Chew Your Food Well!

So many people guzzle down beverages when they get thirsty, just as they inhale their food when they are famished! What ever happened to a harmonious routine throughout the day that consisted of a conscious attempt to fortify the body with regular and paced small meals and realistically-sized drinks? Is your day so hectic and your attention so scattered that you overwhelm your digestive system by overindulgence?

Change must come from the intention to become dedicated to a healthy Lifestyle and a progressive state of continual Wellness. A little thoughtful consideration and a dedication to your own personal Well-Being is all it takes to make this jump to intelligent reality. Resist the need to keep or exceed the pace that others in society would place upon you, pace yourself! Find your own natural daily rhythm! Start a healthy cogent routine and stick with it.

Chew your food well. It seems silly to say it, but when you take the time to masticate the bite well (20 to 50 chews); it is simply amazing how you begin to feel satiated (full) with less food. Additionally, you must mix the saliva with your bites of food to fully initiate the digestive process. If you gulp, swallow swiftly, and vacuum in your food without taking the time to chew it thoroughly; you impede the digestive process and place stress upon the other organs of the digestive system.

It all starts in your mouth! If you cannot find the self-discipline to chew your food and beverages adequately; then you are going to face the need to supplement your diet with digestive enzymes, juices that contain these enzymes like papaya or pineapple juice, or engage in occasional detox, fasting, or colon cleansing programs. They will help, BUT there’s nothing like “Chewing Your Food”!
