Smoothies Should NOT Have Milk…

In order for a Smoothie to be a real Smoothie, by definition according to an Old-Timer (that would be me) in this area of expertise; there should not be any milk or any dairy products.

This may come as a shock to many of you newbies to the Health and Wellness Movement, but Smoothies are made from fruit, nut milks, seeds, and natural sweeteners.  In the old days, everyone who was up to snuff on health food knew that dairy products are not to be combined with fruit.  The enzymes are affected which alters and interferes with the digestive process.

This wisdom was also known in older Europe when developing sauces in food preparation.  It takes one or two times of getting the curdling to figure it out for yourself.  Do not mix fruit juices with dairy.  Break or curdle a sauce…imagine what your stomach thinks when you ignore this folklore with Smoothie ingredients.

Leave the milk out of the blender.  Leave the ice cream out of the mix.  Keep the correct grouping of ingredients together to have the perfect Smoothie.  A Fruit Smoothie is ideal just as it was originally designed to be in our earlier years in this industry.  People have come along and corrupted the recipes with the mentality of a soda jerk making milkshakes at a Soda Fountain.

Keep Smoothies real!  Make them without milk!  Be healthy!
