Heating Things Up!

The Heat Wave of the Summer is making the News and it is obvious just how few people think about planning ahead for the warmest days of this season.

Shocking…to be living in a locale where you know it’s likely that the Sun is going to be beating down its heat on you with virtually no cloud cover or chance of rain during the drought!  One would think that the average person could check out the weather forecast for the day before leaving home, before leaving the child in the car, before heading out to meet the heat waves head on…

Alas, if you don’t plan for the day, the day determines your future plans.  It never hurts to take precautions.  It never hurts to take some measures to be able to protect your body or that of the innocent child relying upon you for his safety.  It is never too late to turn around and go back to cooler places…even if you have to duck into an air-conditioned building for a few hours until the day nears completion to evening temps that are bearable.  Barely, but still perceptible are those small ways that you can cool down the body.

Spritz…with a water mist that will cool while it evaporates.  Splash…with a gentle water bath that will refresh your face and exposed surfaces of your body.  Even those sweet little hand-held battery-operated fans will bring relief for a little while.  It goes without saying, but I will anyway, that you must take your bottled water with you.  Just add a drop of cooling peppermint essential oil to your regimen to give the body the tools it needs to weather the Weather!
