So here is the first recipe for starters:

Miso Soup

With one to two tablespoons of miso paste, combine the paste with ten ounces of pure water in a glass pan and bring it to a gentle warm temperature.

Do NOT boil this mixture!

Add any of the following ingredients to enhance the miso soup to suit your daily needs and interests in a variety of flavors and textures.

Kombu strips
Tofu cubes
fresh scallions
grated ginger root – or slivers or diced
fresh garlic clove – diced or sliced
finely chopped onion
toasted sesame oil
julienne vegetables like carrots or squash
fresh cilantro or parsley or other herbs
sesame seeds
pinch of sea salt
gomasio sprinkled when served

You can serve the Miso Soup with a whole grain like organic brown rice with sauteed vegetables and a side dish of aduki beans or lentils seasoned with fresh herbs and spices.

Savor your bowl of Miso Soup. Sip it slowly…let it melt in your mouth. Taste the saltiness and the pungent flavor of the miso knowing that the life-sustaining enzymes and nutrients will serve you well.
