Doctors TV and Oz Improve Their Content with Healthy Gifts and Advice for Junk Food Junkies

I know that I expect a lot from my fellow professionals. The doctors on DoctorsTV and even Dr. Oz have regained a little more of my respect today after describing some good gifts for a healthy Christmas season of giving and Dr. Oz finally called out the DJ and his sister who are junk food junkies for what they are.

The DJ admitted that his diet of cheeseburgers, fries, pizza, macaroni and cheese and other junk foods along with smoking was leading to his early demise. His sister is following closely on his heals and resisted giving up General Tsao’s Chicken as if it were going to be a major inconvenience. But at least the young son of the DJ became the voice of reason and gave his father a reason to change.

It’s amazing that the DJ’s doctors found it manageable for him to be on six different medications without insisting upon a lifestyle change. Are they still viewing themselves as pharmaceutical dispensaries only? Time for THAT to change, too! DJ finally is getting the idea that enough is enough and his monster belly and high blood pressure serve as constant reminders. He can’t feel as good as his music, can he?

Junk Food junkies are inherently lazy and are reluctant to change their bad habits. The suggestions that Dr. Oz gave were solid, although too little for getting these two out of the danger zone. Only time will tell if they will implement the healthy lifestyle changes recommended on this show. I would have remodeled each of those three dishes that put the pounds on and make fatty metabolism difficult.

The advice that Dr. Oz gave to do something wonderful immediately when a person wakes up is excellent and should be heeded by all of us. If the first, second, third, and thirtieth actions of the day all demonstrate that we truly do care about our personal well-being; then this becomes the natural way of living. Self-sabotaging behavior becomes a thing of the past…
