Dr. Oz and His Cancer Experts: What Constitutes True Prevention?

Dr. Oz shared information with three experts about cancer treatment and prevention of today’s show. There’s a huge difference between preventing cancer and being well.

He actually did mention that the ‘whole body’ is being treated now, instead of the disease alone. He talked about Complimentary Therapies and then introduced his experts.

Dr. Oz even included a Nutritionist on his panel along with two more traditional professionals. Integrated Care is one of the up-and-coming trends in Western Medicine which we championed decades ago and is finally becoming more prevalent in major institutions and facilities. Patient Advocacy is relatively new, but absolutely needed when determining the care for any cancer patient.

One of the audience members asked about preventing lung cancer and the expert mentioned the importance of environmental factors that are at the core of prevention. If you live in a polluted environment in your home, at work, or in your local community; then move! You must… Contaminated water supplies, soil that has been compromised, air pollution, and synthetic chemicals in household products, clothing, and cleaning products all can injure the lungs, making the tissue more susceptible to disease.

The nutritional value of cruciferous vegetables combined with spices was demonstrated with cabbage, cauliflower, and other veggies being roasted with a sprinkling of black pepper, turmeric, and garlic enhanced the properties that keep the body free from cancer. Sure they taste great when roasted this way, but steaming is even better. You can use these vegetables in soups, stews, and stir fry dishes. Raw food salads and side dishes are even more potent and powerful!

However, you must freshly grind your black pepper corns; you must use fresh organic garlic, instead of powder; and you will want to use organic turmeric that still has the active oils for these spices to contribute to the strength of your Immune System. In fact, use the Essential Oils of Thyme, Oregano, Lemon, and others to protect your body from the invasion of the pathogens that are the causal agents of cancer.

The discussion about raw foods, minimally-cooked food, and fully cooked foods was interesting. There is merit to Raw Foods and we don’t have the time to get deeply involved in the discussion here, but whole foods in their raw form have many nutrients and co-factors that are destroyed with heat. As much as possible, eat your fruits, nuts, seeds, and greens in their original form.

Steam your veggies, make stir fry dishes, soups, and stews with root vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, and dark leafy greens. Use fresh herbs and make sure your spices are organic. Of, course, you’ll cook your lentils, beans, split peas, whole grains, and other foods that require preparation beyond their raw form to be edible. Be creative and learn from those who have healed their bodies with whole foods!

Yes, you need to be sure you have adequate quantities of vitamin D and other nutrients. Sure you need to have pure water! You surely require whole organic foods and clothing, natural cleaning products, and all things natural in your daily world… Although your attention needs to be on living well, instead of trying to prevent a disease!

You may have heard rumblings of the pleomorphic nature of cancer. That’s another topic for another day; but it stands to reason that if you are going to be well which prevents any disease…you will address viral agents, bacteria, yeast, and other micro-organisms before they mutate in any tissue or fluid in your body. This takes you far beyond preventing cancer or screening tests; it takes you into the world of living a healthy Lifestyle. That’s what we’re here for…to show you the path to Wellness and Longevity with a true ‘quality of Life’.
