The Doctors Recommend: Chamomile Tea
Now why in the world would the doctors on TheDoctorsTV show recommend placing a bag of chamomile tea on a blemish on your face?
It’s smart…and effective! The chamomile tea is going to soften the tissue of the facial skin in order to make it pliable enough for the blackheads and whiteheads to be gently removed without damaging the skin in the process.
You can leave the tea bag compress on for about five minutes, but here’s a helpful hint to make it work better. Make the chamomile tea, but use organic and fresh chamomile. Brew it for several minutes and strain if necessary. Soak a clean washcloth or a sterile dressing pad with the warm chamomile tea and then apply it to the blemishes. Keep it there for up to five minutes and check to see if the skin has softened sufficiently to gently remove the head of the pimple or blemish. If not, you can soak it longer or use Blue Chamomile Essential Oil drops to further prepare and soothe the tissue. You can also use this Essential Oil afterward to help in the healing process.
Chamomile Tea is soothing for the internal organs, too. Many people use it to help them sleep due to the calming and relaxing properties that chamomile is well-known for…although you don’t necessarily want to drink too much tea before bedtime. One cup in the evening with lemon and honey is very satisfying, although if you are stressed out at work, it certainly pays to drink one or two cups at the office. A spritzer of purified water and a couple of drops of German or Blue Chamomile Essential Oils will be cooling in the hot summer, too.
You can also find chamomile in some good formulations for shampoo and conditioner to calm the scalp.
If you find that your infants and younger children through their teen years are grumpy, moody, irritable, or cry easily with little provocation; then a nice relaxing cup of chamomile tea is suitable for these young ones. The taste is fine alone, but if honey or blue agave syrup is used to sweeten the tea, many kids will ask for it by name more frequently.
