Dr. Oz and Fainting: Taking Some Preventative Measures

I have never fainted, so I cannot speak about what it’s like to regain consciousness after dropping to the floor following a fainting spell. But given that I am smart enough to have never fainted in more than half a century; that gives me a little insight as to what measures you can take to prevent fainting or to recover after an episode.

Waking up after blacking out can be very scary and it takes a minute or two to figure out what happened and what to do next. This next minute to five minutes can be a very important time frame when you can prevent any damage to your brain, your nervous system, and to your heart’s circulatory system.

If you sense that you are going to faint or if you are opening your eyes and realize that you just fainted, the first thing to do is to take several slow and deep breaths. This will enable you to bring oxygen into your lungs and to your brain and into the bloodstream.

Slow and rhythmical breathing will help your body come back into a relative state of balance. It will signal your body and brain that you have survived the initial cause of the fainting spell and it will begin to help your metabolism find its normal pattern again. Fresh air is most desired, but the pace is even more important to your recovery…take it slow and steady. Fill your lungs deeply and fully, exhale just as slowly and this will reset your metabolic pace.

If you are alone, do a mental checklist for injuries in case you bonked your head on the way down or fell in a way that injured your ankles or hips. If you feel any pain, especially if it is shooting sharp pain; don’t try to move and wait for assistance. If you can find the most comfortable position to alleviate any pressure or stress on your body; then that also gives your nervous system time to regain normalcy.

If someone comes to tend to you, talk to them as you interact in order to prevent them from moving you if you’re injured or in pain. If you think that you need to be transported to the hospital, then ask them to call 911 for the Medics and EMS. Wait patiently and calmly…and remember to breathe.

A few sips of pure water or apple or orange juice are fine if you know that your neck and throat are alright. This will give your blood sugar a little boost and supply a little oxygen if the water is purified or if it is ozonated or structured water. If you have a drink with electrolytes…that’s fine. Dont’ go guzzling a caffeinated soda or gulp a bunch of coffee. Ease your body back into normalcy.

If you have a packet of Vital 18 with you in your purse or pocket or backpack within reach, then you can take an ounce of Vital 18 which is going to provide vital nutrients immediately for recovery and support. You can drink the syrup directly out of the bottle or the packet or mix it with a little water or juice. This will give you all the protein, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates, and energy needed to support your body’s recovery from fainting. As Dr. Oz stated today, fainting can occur when your blood sugar is too low.

You can have a bottle of Eucalyptus Essential Oil or Peppermint Essential Oil on hand and place a drop on each wrist, then a drop on your temple and a drop on the back of your neck. Inhale the vapors by holding your wrists to your nostrils and take some slow and intentionally deep breaths while holding your breath for a few seconds longer than usual for you, but not too long. This will give you a little pep from the energy of the Oils. If you want to prevent fainting in the first place; then eating small regular meals throughout the day and enjoying an accompaniment of healthy beverages, including pure water is ideal. Your body requires nutrients constantly and if you fail to provide them or restrict oxygen; then you are more likely to faint from deficiency and fatigue.

If you are working or living in a smoke-filled office or room in your home; then you need to bring in some fresh air or go out for a break several times a day. The smoke from cigarettes and cigars will deplete your blood and your lack of oxygen can be a causative factor in fainting. The supplementation with germanium will help to transport oxygen in your red blood cells and assist with the delivery of oxygen to your cells. If there is smoke, you should counter that smoke with nutritional support using liquid Ionic Germanium. If you do the very least; then at least keep a bottle of ozonated or structured water with you at all times and sip it every twenty minutes to an hour during the day. You need to be hydrated or else you increase the risk for fainting. Most municipal sources of water no longer have enough trace minerals or oxygen to work well for you. Get a good bottle and keep it handy!

The body responds in various ways when there are nutritional deficiencies and fainting is one of those moments when the body says, “I don’t have what I need to keep everything going”. So if you take a regular multi-vitamin-mineral supplement; then that’s good. What’s better is to eat foods that are grown in good soil and have trace minerals that they gladly give to you when you eat Whole Foods. The B Complex and electrolyte minerals keep the brain and nervous system functioning properly as well as the conduction system of the heart. Forget Gatorade, there are much better choices. Emergen-C and Brain TonIQ are superior sources in liquid form.

If you do some activity that demands a great expenditure of energy; then replenish your body either by supplying nutrients before or immediately after in order to give back to your body what was needed during the activity. You risk fainting or feeling extreme fatigue if you do not replace the fuel that your body burns with exercise, sports, sex, or a long run.

If you faint frequently, then consider getting Acupuncturre Treatments to balance your Chi and Yang energy in specific meridians. You can also use some herbal formulations to regulate the flow of Chi along with some Tui Na massage or other types of bodywork. You can gradually strengthen your energy with Yoga or Tai Chi classes.

All in all…there’s no reason that you have to put yourself in a position to risk fainting when you utilize any or all of these tips for keeping you from tipping over and passing out.
