Food Revolution: Jamie Oliver is Bold and Brilliant…Join Him for a Sneak Peak
The abc tv network is going to air a sneak peak tonight about the Food Revolution series hosted by chef Jamie Oliver. This is a ‘must see’!
Jamie Oliver is undertaking one of the most important projects in America. The work of changing the diets of this country’s school-age children is imperative and it needs to be embraced by schools, service providers, parents, teachers, tv executives, and every citizen in this country. We need this now. Our children deserve this now!
Some people say that the health of our children is a National Security issue. I would tend to agree with that assessment. If the next generation is impaired and cannot be productive members of our society due to degenerative diseases and the inability to think clearly and behave in a civil manner; then we are in trouble…big trouble!
It is essential to get our kids to eat healthier foods and drink healthier beverages. If we are going to raise successful, thoughtful, well-adjusted, and healthy adults, then these children must eat well. They are being exposed to horrible choices in vending machines and in school cafeterias. This is unacceptable when there are healthy alternatives.
Join Jamie Oliver and me tonight and watch the Sneak Preview episode about the Food Revolution series and then remember to get involved in any way it is possible for you to join this cause.
This is one huge food fight! We need to throw the old food at the wall until it’s gone while having some fun in the process. We then can give our children healthy choices and teach them to eat healthy food from now on…
Fling a little junk food tonight and help us get this amazing message across to everyone who has children, works with children, or cares about children!
I would encourage Dr. Oz, Oprah, Martha Stewart, Rachael Ray, Bonnie Hunt, Ellen Degeneres, and every talk show host during the day and in the evening to do segments on this Food Revolution…please….we implore you! Ask Jay Leno, David Letterman, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Fallon, or your favorite local talk show host/hostess to bring this Reality Show series to the forefront of America’s attention, so we can make the necessary changes by giving this issue priority. It’s time to do it now!
Oprah is certainly on the Food Revolution bandwagon…hip, hip, hooray! Now for all of us to join in on the fun Food Fights.
I must amend this post following last night’s second episode when I watched in horror and disbelief that first graders could NOT recognize potatoes, tomatoes, beets, or other common vegetables like eggplants. They knew about ketchup and french fries, but had NO idea that tomatoes and potatoes were the whole food responsible for their favorite fast foods. That’s startling…isn’t it?!? Fortunately, the teacher took the week to teach the kids to recognize their vegetables and fruits to my utter relief.
Even when Jamie Oliver dressed up in his funny Pea Pod costume, some of the kids didn’t recognize a pea pod with peas. They had no previous experience with REAL PEAS. Don’t you find that amazing? Don’t you find that incredibly hard to believe? I do! Who is teaching our kids and why don’t they know about whole foods? Where are the parents in this educational process and is there a pea pod in 99% of American kitchens these days? This is a travesty! And this is precisely why it is imperative that we all help Jamie Oliver and our children change their Lifestyle choices by learning about, eating, and even growing their own whole foods. I implore you to get involved!
