Dr. Oz and Contaminated Dips and Snacks With Groups
How many hands have been touching the food on the trays where you get catered food at public or private events? How many people’s mouths have been on chips that go back into the dip to ‘double-dip’ with the same chip? Dr. Oz weighs in on this subject in a repeat episode.
Of, course, there are dangers of bacteria and other pathogens in the bowl where ignorant people ‘double-dip’. If you are the one putting on the party, please design individual servings for your guests. Twenty small bowls of dip and chip plates will look like you really care… If you are at a party and there is only one large bowl of a particular dip or food; then get a separate plate and take your portion from an untouched area of the bowl – if one still exists. If not, then ask your host if there is more in the kitchen and get your own small portion this way. Better to be safe and polite, rather than sorry and angry that you’re suffering from food poisoning or that you’ve caught something from a fellow guest.
Don’t take unnecessary risks with unusual foods served at public events. A bake sale for your children’s school, the local art exhibit, the symphony fund-raiser, or any other party that has questionable food service. Take your own goodies or eat after the event is over. As Dr. Oz suggested, eat bite-sized proportions, just to be sure that you are fine. Remember those? Begins with an H and has an apostrophe in the word… LOL
There are so many fabulous people who cater these days…use THEM! They make incredible cakes, specialty foods, and gourmet cuisine for your parties and community events. These guys use professional commercial kitchens and equipment and are typically visited by the local Health Department to maintain their license to serve food.
The other protocol that you can use to prevent problems with contamination that impairs your health is to take some GSE prior to eating or drinking any questionable foods or beverages. You can ‘double-drink’ your second dose of GSE after you return from the event just to be certain that you’ve covered all your protective bases.
Liquid Ionic Silver, Zinc, and Copper will also do the trick. If you use the Essential Oils of Thyme, Oregano, Lemon, Rosemary, and Rosewood; that will also stop those nasty little pathogens in their tracks.
