Important Notice!
The Recall effort for Castleberry’s Food Company and Bumble Bee canned Chili, Hash, Stew, sausage gravy, canned dog food, and around 90 different products with numerous labels is going unnoticed by many retailers and stores that have stocked these cans for nearly two years – estimates in the millions of cans produced at the Augusta, Georgia plant!
You, the consumer, are now ultimately responsible for checking your shelves for these products that are part of the Recall. If you are into Food Storage…or have a can hiding in the back of one of the higher shelves in your cabinets in the kitchen or pantry, then you better take the time to look at the labels and see if any of the brand names are on the recall list!
The FDA has an official list that you can access online. The company is sending out people to look at various stores, but who knows if they will cover the entire territory with complete accuracy for locating each and every can. It is important to find out about any cans that come from Food Banks, gas stations, senior centers, lunchrooms and cafeterias, and in homes. Botulism is serious enough to warrant a comprehensive accounting of all food supplies and inventory…leave no label unturned!
