Dr. Oz, Elmo, Chefs Emeril and Art Smith: Healthy Cupcakes, Turkey Loaf, and Lucious Strawberries
Dr. Oz and Emeril Live featured the adorable new child-like voice of Elmo on their shows today.
Emeril cooked turkey loaf and the furry critters had a run in with a turkey who could tame any chef in the kitchen… I liked the theme of the show that spoke about the health benefits of using colorful fruit and vegetables in your dishes. Strawberries were the prize amidst towers of whipped cream and biscuits fresh out of the oven as Emeril stacked them to the ceiling. I would rather opt for the fresh strawberries with an organic chocolate dip!
At least Emeril let Elmo wear the chef’s hat and allowed the furry drummer to borrow his wooden spoons. I was entertained while enjoying the children and parents in the audience that were showing their future generation that healthy food is fun… Dr. Oz did seem to have a good time with Elmo and Chef Art Smith while they made healthy vegan Cupcakes on today’s episode of Dr. Oz.
Dr. Oz and Elmo Making Hummingbird Cupcakes
Chef Art Smith shared one of his recipes for vegan Cupcakes. I would have substituted the apple sauce and used chickpea flour instead, but Elmo made the food preparation segment funny and worth watching. The chef could have done a better job with the cupcake frosting, but he didn’t take the time to earn extra credit for presentation. He will not be invited to appear or judge Cupcake Wars on the Food Network!
There have been several vegan cupcake bakers on the Food Network’s show, Cupcake Wars. Most of these bakers presented delicious and attractive cupcakes during the competition and you can find them on the website for the Cooking Channel TV or the Food Network site.
I think that the walnuts could have been toasted with a little maple syrup or blue agave syrup to add to the garnish on the top of these cupcakes. There are times when I wish that I still owned the Saratoga Inn and could go into the kitchen and provide our guests with delicious vegetarian organic desserts that would make any furry critter or chef croon.
The variety of organic ingredients are easier to find these days compared to the days when I owned the Origin Trail. If only we had all of the finest foods from organic growers then, we could have had a franchise business that would have been as popular in California and New York as it was in Wyoming. I am watching Bobby Flay for the next trend in the restaurant business and I like the sweet lady who cares about the quality of healthy food. She changed her name from Compleat to Harvest Sol. I like both names and her brand will catch much attention in the future. Perhaps kombu and wakame with miso soup will be featured in these new establishments to help people with the radioactive risk to their health.
Dr. Oz shared the stage with a Fox News medical expert and Michio Kaku who gave the skinny on the dangers of the radioactive danger from the leak from Japan’s Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant. They still down-played the severity of this event, but they were fair in their discussion of the symptoms of radiation poisoning. Headaches, nausea, digestive upset, among others were mentioned, but they failed to mention hair falling out and skin lesions. Although that is usually what happens when you are TOO close for comfort.
Liquid Zeolite is the natural choice with Liquid Ionic Iodine instead of Potassium Iodide tablets. The experts did give accurate information about why no one in our country should be popping those pills! If you eat kombu and wakame and nori, drink miso soup, and use sea salt; then your thyroid gland will be just fine here in this country. You are much greater risk from using cell phones than suffering from nuclear radiation! Get those CieAura Holographic Chips I keep telling you about!
Elmo did get Dr. Oz into the kitchen and into the element that he needs most to bring balance to his show to give his audience the blend of knowledge and application in the kitchen on his show. It’s a good trend and I hope it continues!
By the way, this company has a contest for winning Food Storage which you will need during a natural disaster with or without a nuclear radioactive component:
