Beyond Quarantines and TB Exposure Risks
The CDC just quarantined a fellow who has a particularly virulent and drug-resistant strain of TB after he returned from oversees breaking his promise not to take any other international flights. Well now…all those passengers and crew members are going to have to monitor themselves, as will this fellow’s female partner. The idea to quarantine him came a few days and two international flights too late. He should have been more responsible, but alas – how can we expect anyone who knowingly has a dangerous disease and fails to manage his lifestyle properly to adhere to public health policy voluntarily?
So beyond the obvious need for this quarantine, we need to take the necessary precautions to avoid and reduce any chance of exposure to TB and other contagious diseases in public. This can be accomplished if you plan and think ahead. You first must keep your immune system strong by supporting it with a healthy diet and natural healthcare products.
Next, it is important to prepare your defense plan when knowingly going into public places – like airplanes – and following it while in any public area that is open to people freely moving and traveling in that space. It only takes brushing up against an infected person or touching a contaminated surface to risk direct exposure yourself. You need a barrier between you and the pathogens and their carriers. Washing your hands is not enough!
