Cooking Instead of Concocting Your Tumeric!
If I had to decide whether to use Tumeric in my Curry sauces and my cooking or if I had to take a synthetic concoction of curcumin isolated from Tumeric as a supplement or a prescribed treatment for cancer to control tumor growth…I would choose to Cook My Tumeric!
I am going to say this loudly: “All Whole Foods are superior in their medicinal, therapeutic value to a human body than any isolated compound”.
The Eastern Mind knows that whole foods, herbs, plants, and other natural things have a synergistic quality when combined or used in their entirety. Thousands of years of experience has proven the value of the healing attributes when using the whole plant or the whole food, instead of trying to extract one chemical component as the sole beneficiary of their attention to its usefulness.
The Western Mind keeps trying to reduce the whole into its minute parts to find some chemical to sell with a brand name all its own. These compounds are called “isolates”. They can be manufactured and packaged as a pharmaceutical compound and sold to doctors and patients for an inflated price with inflated promises and insinuations.
This is the common theme. It happened with white willow bark and the “isolated” ingredient in aspirin for pain. It happened with Pine Essential Oil and Pine-Sol.
It happened with sea salt and sodium chloride Morton salt. It happened with citrus fruits and vitamin C. It happens so often, theres not enough space here to give you all the examples. The concept remains that industry tries to take an isolate from a whole food and market it with comparable qualities…failing to capture all the energetic value of the whole food original.
Let’s face the truth: Whole Foods which contain vitamin E do more for your Health than synthetic vitamin E. Choose to use the “Whole Food”!
Curry sauces often include Tumeric as one of the spices to flavor a dish that gives the energy to warm the body, reducing inflammation, lessening pain, supporting the liver and aiding digestion…among many other applications over the centuries.
Even though curcumin is considered the “active ingredient” in Tumeric…it doesn’t mean that the other co-factors do not play an equally important role in supporting health.
Personally…it is much better to cook with curry and Tumeric than to take curcumin as a supplement. I make a great Chicken Curry over brown rice, served with green peas and luscious onions; this makes you feel as good as ten bowls of chicken noodle soup!
A Vegetable Medley Curry is as good as it gets in the world of international cuisine! Delectably delicious, it puts a slight sweat on your face with each succeeding bite of utter bliss! Your body laughs in total delight…warm and wonderful – no cancer cells here with this attitude!
Truly…Cook with Curry Spices! It does a body good!
The Japanese researchers need a little time to spend in an Indian restaurant, instead of all those hours in the lab.
