Dr. Oz and the Big Amino Acid Mistake with Tyrosine, Exotic Foods for Longevity, and Humor on the Oz Stage

Today was a strange episode for Dr. Oz with his quirky attempts at medical humor on stage with people who really do belong on Late Night TV, instead of daytime educational programs.

Jimmy Fallon is a funny guy, but when it comes to inappropriate subject material on daytime TV, he takes the cake and smears it on the television screen. You hear stories of how fun it is in the operating room with doctors who play music and make jokes to lighten the mood, but this demo with Dr. Oz just went too far south.

If a person was drunk, stoned, or used to vulgar slurs; then perhaps that person might laugh a little on the stage with the scrubs on. I hope the production staff avoids this mess from now on…it was an irresponsible effort to bring gross levity where it didn’t belong.

The segment on exotic foods from Japan, Mexico, and Korea was more decent. It’s true that you would need to include these foods that were featured in your regular diet for the suggested benefits for Longevity. Frankly, there are better choices for exotic foods for Longevity that could have been shown like the Cupuacu superfruit from Brazil. That’s the up-and-coming superfood for Longevity and Wellness that deserves more attention in the media. Kim Chi, corn specially processed, and sea urchin are hardly distinctive right now. They are well-known to anyone who eats a variety of ethnic cuisines on a regular basis, instead of a bland diet of milk toast.

It is fair to say that fermented foods are good choices for people wanting to live long and prosper. It is fair to say that sushi is a delicacy and good for one’s health when fresh and fished in clean waters. It is fair to say that whole grains that contain bio-available nutrients are going to be good for one’s health in the long run. But there is nothing all that exotic about the foods that Dr. Oz tasted with trepidation today.

Where was the Amasake from Japan? Where were the sprouted mung beans from Korea? Where were the black beans from Mexico? Those are going to do more for Longevity than the foods Dr. Oz nibbled upon today.

And speaking of better suggestions and recommendations…

I implore you to never take Amino Acids alone and separate from one another. Dr. Oz is WRONGO in the CONGO when he prescribed Tyrosine. It is not to be taken like an isolated drug or vitamin. This advice will throw your body out of Balance! Stupid, stupid, and utterly stupid… PLease do not take any Amino Acid alone.

I don’t care if you’ve written a book and try to convince people that they can reverse being fatigued and exhausted with quick fixes that don’t take other health factors and Lifestyle choices into consideration. You can coach all of the Hollywood and TV crowd that you want, but that doesn’t make you right. The 7 Day Energy Surge won’t last and you’ll find yourself looking for some other solution when you find yourself back in the business of being bereft of energy.

Come on, Jim, you can do better than this… Throw out the alarm clock and go to sleep early enough in the evening to awaken naturally without a blaring alarm feeling refreshed, renewed, and eager to start the day. Do eat a good breakfast, but remember to pay attention to food combinations. Do not EVER supplement with isolates. Take a complete mineral supplement and take a complete array of Amino Acids! Period.

Wheatgrass? Really? How on earth can you recommend that with a straight face when there are much better choices readily available that don’t result in a grimace on one’s face? Spirulina and other superfoods are going to do more for you than wheatgrass. Do not dilute your coffee with milk. If you want to alter your favorite beverage, then use soy milk, rice milk, coconut milk, or almond milk instead of cow’s milk.

OK, the advice for a better night’s sleep are sound. Relaxing music is going to soothe the savage beast before retiring for the night. Once again, I beg you to throw out your alarm clock. If you need something to gently bring you to wakefulness, get a play system with sounds from Nature and a lighting system that gradually comes on at a specific time.

Two minutes does not a backrub make… It makes sense to spend at least ten to fifteen minutes with some pleasant massage, if you are going to make it count. OK…enough of the judging for now! Just be careful that your surge doesn’t roll over you like a tsunami’s wave….

It’s OK if you supplement your food with the full spectrum of Amino Acids in one supplement. Vital 18 is the perfect example of what you can do without harming your health. I hope that Dr. Oz will do his homework before putting your health at risk like that in the future. I am dismayed and concerned that people would trust statements that should never have been made on today’s show.

no wonder all of these comments here seem so fake, it’s bc you deny anyone that doesn’t agree with your ridiculous opinions. so sad. i def. will never come back here.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I can back mine up with more than mere words. It’s fine with me that you think that it’s sad and that you’ll never return.

I have never approved any ‘fake’ comment. They are all real. Your suspicion is suspicious… I have debated all sides of a variety of issues since I was in high school, so it doesn’t bother me to have people who share a diverse number of observations, experiences, opinions, and points of view. You sound like you are a ‘whiner’, so you might want to support your Metal Element with herbs and acupuncture.
