Dr. Oz and His Fabulous Avocado Smoothie and Healthy Snack Ideas
Today is yet another day that we discuss the Smoothies and Shakes of Doctor Oz! He always makes a good effort to give his audience a healthy alternative for a Snack or a beverage that is better for you than the usual fast food stuff that you STUFF into your mouths when you didn’t know any better! Now you do…
Dr. Oz asked Marie Osmond to taste his fabulous Avocado Smoothie that he thinks her brood will love. She was pleasantly surprised and it’s met her standards for tasting good, while delivering a lot of nutrition…now that she’s on a health kick as a spokesperson for a weight loss company and dancing off the pounds. For children and for adults, we think there are a few changes to the Avocado Smoothie that need to be made before it’s fit for human consumption!
Doctor Oz Recipe for the Brazilian Avocado Smoothie
First and foremost, you have to replace the cow’s milk with almond milk, coconut milk, rice milk, or soy milk. If you have your own goats or have a fresh supply of goat’s milk locally; then that will suffice, too, as long as they are eating well.
Next, be sure to use organic Avocado, because they generally taste better, are usually ripened on the tree, and contain more nutrients and fewer toxins due to the care that organic growers give to their produce. Haas Avocados are generally going to give you a better smooth texture which gives this Smoothie it’s creamy richness. It will be a good idea to become an avid avocado feeler to know when an avocado is ripe and ready for a Smoothie, a salad, or guacamole.
Grasp the avocado with your entire hand and gently apply pressure to your fingers. You want an avocado that gives a little, but doesn’t mush in your grasp. Cut around the entire avocado with a knife and remove the pit to plant it in your garden or a container. Use a spoon to remove all the green goodness. When you add it to the blender, sprinkle a pinch of salt to bring out the flavor and make alchemical magic happen. Then add your organic blue agave syrup or honey. If you want to thin out the Smoothie and make it colder, use the ice cubes; but we prefer it without ice. Use cold almond milk instead to cool the mixture sufficiently to be more refreshing.
The other thing that we want you to experiment with is the addition of organic cacao powder or chocolate. In the world of Raw Food people, we enjoy combining avocado and chocolate to make a delicious dip or spread. But in the Smoothie world, you can hardly resist the chocolate taste sensation of any Smoothie and this applies equally to the Oz Brazilian Avocado Smoothie. Now we’re talking ‘beverage bliss’!
Later in this episode of Dr. Oz, he was asked about the nutritional value of cashews and he responded favorably by telling the person that he prefers walnuts, but cashews are also a good snack. You don’t ever have to sacrifice one nut for another! You can rotate your nut snacks to include a variety to keep your taste buds happy…
Nuts are great both sweet and savory – although you want to be careful what ingredients you use to make them either! Sweetening nuts takes glazing them with honey or maple syrup or organic cane sugar glaze drizzled over them on a tray and allowing them to dry. You can combine nuts with raisins or dried berries or other dried fruit pieces if you don’t want to take the time to glaze your nuts. When you make them savory, use sea salt and spices with herbs that are organic and fresh to enhance their flavor profile and get the best nutrition from these ingredients. There are good recipes on our affiliate partner websites, especially on Frontier, Raw Food World, and Love Street Living Foods. You can also find nut recipes on the Food Network and Martha Stewart Living. Nuts will easily become your favorite new healthy snack choice!
Gluten-Free Foods also carries bunches of healthy snack items, so check out their website and see what you can tempt yourself and your family with today and for months to come. It will become a Lifestyle to choose healthy and flavorful snacks. We also encourage you to taste Abundance Pulse and try some of the candies on Raw Food World’s website. You’ll never get any flack for eating these healthy snacks!
The kids are going to praise you for bringing them a new group of healthy snacks and foods that are gluten-free, so they won’t ever have to suffer from intestinal distress due to the sensitivity to wheat and other grains that cause inflammation, irritation, and pain.

I like your vantage point. My study has shown your points to be true, but I have also seen the opposite from other posts like this one. Do you have any thoughts for finding more smart info on gardening or related topics? I would certainly appreciate it!
