Dr. Oz and the Carbs That Make Diets Work or Fail: Chris Powell Meets the Sisters
Dr. Oz once again is talking about Diets. This time on today’s show, he introduced Chris Powell who usually works with extremely obese individuals and features their stories on TV.
Chris talked CARBS…
Dr. Oz and Chris Powell on Carbs and Dieting
He begins with people by throwing out their refined carbohydrate-laden foods like potato chips, cakes, cookies, flour, and similar foods that pack on the pounds.
Chris met with two sisters who want to tackle their weight issues. He had them running up the desert mountain path to inspire them. I recognized that mountain range around Phoenix, Arizona where I once lived and taught people the value of a healthy Lifestyle.
The transformation of an obese body begins with the Mind Set. You have to have the passion and motivation to change your body image through a healthy Lifestyle. Exercise is only one of the ways this happens. Chris and Dr. Oz talked about three things.
The environment was probably the most profound aspect that they presented to the audience. You have to remove the unhealthy food from your kitchen pantry and put healthy items there to replace them. You have to discipline yourself to purchase only the best and highest quality of healthy foods to eat from now on. It’s imperative that you don’t cheat yourself into complacency or gimmicks.
Chris showed the audience a neat gadget with a metal spring inside the beverage container to mix a protein drink at home or on the road or at work. While this caters to powdered protein blends, it does not meet my expectations for making Smoothies with organic fresh fruit and vegetables. But it’s a good start. Chris wanted people to take in some protein every three hours.
Chris showed the audience an easy exercise with the help of the two sisters and Dr. Oz. He made the point that they could be there for each other and that when people work as a Team, it gives them an edge for success.
While this is yet another Diet, it is a better beginning approach than the typical thing that Dr. Oz shares with you. At least you were given the impetus to get rid of the flour, the sugar, and the refined carbs in your kitchen this time!
If you’re as smart as I wish you to be, you would pass ‘Diet’ and go right over to Raw Foods and macrobiotic cuisine combined to give you a known path to healthy weight management.
