Dr. Oz and Oprah Finally Do Acupuncture, Energy Medicine, and Kegel Exercises!
Well…it’s about time! Finally, Dr. Oz gets Oprah to have her first Acupuncture experience. She was a little tenuous, but she did just fine. The most interesting and valid statement Dr. Oz made today was about the emerging value being placed upon Energy Medicine. That’s my Specialty: Bio-Energetic Medicine and Lifestyle Therapy. We have been doing this since the 1980’s clinically and in the 1970’s through Lifestyle practices for Wellness.
Oprah was cute when she was concerned about the potential for pain with needle insertion. Most well-trained Practitioners are very competent and pain is minimal. It lasts a microsecond and if your Acupuncturist knows enough to use auricular points to relieve stress from perception of a painful treatment; then it will be virtually painless. The more important thing to pay attention to is that the patient feels the “chi” move from the treatment – which IS the purpose of the use of needles in the first place!
Kegel exercises are ‘old news’ for many of us who have assisted women to tone their muscles after childbirth or prolapse. My introduction was with Mantak Chia who was trained as a Taoist to use these muscles toners for enhancing sexual satisfaction and performance, since it does increase the intensity of the orgasm for women. Kegels tone the Urinary Bladder System muscle groups in addition to the Reproductive System muscles. The Taoists became masters of sexual practices in addition to healing many centuries ago…it’s just recently that Western culture opened to Eastern knowledge.
As for Botox – just don’t do it! There are superior practices that are far more effective and less costly than using a dangerous bio-toxin to alter nerve and muscle response.
Cellulite is responsive to specific therapeutic Essential Oils which I will address in a future post. It is an indicator that your body’s fatty metabolism is out of balance and in need of adjustment…systemically!
I agree completely with Dr. Oz about not douching. There are better ways to maintain the health of the reproductive organs. I am not a fan of colonics either, and prefer that people work on their digestive processes instead of forcing the issue. We are talking “Wellness” here, not intervention.
Well, well, well…Angela just came out of her acupuncture session free of shoulder pain and pleased with her experience. Dr. Hsu was correct in that she needs regular treatments until the causes of the pain are alleviated – remember “Wellness”. Now Oprah is thinking “Energy Medicine” and more Acupuncture is in store for her in the future.
I just hope her Acupuncturist addresses “dampness” and the Spleen Meridian flow for Oprah’s long-term Wellness. This was a good episode and I sincerely hope she finds people like me who know their way around “Energy Medicine” or as we have called it for almost three decades “Bio-Energetic Medicine” and Lifestyle Therapy.
