Dr. Oz and the Male Brain: Gender and Healthy Relationships

Dr. Oz seems to be under the impression that he is giving away some secrets to how the male brain and psyche operate today. He even cautioned the audience that he may be perceived to be a ‘traitor’ of sorts… How absurd!

Does he doubt how well men know themselves? Does he feel that women have no idea about what goes on in the mind of a man? Is he operating under the illusion that there is great depth and mystery locked into the male brain that precludes comprehension? I hope this is not the case.

Dr. Oz and the Male Brain

His guest, Mr. Steve Harvey, tried to turn the discussion into a comedy mixed with a little tragedy. He is deluded to think that ALL men must have sex in a healthy relationship. This is simply not true. Sex does not drive all men whether they will admit it or not… Sex and genuine love-making are a part of a healthy relationship, but not the ‘be all and end all’ that Steve made it out to be! He lives in his First Seal as do many people who have not evolved.

Personally, most women are not attracted to men who view all relationships as potential or eventual sexual encounters. We have news for you men. We are attracted and drawn and respect a man who has a great personality, a healthy sense of humor, an ability to discuss a wide variety of topics, and interests that extend far beyond the bedroom. There’s so much more to life than an orgasm…

If that’s all you live for, then it is rather likely that your existence will be shallow and immature. You will shorten the length of your lifetime considerably and be lonely, but horny for most of those years. Your life may not have the same depth of meaning and value as your male counterparts who have developed more mature social and family skills. Just saying…

Many men think women believe that you can be changed, but the truth is that only you can change your mind and reprogram your male brain. This holds true for women as well. It’s not anyone’s responsibility to retrain you, you must be motivated from within to accomplish lasting and meaningful change.

Men can retrain their brains as can women. The brain is your most prized possession and resource for a healthy Lifestyle. Your attitudes, thoughts, feelings, and belief systems will determine your Quality of Life. What your common thought brings to the table is the measure of a man!

Human beings have the innate capacity to mold themselves into anyone they wish to be, to think in whatever capacity that meets with their approval, and to change their minds at any time. There are no limitations unless they are self-imposed.

However, if you as a man choose to retrain your brain, do it for you, not for someone else. To thine own self be true! There’s nothing impressive about an artificial person who is not honest, sincere, or consistently honoring who they are. Self-exploration and discussion with your partner(s) will reveal yourself to you and those around you. Trust the process of being authentic.

Dr Oz also talked about throwing out wine after three days, but instead of wasting it; you can cook with it. Wine works in many delicious dishes. Dr. Oz rates frozen food and processed foods higher than they deserve, so I would suggest that you go for the freshest ingredients every chance you get. If you have to learn how long your mayo or your cereal will last, then you are doing yourselves a disservice by having them in your pantry or refrigerator in the first place. Life Force or Chi is diminishing all the time once the produce is picked or harvested whether it is frozen or canned. Doctors like Dr. Oz do not take ‘energy’ into consideration when looking at frozen and canned foods, but we do. It’s imperative that you eat your food at it’s peak of energetic perfection as often as possible for it to nourish your body.

Think of your food and your relationships as better when they are fresh and inviting, not stale or frozen. Plug that idea into your male brain and let it soak in until you understand the beauty of being present and alive in each moment.
