Dancing With the Stars and Losing Weight While You Warm Up the Dance Floor

Dancing with the Stars began their new season last night and we watched all of the new celebrities step onto the Dance Floor to ‘strut their stuff’.

The interesting thing for healthy Lifestyles is that these people who are overweight are dropping the pounds while they practice for each performance.

It’s the ideal method for trimming your waist line and getting rid of a few pounds while having a great time warming up the Dance Floor.

Nancy Grace has already lost ten pounds and it’s only the first dance after just a few weeks of practice to learn the steps, the arm and foot placements, and go to ‘wardrobe’.

Chaz Bono has about 50 pounds to lose, so we hope s/he stays in the competition long enough to shed the weight and change people’s attitudes about gender identity. It’s one thing to have an advocacy position and another thing to dance for your health and pure pleasure…

We found JR Martinez to be the ‘breakout’ star of the night! He dazzled us with his dancing and his joyful presence. After all that he’s been through in war and reconstructive surgery, he serves as an inspiration to everyone and he was a genuine pleasure to watch and root for such a fine human being.

Just because you are an athlete doesn’t mean you will be able to dance well. Just watch the basketball player and the soccer star…. They have a long way to go before we can can what they are doing ‘ballroom dancing’.

I was surprised to see some of the contestants like Ricky Price do so well. I hope that Derrick’s and Tony’s partners get enough votes to keep my favorite make professional dancers bringing us great choreography every week. Maks and his brother seem to have a little competition of their own going, so the routines should reflect their best efforts and their partners get the better end of that sibling rivalry…

If there is anything that is worth taking note when you want a fun and entertaining way to lose weight and tonify your beautiful body, it is ‘dancing’. Not crazy uncoordinated moves, but graceful and traditional movements from the world of ‘ballroom dancing’.

Ballet, Ballroom, Jazz, and other more traditional styles of dancing on programs like ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ are proving that when you dance often and well, you will be healthy and in excellent shape…barring any unforeseen injuries from exceeding your skill level or suffering an accident.

The movements in dance support the health of the lymphatic system, the muscular and skeletal systems, the nervous system, the circulatory system, and contribute to good digestion and flexibility. It’s the smart way to enjoy a healthy Lifestyle while sharing an intimate moment with your partner!
