trend, it’s more than a fad…it’s the way to live well upon the land.
The healthy food movement in this country and around the world is learning to throw out the companies like Monsanto and Cargill among thousands of others who have trampled the traditions that keep people healthy and strong. The time for mega-corporations is over. They are not going to succeed in controlling the seed stock, nor are they going to get away with compromising the quality of our food or the condition of our fields. We are watching, we have learned, and we are doing things differently to preserve what has worked in the past and what will sustain us into the future.
Who are we? We are the ones who have learned the hard way and know enough to change the way we do things from ‘field to table’ while we educate our children and save the next generation…and perhaps protect the earth in the process!
