It’s no surprise that the amazing combo of Dr. Oz and Oprah would tackle one of the most challenging health risks known to Western Medicine which includes the risk of developing many types of cancer. I am so pleased to see Dr. Oz and Dr. Daniel assist people in designing a Healthier Lifestyle.
What is surprising is that Dr. Oz is not aware of the “Energy Medicine” reason for people’s addiction to smoking and that the failure to address this cause first precludes the ultimate success for behavior modification and the goal of breathing free of cigarettes.
People are addicted to smoking and find it virtually impossible to quit because they have “injured” the “Metal Element” or the Lung Meridian “Chi” of the lungs and large intestine. This is a subtle “injury” caused by consuming “cold” foods, beverages, and other substances which put out the “fire” of the energy that fuels the function of your lungs – respiration and circulation of oxygen and other gases.
If you do not begin your journey by supporting your “Metal Element” – Lungs and Large Intestine – by changing your dietary routine of specific foods and beverages; then it is basically useless to even start…since you are so likely to fail!
The secret is this: You are unconsciously attempting to warm the Lung Chi by using tobacco which is a warming herbal plant (energetically). The use of tobacco benefits the “injured” Lung Chi. It is a normal and natural inclination, which is why smoking is so addictive and feels good to you. But it is the “warming” effect you are actually seeking, not necessarily the tobacco.
Now here’s a novel idea…smoke electronic cigarettes. These are all the rage and it will help you change the habits moving toward a healthier set of behaviors with smoking.
The “warming” effect can come from many different foods, herbs, and beverages. This is the key to Smoking Cessation. You must support the “Metal Element” and the Lung Chi with some mix of herbs, foods, and drink to accomplish or you will never be free of the desire for tobacco!
Acupuncture helps, but it needs to be augmented with dietary changes to truly be comprehensive and successful in the overall Plan. You know how willful you are to decide to avoid social triggers like parties and bars with other smokers where you typically smoke with them…or if you can refuse to wimp out in these instances. Just be sure to have something to keep in your hands, to keep your fingers busy holding something besides a butt or a drink to compensate.
You need to have healthy nibbles snacks that are called “finger foods” to take the place of the cigarettes. Keep healthy snacks in your hands and make them available to you at all times. These snacks need to be “warming” foods and snacks.

Several of the brands look so similar to real cigarettes that it’s difficult to tell the difference. If you want to smoke in areas that are designated as ‘no smoking’ zones in public places, I would recommend the Blu brand to set the look apart and not force the staff to try to get you to quit. Then again, if you just want the look to feel like you are smoking as usual, I would go with the Victory or the Greensmoke brands.
